I need some rest and some time to think and before taking a nap I'm going to read a book called "The Unofficial School Handbook".

Oh my god Hunter, stop arguing with god... :hmpf:

But Brody is right: No Scum would draw attention to himself like that, although I have no idea why he's doing this, it's probably not a trick of the Mafia.

I don't really know what to do about the quite ones, since we don't really have any evidence that they are scum. But still, they could be hiding something...

Sadly, at this point, we have two choices, and one results in a penalty from the voice in the sky. We can A: Not have a conviction, resulting in said penalty, or we can B: vote at random, avoid the penalty, and risk losing a town member who is innocent. I believe that we must do the latter. Personally, I would expect someone who has posted just once or twice, said little, and tried to make as little an impact as possible to be our best bet.

I half agree and half don't with you Lily Lamb.

We should try to make a conviction and thus avoid a penalty but we shouldn't blindly vote for someone just for the sake of a conviction. Those who have said little could be scum trying their hardest not to draw attention to themselves. Or the scum might be the ones be shouting out, to make it seem they are being too obvious to possibly be scum. :hmpf_bad:

I'm not going to vote just yet but we should try and be eagle eyed to catch out the scum

I agree with Brody and my partner Gregor, Mafia types like to draw as little attention to themselves as possible, which is why Randy appears suspicious to me, but, he has drawn attention to himself by not participating. This may be a not be a scummy mistake, but not participating can be as dangerous to our towns well-being as scumming.

Poor Patrick! He was such a colourful character :cry_sad:; I'm staying away from that bakery, it's just apples for me from now on. So we've also had a Mafia goon working in the store under our noses, but at least we know who he is, it's the ones we don't know about that worry me the most. In addition, it seems the goon was the last person seen holding Patrick's camera, so I doubt we'll be able to get hold of it, although it would great if we could.

Hunter has really been acting strangely, and given that he's managed to incur the wrath of the almighty, I'm more likely to believe he's been drinking the profits of his bar again, rather than acting suspiciously, however I am not going to rule out the possibility it might be both.

As many have said, I'd also love to hear more from Randy Rabbit, he's unusually quiet. However there have also been a lot of people talking about things that, given our current predicament, are by comparison a little inconsequential. I fear the consequences of not reaching a conviction; I sincerely worry what the voice in the sky will do to us, and it is more likely to disadvantage those of us who are innocent. Plus it is likely to be cruel and unusual.

We are limited somewhat by time; over half the day has passed and we don't seem to be getting anywhere :sceptic:

I must agree with Payton that there's been a lot of talk today that just seemed to make no sense whatsoever - I could even go as far as to question some of our neighbours' sanity. But I guess everyone really is panicking, even though we've tried not to. We do indeed find ourselves in a very strange situation - with Hunter now officially deciding to keep quiet until further notice and hence being unable to explain his bizarre behaviour throughout the day; and my husband being, well, officially AWOL. In Randy's defence, I can only say that he tends to do these kind of things and I guess it's in his nature. He's a bit distant but I just don't believe that my husband could mean harm to anyone. To be honest, I'm genuinely scared right now - everybody has their loving partners beside them to help them through this horror, and I'm left all alone worrying about where my husband could be and whether he is safe and sound... :cry_sad:

I for one am at a loss. I just want to fix things with my husband, but the town comes first right now. I'm working on my suspicions, but I'm not entirely sure. I say wait until more speak up, but not make a hasty vote. We need to analyze everything everyone says, the mayor and us citizens.

As much as I sympathize with you Betsy, we are dealing with a mafia infestation thus no one is above suspicion not even those we care about most. :cry_sad: The mafia will show no partiality thus I don't believe we should either.

Defend myself against what? I have done nothing! What are you acussing me of? Not showing up early; I don't think I'm the only one to be watching the conversation. I'm just trying to figure out who is scum before accusing people of it.

Or maybe your scum Candace, as your trying to root out the townies?

Betsy, sweetie, I don't.

And neither does my mother.

I'm sure we'd all love to see Randy again, not just to ask him where he's been, but to make sure he's OK. However, if he's up to no good, then we have to protect our friends and families and note our suspicions.

Oh, you spoke over me :sceptic: well I'm glad you're OK Randy, but we are concerned that you haven't said too much today.

Storming in and pointing fingers doesn't make you look much better..

Alright I think we all need to calm down a bit. It is time to vote, but I don't think we're going to get anywhere by making wild accusations. I also don't think we should just blindly vote someone off, as we're more likely to convict an innocent.

I do find it odd that Randy only appeared once thus far, and that hunter was babbling on about nonsense, but other than that I haven't noticed any really suspicious trends.

Well I just thought that thinking I'm scum because I didn't talk much is ridiculous. I think that most mafia goons are the people that talk the most. Maybe those who are accusing me are just nervous, but I can assure you that I am loyal to the town and my wife Betsy!

Your presence has been noted Mr. Rabbit, however so has your absence. And while it is true that there are others who have been not as actively involved within the conversation, the times they have contributed they have made attempt to advance our objective in rooting out the scum. It is true that at times we might have private affairs to attend to, but your lack of conversation combined with your lack of meaningful contributions or attempts at such, make your case more suspicious in my book.

Well I'm trying right now, as your wasting your time trying to check me out. I may have been suspicious as I didn't say much earlier. But there is also no evidence to see if anyone is scum. But we do have to vote someone off.

If you wish to vote me off, it will be those accusing me this day that will be seen as traitors to the town. I have pleaded my case, and I will vote against those who I think are scum. I'm sure my loving wife will do the same.

Thank you for your cooperation Randy, but as you stated we need to convict someone. I'm not sure I follow your logic that whoever votes for you must be traitors to the town. You said we must vote for someone, so are you saying that if we vote for someone else (not yourself) and you join along, that you must be part of the mafia?

Posted

I see Randy has made a reappearance! I don't want to convict a townie at all. In fact it would be nice if we all survive! (not including the scum of course) So I won't rush into this and go and convict you just yet Randy.

Posted

I agree with Brody. Those who take initiative are not necessarily scum, I'd hazard to guess that usually the followers who bandwagon vote are more frequently the scum, as it is a relatively safe way to avoid attention. That being said, not everyone who bandwagon votes is scum, most are just worried townies.

No-one who is part of the Mafia is going to say "That's right, I'm suspicious!", unless you're brazen about it like Langston's Mafia Goon Squad.

We know that statistically some of us are Mafia, I don't think that anyone has acted really suspicious yet - Hunter's in his own little world - but we must convict someone or face further problems.

Well I'm going to vote someone, I just haven't decided yet. I'm not going to vote someone just because others are. I said that I will vote who I think is scum.

Well that's all any of can really do at this point. I am also glad to see that you're becoming active now.

Well, I suspect Randy to be a mafia member. The more I think about it, the more certain I become. It seems like all he's done today has been defend himself, even when not accused:

Defend myself against what?

...thinking I'm scum because I didn't talk much is ridiculous. I think that most mafia goons are the people that talk the most.

Well I'm trying right now, as your wasting your time trying to check me out.

And use the fact that there's no evidence on the first day as most of his entire argument:

I may have been suspicious as I didn't say much earlier. But there is also no evidence to see if anyone is scum.

Furthermore, he has said many things in his limited posts with which I disagree and/or am confused by. It seems he hostilely targets everyone who is suspicious towards him. I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's time to act. I'm gonna vote, and I hope it's not wrong. Please don't get angry at me if it is, also I'm absolutely not certain, so I'm open for a counter-argument or a more likely suspect. I'm just worried about what would happen to us all if we don't vote. So far, Randy is the most likely candidate, so... Vote: Randy Rabbit/Alex the Great

Eeep.
