Well, we already know the black paint roller will be in 10246... I'm most intrigued by the green maraca, mostly wondering whether it will be used as an actual maraca or something else.

We just got a review of Series 13 earlier today. You know that, right?

Not sure if the Hairpiece will be used for CMF's though. So far it's only appeared on two figs in licensed themes (Aquaman and Green Arrow). Personally, I think it would look odd on a yellow fig.

Actually, I agree with you. Probably will be in a Super Heroes or Jurassic World set, but the seller primarily sells new pieces that are made in China. Maybe a promotional minifigure for Super Heroes?

Ah, forgot about that.

In this interesting interview, Tara Wike, LEGO design manager for the Minifigures series, answers a few question about the CMF theme

When she was asked about a "throwback" CMF series, she said "never say never" :oh:

Interesting at about 3.00, she says that they try to make the ones they think are going to be popular more frequent. Which implies that they think that all the female characters in S14 are not going to be popular.

Plus, they have fewer females to begin with...Lego needs to increase their gender equality when it comes to minifigs. (Sure, the opposite can be said for the Friends line but those are dolls.)

Great interview, thanks for sharing! Lots of interesting tidbits of information there.

I'd really like to see that mile-long lost of theirs! Maybe take a highlighter to it!

I 100% agree! More female characters are a must! Particularly those with distinct characteristics and non-happy faces. With all the half-cyborg heads we've seen, not one has been female! Likewise there are very few "grimacing" or "serious" faced female figures, whereas there are an excellent selection of male faces like that-and many with grimace and face marks too!

Good to know that they're trying to make popular ones common. It'd sick to have them as "rares" since then the total quantity is lower and they'll likely all get horded by army builders.

I think the "potential popularity" has to just 1 criteria, but there are certainly others (maybe cost)

Look at the Series 11 box distribution:

There is no way they thought the Scarecrow or the Island Warrior wouldn't be popular minifigures

I really thinks it depends on how much does the singular minifig cost to TLG, not about popularity

And that the mountain climber and welders would be.

They know exactly what they are doing, making the popular ones rare. They just cannot say it.

I was looking at old series thinking the same thing. There were only 3 Ocean Kings and Aztec Warriors in their series. There were only 2 Fortune Tellers and Forest Maidens in their series, but 5 Policemen. There were only 2 Bumblebee Girls and Medusas, but 6 Skydivers in their series.

And on that last one, there were only 2 Trendsetters and Sea Captains. All these rare minifigures tend to have new molds, like the Medusa tail, Bee wings, Chihuahua, and Seagull. So perhaps cost is a bigger factor.

just2good posted this, regarding CMF S16

And we all know what happen when j2g posts about something.....

Hmmm, I'm thinking Series 16 already- a Banana Suited Person would be like, the logical answer to another suited figure, that and/or a Penguin Suited Person, another Pirate seems likely (ugh), heck maybe even a female Boxer, we need more female sport figures...

My thoughts:

Banana Suit Guy would be interesting! (I'd like to see an Ice Cream Suit Girl)

Penguin Suit Guy! Awesome!

Pirate? We don't have a female pirate or a regular crew pirate in the CMF line yet! Awesome!

Female Boxer? Awesome!

It's obviously quite true, but you can't use Series 11 as an example because it was an anomaly. At least the other series contained at least three of each figure. With S11 they stupidly tried to match the "half" boxes of 30 so that two of them would be exactly the same as getting the full box of 60... it was dumb. And they stopped doing it.

It happened in Series 6 as well

They included just 3 SleepyHead, Genie, Roman Soldier, Clockwork Robot and Lady Liberty per box. From those, the Roman Soldier was the biggest surprise

No, S6 was "normal," in the sense that you got at least three full sets plus extras - and you didn't get six of some undesirable figure. S11 HAD to have an even number of each in a box of 60 because they wanted it to match exactly two boxes of 30, which couldn't have two full sets in it - so you got SIX of some, and only TWO of others - a horrible distribution. Now, why it wasn't four of most, and two of some is beyond me. Like I said, S11 had a worse distribution than the others.

So I'm not referring to desired or not, or female or male figures, but that the S11 distribution model made it worse because some figures could only have two of each. It was a terrible distribution, and people complained, and they went back to including at least three of each again after that.

Thank god!

I've seen it listed as 71013 for September 2016

Is that correct? :look:

No, 71013 is the set number for the Disney CMF series (May 2016) so it should be safe to assume the number for the regular Series 16 will be 71014 (September 2016)
