But - Merchandising 101 here - you can't increase sales if you're not reaching new customers. Other toy companies have driven themselves into the ground by exclusively catering to the people who were already buying their stuff anyway, and making no effort to branch out. Like it or not, licensed series help recruit new customers in ways that "regular" series simply can't. Someone who's not already a LEGO fan sees no appreciable difference between Series 16 and Series 17, but they will notice - and potentially become a new customer! - if they see a series featuring Batman, or the Simpsons, or Disney characters, or Reveal hidden contents whatever this next series is. (Made you look!) Can it be also the reason why they won't do Disney series twice? Quote

Batman Movie S2 was cancelled and replaced with a regular series 2. They changed their minds and Series 18 wont be costume themed 3. The mysterious licensed series rumor was fake and Series 19 will be released instead 3. There will 4 series next year: Batman, S18, S19 and the licensed series 4. Batman Movie S2 will be released on december this year (therefore having 4 series on 2017) and 3 series next year: S18, S19 and the licensed series In times like this I miss CM4Sci more than ever. He would drop a hint. All I know is: Batman 2 - January 2018. The Batman sets release in December but these are considered 2018 releases. This is how it always works, like the Joker's Limo/Batcave/Batmobile releasing November 2016. Those were 2017 sets. Series 18 - May 2018 License one - Aug/Sept 2018 Edited July 8, 2017 by just2good Quote

Pop Star c o Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 It could be also Red Dwarf. It was featured in Dimensions, too. Quote

Yeah as a cameo room, no minifigures or anything, I seriously doubt know that Lego won't do Red Dwarf, no children are gonna be interested in that! Quote

The final clue is something to do with dimensions and since the Super Flarrow Verse (you can quote me on that) has nothing to do with dimensions. 4. We've had a TLBM series in January and another in January with potentially DC super heroes. Not happening. Quote

Well true it isn't an old theme but it's not impossible because it is licensed and actually STAR labs is in Lego Dimensions (albeit an Easter egg) Quote

jjr_2009 Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Harry Potter seems to be the most obvious answer. We'll see though! Quote
greenalfonzo Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Hogwarts castle is confirmed to be in the next FB film. I vote for that to be the the big direct to consumer set, with the individual fig packs allowing you to populate it from the era of your choosing. Quote

jjr_2009 Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 I have a lot of the minifigs from the most recent wave as well as both Hogwarts sets and Hagrid's Hut. Both the sets and the figures are brilliant so I would welcome more! (In other words I'm going to be a little bummed if it doesn't turn out to be a Harry Potter series) Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 While I've said before I personally would not be interested in a HP/FB CMS, there is one good usage I could see coming out of at least a FB CMS, and that is plenty of characters in 1920's period set attire. One thing that was great about the sets from Disney's Jerry Bruckheimer film themes (POTC, The Lone Ranger, and Prince of Persia), was that their minifigures were in a very realistic, gritty style that otherwise would not have been seen in figures from an original, similarly period set theme. So if we were to get a FB CMS, you certainly would be able to exploit some great period set torsos/legs for reusage. Quote

I hadn't thought about this possibility but I'm liking it. I just hope if that's the case there isn't too much fleshie showing. Not that I really mind fleshies, it's just that my current (and foreseeable future) collection has a lot more customizing options for classic yellows. Now all we need is some one who knows to confirm or deny HP/FB. Edited July 11, 2017 by rodiziorobs Quote
