Well, I'd suggest getting the Pyramid, if you ask me. The command center is a nice set, but too play-oriented. Too actionesque so to say. While the pyramid can easilly be put on a display. Actually, the pyramid is one of the most detaid and colorful sets out of the whole theme, not to mention unique and beautiful minifigs, printed parts and new molds.

And the general color-scheme is much more appealing. at least to my taste. :classic:

I'm not saying the pyramid is bad. I'm saying that the Command Center is better.

I agree, I have both and while I really do like the pyramid set, I like the HQ a lot more. I have to disagree with The Penguin, the HQ looks good on the shelf. The minifigs are cool, especially the alien pirate(according to Lego) which is exclusive to that set, as well as the toxic cleanup scientist. I'd say go with the HQ first, but get the pyramid set, too.

Well, I agree that both sets are worth getting, it just depends, I guess, on the person. I, being a history fan, definitely prefered to get the Pyramid first. And you do have a point here, Legocrazy81, I really forgot about the exclusive figs in the HQ set. So get both sets really. You can just imagine that those adventurers found some antient alien mechanism in the Pyramid that summoned the UFO's!

Well, as The Penguin said, the color scheme was a pretty big draw for me for the Pyramid set. I really like the ADU HQ as well, but for some reason it looks less impressive on the whole to me. I guess I'll have to look at those reviews again  Thanks for the advice!

I'd say if you have parts to MOD it, get the pyramid. If you don't, get the ADU set. The pyramid is good but it needs a lot of modifying for it to be great. But the ADU set looks more complete but still isn't as cool as a modified pyramid. :classic: I prefer the pyramid myself (I don't have the ADU HQ) but that's because I had parts to make the inside better.

Has to be the Command Centre, even though it only just edges the Pyramid. It's a great set, and the swooooooooosh factor on the jet is second to none. But to be honest, they both have excellent features, and both merit the designers. I remember the Pyramid being more expensive though, so that's always a downside.

Agreed. I'm going out on a limb and saying that the Command Centre is one of the best non-exclusive sets of the year.

I agree.

I love the Pharaoh's Quest line but, if I had to make a choice between the pyramid and the HQ, I would go for the HQ, hands down. It's a great looking set, with a real 'classic space' vibe to it and IMO, it's one of the best sets to come out this year.

I think it's a hard choice. 1 is the image and use some old parts to create a classic look (Alien Conquest), and 1 is definitely classic with a new look (Pyramid, old style design with half of the pyramid. Very classic, just like old castle set, or cave, or something like that, new look I mentioned is about the color and new mold. So it's all about your choice then. I think they're both great set to own.

So is there any evidence to suggest that Pharaoh's Quest will be continuing with another wave? I really hope it wasn't a 1 wave theme... :sceptic:

As far as I know we haven't heard of a wave 2. But I think there is some chances we get it, because of the positive feedpack, and that the PQ sets seem to sell well.

I wonder what they would put in a second wave. I mean is there anymore to do. They have done the pyramid, the obilisk, and the sphinx. I guess they could do a big temple and some kind of nile set but, I don't see a whole lot more they could do in this line. I do however see a great potential for the same characters in a different setting like the amazon or India. :classic:

Ah, I do not think there will be further adventures in Egypt, the concept can be expanded to other loactions though.

Total drag.

I was really hoping for some Anubis warrior impulse sets, or battle packs.

I think that an Ancient Greek adventure would be pretty cool and introduce minifigures such as minotaurs or satyrs. Not to mention the "guardians" could be actual Ancient Greek monsters such as the hydra.

I also believe there will be a second wave, for the reasons stated above, plus on it's PQ website, LEGO has given a hint that there will be a new wave of PQ. When you download the online comics, in the last panel of the fifth chapter Jake states: "Whaddya say, gang ... want to stick together for the next adventure? Maybe we'll even get to save the world again! (sic)". And if a kids' comic says there will be a new wave, why wouldn't it be so? LEGO wouldn't lie to kids, now, would they?

I share Peppermint's thoughts on the presumed change of location. Egypt has been done, it's time to move on to something new, just like they did with the old Adventurers' theme.

Think about India thuggee battle packs or Incan warrior battle packs. Awesome. :sweet:

I don't think India will be the next setting for the next PQ line, due to it's mythology being too unknown to western audiences.

If there would be a new line, I'd most likely put my money on Ancient Greece, as well. My biggest doubt here is, well, Ancient Greece has somewhat "been done" by the Atlantis theme :sceptic: . Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see  .

That's a good point. I think Ancient Greece would be a good location, but it is too close to Atlantis. Maybe Ancient Rome or China?

A problem with Rome is that it's never had the same exotic appeal as many African, American, and Asian locations. Egypt, for instance, is in the middle of a desert. It's easy for an author to stick a fictional landmark somewhere in that vicinity without breaking willing suspension of disbelief. On the other hand, Rome is in a highly-populated area where most of the historic landmarks are in the middle of a civilization that's been active for centuries. Chances are a theme to follow up Pharaoh's Quest would be set some other tried-and-tested adventure story location, like China or South America.

I have to agree, even on their comic´s at the LEGO site, show that the heroes defeat the pharaoh and it´s minions, so probably the team shall move to another location.

I second you, actually an adventure of Rome will be see kind of odd, giving the comparison on the time period that the heroes go to their destinations, I mean the Pharaoh theme will have to seem kind of strange if it were habitable by some people, and not give us a solitude landscape, a selvatic location could do it.

I have to disagree with that second statement. I think the culture of India is quite well known around the world and there is a lot that you could do with that theme that has not been done before. I think about giant king cobras or cobra mutants or think about some big temple set kind of like Angkor Wat which, isn't in India but has very similar architecture. Also think about all of the cool animals that Lego could release like tigers, more elephants, and of course a king cobra. I mean the rattlesnake is ok for most snakes but, I want a properly hooded cobra. Lego has been releasing a lot of new animals like the new monkey, the camel, the new goats and chickens. A cobra and tiger would be just too awesome. Keep crossing your fingers. :classic:
