sam89 Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Thanks for the pic, now we have some idea what it'll look like. I think I'll wait until I see a picture of the actual set before I decide if I'll buy it. Quote

I fully concur with you Sam ;-) Seeing the progression in all those Exo Mechas, I am sure it will be a great set !! Now lets wait for real pics !! Oh and BTW, great find Toa !! *yoda* Quote
xenologer Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Bridge Walker is nice that its a non-humanoid shaped mech. However... I'm predicting with those wide hips, that Lego will design the hip joints to be non-functional, for stability and just being able to stand; as opposed to posability and walking motion. (Same case for Striking Venom, look closely and you'll notice it has non-bending knees) Its too bad that larger ones tend to be statues cause of the weight... I'd like to see a more Technic-ized model with actual geared legs and counterbalancing.. and *maybe* motorization (tho even the best MOCers have trouble with motorized walkers) ohwell... Quote
Kahgarak Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 YES!!!!A MechWarrior STYLED MECH!YES! Warning.Illegal leet usage coming. WHiT3 1iGHTNiNG 4ND BRiDG3 W41K3R R0XX0RZ! *phew* That's over. I like the double cockpit and the Bohrok eyes on the main cockpit a lot. Quote
natelite Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 AWESOME!... i was so right. remember i said white lightning is going to be piloted by hayato and it will be a flying mech with the insignia A.03? holy cow batman...how right was that? 3/3. 4/4 actually since i said bridge walker is the robot's ground mech. oh well... in case you were wondering what the japanese words on the right foot said, it said white lightning. edit: it's actually a full sized mech vs a gigantic sized mech. JoeMI6 Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 That's looking great, i think i will have to see the set before parting with my cash though. I wonder where the dude found his source material... Quote
natelite Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 well, it was signed joseph caesar SD. i wonder what that means. Quote
Mithrandir Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 That looks cool. Does anyone know if they're going to continue Exo-Force after 2006, or is this going to be another one of those "one year only" themes that Lego is so fond of lately? I think this would be a really good chance to create a large running theme for Lego. I hope so, because this is the closest we've got to the old Space stuff (I gave up on a space revival when they announced another 3 years of Star Wars earlier this year, sigh)... I just wish they wouldn't use those stupid anime figures for everything (I put alpha team and dino attack figs in my human mechs, lol). yay robots :) Quote
Zane Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 shouldn't u post it here ? *wacko* ... No. E-F will continue next year, I believe. -Tilius- Quote
natelite Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Good question. As much as I like the line, I think it will not last past two years. Making mechs after a while becomes repetitive. The only thing that varies is the armor. Having said that, it's always possible to expand to non-humanoid versions. Even if that fail, if it has popular followings like bionicles, lego will still maintain the line. Eg, like the police and fireman lines, they have been in existance for as long as lego has created them because people continue to buy them (just how many police station do you need?! *wacko* ). So really the question boils down to just how popular will exoforce be in the market. Can it achieve the status of police, fire, star wars or even bionicle? TLG seems to be focusing a lot of their advertisement money on exoforce. So I think they may want to make exoforce the next bionicle... probably. And I totally agree with you on the hair. I do like the minifigs though, just not the hair while they are piloting the mechs. So, when they are in the cockpit I make them wear helmet with the same color as their hair, eg hikaru (the white mech) wears a blue jayko helmet with a smoke (trans-black) visor. I think it is neat. if you have the KK castle of morcia, you have a full set! blue, red, green, purple. Quote
Mithrandir Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Good question. As much as I like the line, I think it will not last past two years. Making mechs after a while becomes repetitive. The only thing that varies is the armor. Yeah, that was one of my main complaints; the four $15 mechs are virtually identical in construction, and so are the $5 mechs (and the two that came with the gate assault). I spread building them out over a few days, but it was still annoying. However, from a piece-point-of-view, these are some of the best sets I've seen in a long time. Plus, the Supernova switched things up a bit and made it more interesting, and it looks like Striking Venom and the new Bridge Walker may make things even better on top of that. Quote
The Hordesman Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Yeah, that was one of my main complaints; the four $15 mechs are virtually identical in construction, and so are the $5 mechs (and the two that came with the gate assault). I spread building them out over a few days, but it was still annoying. I completely agree- but its a pattern; for every year that goes KK2 gets more and more worth the money (well, figurevise). Awesome find! The Bridgewalker got some tactical disadvantages, but that doesnt stop me from modifying it when it comes! Quote
Zane Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 Actually, the 4 main mechs are quite different in construction... -Tilius- Quote
Deinonychus Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Oh baby, look at the cannons on that sucker *wub* Exo-Force is quickly becoming one of my most favorite themes...rock on! Quote
Mithrandir Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Actually, the 4 main mechs are quite different in construction...-Tilius- Uh no, they're all incredibly similar, especially how they start off. the first 8 steps of all 4 are identical, and the legs of the stealth hunter and the fire vulture are the same, and the legs of the grand titan and the thunder fury are the same too. Quote
Zane Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 They're different in comparison to, say, the Toa Metru. As in they're not just recoloured.... -Tilius- Quote
xenologer Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 They're different in comparison to, say, the Toa Metru. As in they're not just recoloured.... -Tilius- Yes, by bionicle standards they are very unique(that doesn't say much considering that Bionicle... ...but thats a different topic). But that doesn't change the fact that they are pretty 'standardized' as far as System sets go. SuperNova actually bored me quite a bit, it was esentially the same old mecha frame, just with lots of wings and stuff tacked on that breaks off easily and makes it harder to play with. Quote
Khorne Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 No it's not, it right here. The guy rearranged his folder and it is now under Other/Random, but it's still there ;-) . Quote
Darkness Falls Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Hey, has anyone noticed two robots pilot the Bridge walker? Well, White Lightning looks nice, compact, and pretty cool. This actually looks great. I'd like to know when this comes out... Sorry, slow with the times. Quote
rhymer Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I did notice that there is two robots. If you look closer you can see that one is a blue/white robot and the other is a brown robot. Quote
