Legonardo Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 superb! is the other half still being done or was that scrapped? amazing work!
Huntleyfx Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 The fact that it ready for display while being unfinished is a testament to how great this build is.
Sparhawke Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Amazing build mate! Keep up the good work! Really love the crane and mill!
supersympa Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 you can see some more pictures taken by Will from HOTBRICKS: Fanabriques 2012 and thanks maydayartist for your update. Looks promising the castle!
mephistopheles Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 This is still one of my most ismpiring MOC's and it gets better and better!
Masked Builder Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 With my recent historical craze, I've caught myself up in this topic, you're doing a wonderful job with this MOC!
olliebojangles Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 (edited) That looks really impressive, very nicely done! Edited July 4, 2012 by olliebojangles
Captain Settle Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 It looks awesome. It added more life to the land by the way you had workers constructing the castle.
maydayartist Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Here are some additional pictures of the construction zone done a few hours before the convention. I didn't have the time to complete this so they are without minifigs. But this is not bad. You can see the details better without them Phil
MikeyB Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I absolutely love your tread wheel cranes! And thanks for the extra photos.
soccerkid6 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Very impressive, the finished project is going to be stunning I like that you put a floor in the circular tower
TheLegoDr Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Simply brilliant. I love the look so far. Great attention to detail and the aesthetic is very pleasing. I can't wait to see more. This makes me want to do something similar, but I lack time.
evan.evan.evan Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I just read through all of this from start to finish. Wow... just wow. I'm so impressed that you've had this much patience! Great job! You've gained a fan
Vindicare Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 That's all kinds of amazing! That castle looks awesome already, all the colors and different shapes integrated in...wow.
Palathadric Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 The cranes are awesome! You did a great job yet again, Maydayartist. Wish I had been there to congratulate you personally.
lego-andreas Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 amazing!! Are you going to build the castle till it is complete?
kibosh Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I absolutely love your tread wheel cranes! And thanks for the extra photos. How do these work? In real life I mean. I've never seen them before. Awesome build! I love the WIP pics of a WIP castle.
TheMagician Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 How do these work? In real life I mean. People or animals get inside the wheel - basically like hamsters :D
maydayartist Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 amazing!! Are you going to build the castle till it is complete? Yes I will. But I can't repeat this nowadays. There is another big build for me to do before. How do these work? In real life I mean. I've never seen them before. Awesome build! I love the WIP pics of a WIP castle. It is like TheMagician said. Peoples walk inside the wheel to rotate a windlass. Forwards and backwards to lift and lower the weight. It was a dangerous but well paid work for the middle age.
kibosh Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 People or animals get inside the wheel - basically like hamsters :D Huh. Never heard of that, but makes sense. Learn something new everyday! Thanks
