So, this update seems to confirm that the minifigs in the leaked catalog were just prototypes, and that we will actually be getting some brand new mummies and heroes with personality. That's a relief, and it makes me just a wee bit more interested in the line as a whole. :classic:

Every time I get more and more excited for this theme! Jake Raines looks like a pretty cool figure, I want to get one of him in the sets! The treasures look like the pieces that are in the prelims we saw.

This theme looks to have alot of potential. I hope it sticks around awhile. Gonna take some time to build an army of undead mummies.

So now that we are getting an idea what the figures will actually look like, how much do you think the sets will change going from the prototype models we've seen to their actual look at release. The catalog that was leaked shows them looking pretty close to what one might imagine they will looking like. But in the past we've seen that Lego can sometimes drastically change what a set looks like between the prototype stage and the actual release.

I don't think they will change much, if even at all. But if I had my wish, I would like the sphinx to look more like a statue and less like a robot dog. The same goes for the snake. I'm not really into the cloth piece for the snake's hood. And for the pyramid, I'd like them to replace the giant scorpion with sometime else (maybe another vehicle), but I know they wouldn't do that anyways.

If Lego made these small changes, this theme would be just about perfect! What do you guys think?

The sphinx/scorpion/snake thing is the playability part. In Adventurers, the single pharaoh had 0 chance of winning against 2 teams of adventurers with a crapful of vehicles. Now, the pharaoh has a giant stone snake, sphinx, and scorpion ready to beat the crap out of them.

This update? Which update? I've only seen the leaked catalogue + the mummy with the alphabet from the site (which they pulled down afterwards).

The set usually come out around mid-November/December. So I think that's where he got it.

The December 2010 date was on the last page of the Lego comic.. [go past the page where you brush away the sand. Click anubis's photo.. the final page with the Phantom Pharaoh Photo.. just under the photo ]

Christmas is looking good this year.. Family doesn't need presents this year its all about Pharaoh Lego for me lol

Where is the real one?? sounds like a to be continued line to me.. hopefully more sets after the first wave.

Oooh, very exciting! Can't wait for this theme. Judging by last years realease dates in stores, I make it two weeks until these start appearing. I got the Bionicle Stars around that time last year.

this is welcome news, but knowing my lego store they'll be in about febuary :hmpf:

I think the journal mentions of other adventures were just LEGO's way of bringing back some nostalgia among AFOLs and TFOLs. Perhaps if Pharaoh's Quest is popular, there might be future themes with Jack Raines, and they might even be in the same sort of places Johnny Thunder has been. But a passing mention like that doesn't mean there are any plans in place-- Historic theme fans certainly learned their lesson about that after "The Elflands" appeared in a magazine on a map of locations in Fantasy-Era Castle.

Johnny searchs,in Egypt for the Ruby,in the Amazon for the Golden Sun Disk(rumored to grant a single wish),in Dinoland for Barney the purple dinosaur, and in asia for the Golden Dragon and the treasures of Marco Polo.

What's your point?

...What?

Anyway, I see the logic in a potential revival of the Adventurers theme in different locations. I missed all of them, and would welcome them, particularly the mountain one or whatever it was. It sounds interesting. However, I'm fairly sure that they're just references to the old sets rather than a hint to the future.

To contradict myself, though, Atlantis had a second phase after they found Atlantis itself, which I didn't really expect because I thought it would end upon finding Atlantis. The new wave has redesigned human stuff, which could be similar to this because it's a new location with changed stuff but the same characters.
