Karalora Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Do we have a standardized image of Eostre? It's my understanding that the only known references to her come from the Venerable Bede, who was not an illustrator. In any case, the "May Queen" I have in mind--with a pastel gown and a wreath of flowers in her hair--could certainly stand in for a springtime goddess. Quote

There might a “standardized” image of her…… She is often associated with hares and eggs, whic represent new life and revival of the Earth. She is a goddess of spring, fertility, and beginning of the of year. May Queen and Eostre are diffrent figures in different cultures, yet they are associated with springtime and fertility. May Queen is not a goddess or associated with hares or eggs. May Queen is just a figure of springtime ritual while Eostre is a pre-Christian Anglo-Saxon goddess. Quote

I cannot see LEGO doing such a figure and calling it Eostre. They don't do modern religion and she is a goddess of neo-paganism. Even calling a minifig "May Queen" might be a step too far, especially after the movie Midsommar. Using a name such as "Spring girl" is far more likely, and could be any girl with some flowers in her hair or handheld and a bunny. Quote
Karalora Posted April 23 Posted April 23 May Queen, Eostre, Springtime Girl, whatever they choose to call her...let's get a young lady with a wreath of flowers in her hair, chop-chop! Quote

We have Ocean King (Poseidon), Battle Goddess (Athena), etc. if they include Norse god / goddess in CmF, that’s also nexo-pagan religion “Heathen” or whaever tehy call it. Some of us wish for mytholcial deities for CMF series… I think using “Srping Bringer” for Eostre should be good. Why you referred May Queen to horror movie Midsommer alone, anyways? I never watched that movie before but i think. It’s silly that that movie came to your ind when you read “May Queen” word. Quote

karrit Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I'm glad I have no interest in the current F1 series or the rumored Spiderverse series. I realized yesterday that the $$ I saved on not wanting either of those will be going toward the upcoming Ideas Prize Machine set instead. Quote
hikouki Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Wonder how the F1 sales are going? I was thinking perhaps that the set would be a good way for Lego to remake some classic helmets for some classic themes (e.g., Classic Space, or a component for a knight's helmet), but the helmets for F1 are bespoke. Quote

I can see the helmets being used for fantasy space MOCs but they are way too modern (especially with the print) for castle. But not at the price of the cars, as cheaper and better helmets for space are available. Quote
Shiva Posted May 4 Posted May 4 If Spider-Verse is later this year, then those will interest me. Quote

Historically many have, just never quite in a way that lets you do the whole figure at once Oops. My bad. I thought you meant BAM i think Bricks & Pieces only ever has parts that also show up in sets Quote

If i remember correctly, i saw aa few parts form other in-house CMF sries did show up on PAB. For example, a pink satchel from birdwaatcher showed up on PAB but not minifigure parts (9head, torso, legs). Quote
MAB Posted May 5 Posted May 5 18 hours ago, hikouki said: Do CMF pieces (torso, legs, etc) ever appear on PAB? Historically, no. In fact, if a piece was missing or damaged then customer service used to send a new blind bag instead, saying that even they do not know what is inside so cannot send the correct replacement implying that they don't have access to parts either. I don't think I've seen any CMF exclusive parts on PAB online since. Quote
Lion King Posted May 8 Posted May 8 So anything you heard about F1 series? I sa the reviews on the lego S@H and it looks like they ahve vey low rating. Quote

I saw a box of them at Barnes & Noble, sitting next to a box of series 27. The F1 box hadn't been touched yet. Quote
MAB Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I don't think the reviews on lego.com are that bad. Most of the low ranked ones are from people complaining about duplicates which happens with CMF too. Then there is a very bad review complaining that they replaced CMF with these, presumably from someone that hasn't bought them. A couple of people mention generic instructions for all cars being hard to follow when it comes to different colours. Quote

FinlayTheFaithful Posted May 28 Posted May 28 New leak on reddit popped up, a Koala costume head piece without printing. Not too sure if it'll be fore series 28, but it most likely will Quote
