BudhaBoss Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 (edited) This is my "creative interpretation" of the descriptions given by BudhaBoss and Follows Closely. They don't feature all of the factors mentioned by them, but I just wanted my own visual for anticipating this release. Great picture. Yet there are some things different on the real set - bay window does not go up to the roof, ends in second floor. Houses are switched (brown/orange is on the left, but that depends on the user). There is much less orange. Pet shop is on the floor level and brown house has higher first floor with stairs. There is big transparent shop window of the size of glass door, then glass door and then on the right are stairs to the upper level (so your pet shop building is mirrored) . PETS sign is above the door and shop window, not above stairs. There are 3 windows on the second floor of pet shop (2, 4, 2 studs) and 3 roof windows. L-Shaped is the brown house roof on the right side (the corner with the pet shop). Pet shop has the blue color even on the first floor - but the line in different color is there, just light yellow. Post box is inside the wall (next to the door of brown house). The roof is well done, very similar to the actual one. Looking foward to the next modular building. My fav modular building is Green groccer. Do you mean 10218 or the one after that? Edited May 1, 2011 by BudhaBoss Quote
TheMagician Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Very good news! Let's hope that sale via lego.com starts around the same date. I want to get mine here in Germany Quote
Gregorovich Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I found out this set is arriving at all of the US LEGO brand retail stores on monday, and will be for sale starting May 10!!! Very exciting! I saw a photo of it as well, and it looks very similar to the post by cottonwood. If it's coming out so soon, we should be getting pictures . I really hope we get images soon, because I just can't wait to see this thing! If anyone else gets the chance to see this before official photos come out, please take pictures if you can! Cottonwood, that's a fantastic MOC! Even if it's not exactly the same as the real set, it's still a very interesting model. Well done! Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Why is everybody seeing these images of it and not taking pictures Thats the thing I can't understand Quote
astra Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 If this set really is going to be on sale on may the 10th, then I really have to congratulate Lego with keeping this set a secret for so long. That's an absolute record I think Quote
cottonwood Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 To any of the members who have said they've seen the set - I was wondering if you had any recollection of a decorated sidewalk (such as the 'CAFE' of CC, the tan tiling of GG, the big 3 of FB, and the diamond shape of GE). Personally I'd be disappointed if it was all plain grey, the sidewalks are one of my favourite bits to build on the modular buildings. Quote

Did not see any decorations on the sidewalk, maybe just a little in front of pet shop. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Did not see any decorations on the sidewalk, maybe just a little in front of pet shop. There would probably be a white lamp post like in all the other modular buildings. Quote
cottonwood Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Did not see any decorations on the sidewalk, maybe just a little in front of pet shop. That's too bad. I suppose I shouldn't be disappointed until I see it. Quote
snaillad Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Just noticed the now oldest modular building '10197 the fire brigade' is now accepting back orders in most EU countries, Could be discontinued soon, paving the way for the new one? Or is that just co-incidence? Quote
Follows Closely Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Just noticed the now oldest modular building '10197 ... is that just co-incidence? I think you have another 4-8 months to get the FB. I am surprised to hear the news about the 10th! Great news. Quote

The Fire brigade will be going when another new building is released next year, It's probably on back orders as everybody is buying it after hearing there is a new one comming out. Quote
GRogall Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 I was sceptical about the release date on the 10th since we haven't heard or seen any info! but yes I just got confirmation that it's true?!....... Quote
Rick Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Actually, I really like the idea that I can order it as soon as I see the pictures for a change. Quote

merman Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I am also about to make an order, but just like you... I can wait until the 10th Someone from Lowlug spoke to Lego Germany and they did not have any info and were expecting a Summer release. Hopefully they just played dumb and were not allowed to disclose any info... Quote
Invader Zim Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 An employee at a local Lego Store expected them to arrive at the store Friday and then go on sale sometime the week after. It was actually pretty exciting already as they had the new City (Harbor, Marina, etc.), Kingdoms, and Alien Invasion sets already available. Quote
alois Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Could it be that there will be a difference in release dates between the USA (may 10th) and Europe (summer?) Quote
Ghandidcm Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Could it be that there will be a difference in release dates between the USA (may 10th) and Europe (summer?) I really don't want to believe that But is the Lego shop at home not one of the first to get the sets? Quote
Morten Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I was just in the LEGO store in Copenhagen, and the store manager tolled me that they will have for sale the 10th of may, so I am pretty sure that is when the "world release" will be. Morten Quote
