lightningtiger Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Thanks 'CptMugwash' for your comments, MS paint can give details of the picture sizing and hence you can then adjust the size ! Keep on watching ! Quote
Vaders_son Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Thank you 'Vaders_son', these images come from searches on Goggle Image page and some resizing before printing on photo sticker paper. Keep on watching everyone.....more happening tomorrow ! Thanks for the info, do I need a special printer to do that? Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Thanks for the info, do I need a special printer to do that? Nope, just a humble ink jet printer....my is a Cannon which is at least three years old ! Updates later on today so keep on watching ! Quote
starwarsfanatic Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Later on today? There isn't much of later on left! It's good, although I did think initially it would be a little bigger. Oh well, there's no problem with small! Quote

Oh well, there's no problem with small! Yeah, later on today....Adelaide time....it's 7.41am at the moment of writing this ! The town will grow in sections but this particular layout is for a train show in three weeks ! PANIC ! 200 words I must write for it today.....oh, %&$#$%$ ! Don't worry I'll have some landscaping done today - uploading after that ! Thanks for comments anyway 'starwarsfanatic' ! Keep on watching everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 Yep, some landscaping done. Not even quarter way in landscaping yet.....oh, boy ! Comments on the landscaping so far.....feel free ! Keep on watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 No landscaping today, but work on my Class 500 diesel engine there was. Anyway, question should I try and brick-build some gum trees to have along the main street by the railway line or not ? Keep any suggestions comming, I have to be ready for the 15th of April (that's the start of the train show). Thanks to everyone so far who has commented and made suggestions. (keep them comming please) Quote
AussieJimbo Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 The new billboards and shrubs look good on the curve coming into town. Would be nice to see some gum trees if you've got the bits to do them. :classic: Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Thanks 'AJ', yeah....parts is becomming a problem now....need a fusion of tan and light bluey grey to do gum trees ! I'll try and scratch-build a tree by Friday. Keep on watching ! Quote
CptMugwash Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Hi LT, the little details are all adding up, I like the use of these for the gates with the signs covering the studs, great idea, reminds me of the Grand Theft Auto sign For the gum trees if you don't have enough bricks I'd try and find an alternative, unfortunately I'm not an experienced tree builder. Keep on mocing Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Thanks 'CptMugwash' for your kind words, well today I'll try building a tree....oops and that dam paint roller I said I would make yesterday over in the 10218 topic ....aw, well that's life and keep on watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) With a week to go.....now I decide to make some changes yep, crazy I am ! New track layout. Some changes, but I have just enough track to make New Mannum work.....but sadly no track left for Lego city train or even tram ! As usual comments are very welcome.......and keep on watching for more updates. Edited April 8, 2011 by lightningtiger Quote
AussieJimbo Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Nice compact layout LT, should work well for the train show. :classic: Quote
Gregorovich Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 This is shaping up to be a really great town! I love how it's all so smooth and clean. The interior details of the shops are brilliant. Your decals look grea, too. The only thing I'd change would be those billboards; it looks odd how they advertise real things, with real humans on them. Good work, I really look forward to seeing this finished! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 Thanks 'AJ' and also 'Gregorovich' for your positive feedback.....now minifig that billboard, why didn't I think of that ! I might give that a go, MS paint is easy for me to use ! Keep watching everyone, I might just have a few more surprises instore this comming week....including a new tyre dealer to boot ! Quote
city boy Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Nice work on every thing.Any more pics of the train?? Quote

Out of Sight Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 WOW..I couldn't even dream of building a MOC of this stature, let alone build it. Very nice..I like the convenience store, I believe I saw a pack of 'Panadol' on the shelf Exceptional detailings, you always seem to be "lightning" up this forum with your thunderous MOCs!! Despite all these, what caught my eye is that WHITE flatbed Ute,a typical Aussie outback utility vehicle . Looks like a Holden ute with that raked windshield? I could be wrong though..but it's definitely not an Effie,Patrol or Hilux.Where's the 'roo' bar mate? Quote

Oh, that gap is being filled ! Check my next MOC out in it's own little topic ! Brick On ! Quote
malliemcg Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 lightningtiger: An impressive MOC. Reminded me of my youth growing up in country SA. (Barmera (+Riverland) and Wudinna for those interested). You captured details that just made me go "oh yeah, I remember...". Can't wait to see it all finished, what ever happened with the Silos? Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 10, 2011 Author Posted April 10, 2011 Thanks 'malliemcg' for your kind comments, now the silo had to be scrapped due to costs....it would have totally broken the bank ! I'll be laying the town out again tomorrow to check what else needs to be changed or adjusted. Keep on watching for more updates. K.O.B. ! Quote

Check my next MOC out in it's own little topic ! Brick On ! I think you misunderstood me. What I meant by "bar" was not a bar (as in a place to buy drinks). What I meant was, "roo" bar, other word for bull bars those extended front bumpers found on many Australian vehicles, to protect the vehicles and roo's during collision, like this: Quote

I wished Lego would make to minifig scale kangaroo's, but well maybe one day ! Though I diddn't even say anything to do with pubs/bars/or drinking....ah, well....Keep on watching......out for Skippy.....The Bush Kangaroo ! Edited April 10, 2011 by lightningtiger Quote
