How can you tell the difference betwen fox and wolf masks? Due to my severely low vision, i have no idea wha is difference while tracing my fingers around those molds.

The obvious difference is the three jagged tufts on the side of the wolf face compared to those on the fox, then also the teeth, the different ears, the different shape muzzle / nose.

Thanks @MAB

They are inherently very similar @Lion King - in years gone past no doubt Lego would have just used one mould, but these days they seem much keener to produce ones with small variations. And fair play, I’d have very little chance to distinguish them by touch!

I just tried it putting them both under the table. Run your thumbnail or a fingernail downwards on the side. The wolf feels a bit like a gear / cogwheel with equally spaced jumps whereas the fox catches once then quickly slips past the second. The ears and nose I probably couldn't identify by touch alone.

Yeah, feeling the differences between those mask molds is little. It’s not exactly “obvious” as MAB said.

If you know what the differences are then they are obvious. Run your finger down the side and feel the different style tufts. That is obvious if you know what to feel for. The other one to feel for is the teeth, run the end of your little finger around the mouth opening - the fox is smooth and the wolf isn't due to the teeth.

I wi wish there would be an Archiect, art historian (with a 2x3 tile depicting of a minifigures-styled Mona  Lisa), archaeologist, harpist, trumpet player,  bio scientist (with a dire wolf pup, lol), historical artist (Michelangelo, i still can’t believe we don’t get one from TLM!), achemist, teacher, marine biologist (with a new horse sea mold), etc etc etc.

So I think we will possibly see more nods to things like pride flag colours, unicorns, and bear paws, and be left to interpret them as we want.

Yeah the Cat boy's  jumper's colouring was no coincidence! I suppose they could make some flags as accessories if they ever wanted to be explicit about it.

I mean, yes please, but I assume they will take the more ‘open to interpretation’ route, so they have to deal with less seething outrage from the easily-outraged-by-people-existing-authentically crew.

Seeing that they did a dedicated Christmas/ Holidays CMF, I wonder if Lego might do an Easter-themed one some day? To make it less religious, and less geography-specific, they could make it "Spring theme."

I do recognize that Series 23 only had 6 characters specific to the Autumn/ Winter holidays.

I wonder what other special-theme CMF they could do in the future? They've already done Monsters/ Horror, Birthday celebration, then that Holidays one.

My picks for a springtime-themed CMF:

  1. Easter Bunny (as in an anthropomorphic rabbit in a dapper pastel suit)
  2. Flower Fairy
  3. Robin Suit Guy
  4. Female Leprechaun
  5. Picnicker
  6. Egg Seeker
  7. Birdwatcher
  8. Florist
  9. Kite Flyer
  10. Mardi Gras Celebrant
  11. May Queen
  12. Jack-in-the-Green

I cannot really think of anything that is non-religious but associated with Easter outside of the bunny and an egg. So bunny suit and egg suit. I guess they could do a lamb / sheep suit.

But do people decorate their houses for Easter like they do at Christmas?

Personally, i would like to see a male florist / gardener.

We already have Flower Pot Girl, so where is Watering Can Costume Boy?!!

Sure, the Florist can be a fella. Some of these are gendered but most could be either/or.

I imagine we don't have a Watering Can Costume because that's...not really a thing? Little kids dress up as flowers for school pageants sometimes, but I don't think a watering can suit has any role in the culture.

We already have a female gardener in Series 19. Say, I call for a male one!

I have no idea you said that but i jsut think Flower Pot Girl pair up with Watering Can Guy very nicely. Sure, taking care of flowers by watering them in a culture….

Lus it’ohh yeah, and it’s Earth Day tomorrow. Say, let’s get Mother Nature minifigure.

People generally don't. But you see it quite ubiquitous in a lot of European traditions - easter cakes/ breads, egghunt, etc.

You could also argue that CNY is only celebrated in Asia and not so much in Europe but corresponding Lego sets have become mainstream.

What? No hot cross bun suit?!

Here is my spring-themed CMF Series:

1.) East Bunny (not a suit)

2.) Chick Costume Girl with a hatched egg “diaper”

3.) Flower Alien

4.) Male Gardender with a new cutting equipment

5.) Watering Can Suit Boy  Yred boots

6.) Umbrella Girl with a new (open) umbrella part, yellow raincoat and red boots Don’t get me wrong - i don’t want they use a normal 3L bar as ‘handle’ while Hagrid has a that unique umbrealla ith a curved tip.

7.) Spring Goddess (based off Persephone or Eostre)

8.) Rabbit Fan with a black-spotted rabbit

9.) Gay Easter Parade Celebrator

10.) Egg Hunter with dual-molded eggs (hopefully!)

11.)  Spring Wind God (based off Zephyr)

12.) Zombie Florist with a new dead flower

Would that be LEGO's first direct acknowledgement of Christianity in the CMFs? Honestly would be a pretty funny way to break that seal

The link between hot cross buns and religion is probably no stronger these days than the link between Santa and Saint Nicholas.

Maybe? I feel like Santa is so far removed from Saint Nick plenty of kids know him without knowing the origin but I think everyone who is aware of what a hot cross bun understands the link,  it's quite literally baked into it. I think it's very likely LEGO would consider it far enough removed to do, but it's definitely more up in the air than stuff from the modern traditions of Christmas which really share little more than a name with the classic conception of it

I doubt most kids link hot cross buns and the crucifiction, or the spices with the embalming of Jesus' body.

I think you’re reaching a bit if you think most people make that connection, ‘hot cross buns’ these days are also bastardised into all sorts of flavour combos, so I think it’s as commercialised and sold-out as baked goods can be.

I've never seen or heard of a different flavour of hot cross bun to the basic. They're not a big deal in my lives experience. Maybe I'm just living in some weird cave or something but I think it's fair to say it's not on the same level.

The spices no, but (once again, exclusively in my personal lived experience, it's not universal) kids totally got that. Again, could be I'm the weird outlier here but the kids I knew growing up definitely made that connection regardless of religious background. The cross is a hard symbol to not intuit the meaning of growing up in the western world. Or maybe it's easy to miss and I'm the weird one, dunno

Don’t get me wrong but i would like to see a minifigure based on Germanic goddess of dawn, Eostre. Rabbits are associated with her.  Even tho I’m a gay Christian here, I still want to see Anicent deities rather than the modern religious ones (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism (did Buddhism get featured in Lego sets?), Hinduism, etc).
