Brig. Brick Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 yep, Barboza is my first "Fleshy" I the design of the torso, the new bicorne and the new scabbard, the best of the new POTC Quote
Churchill Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 That's funny. I like the way you presented it. It's good to see you combining medieval and pirate (and POTC) themes. I'm sort of doing the same thing. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 *Barbossa Yes indeed. Do you want me to change it? (and I think Barbossa himself would prefer to be called "captain" Barbossa )Anyway, nice comic. I like the idea and the editing, but the picture quality could be improved a little. This is my favourite minifig of the PotC series so you made a good choice to use him. Quote
Red Bricks Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I think as per the latest film he would prefer to be known as Admiral Barbossa Quote
Brig. Brick Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 1º my camera died long ago, this was picture made with my cellphone, thats one of the reason why I´m short of post lately 2º ..."Barbossa"... I know that it's a character name, but it´s a spanish name after all, and when you say it on spanish, it change the feeling. when you write "Barbossa" instead of Barboza, Its like say "Juan Gorrión" instead of Jack Sparrow... horrible! (hey!, "horrible" it´s really the same in spanish than english ) 3º And about if he is captain or admiral.... I have to say, I HATE the POTC movies, and the classic lego pirates that I always love since I was a kid were stoped just to bring this franchise from all POTC minifigs, Barboza is the one that has less flesh (white gloves and no flesh in the torso) after I took those pictures, I ripped the fleshy head and immediately replace it, as a Bluecoat commander. if by chance I come across with more fleshy, their hands will become in my monkey legs, and I assure you if the Lego will finish as a disney franchise, (poor quality and short of imagination ), I will not regret to back to my dark age and finish my colection as I have it now Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 So much hatred! 2º ..."Barbossa"... I know that it's a character name, but it´s a spanish name after all, and when you say it on spanish, it change the feeling.Okay I understand about that. when you write "Barbossa" instead of Barboza, Its like say "Juan Gorrión" instead of Jack Sparrow... horrible! So Juan Gorrión instead of Jack Sparrow would be horrible? Seems like you disagree with yourself. 3º And about if he is captain or admiral.... I have to say, I HATE the POTC movies, and the classic lego pirates that I always love since I was a kid were stoped just to bring this franchise from all POTC minifigs, Barboza is the one that has less flesh (white gloves and no flesh in the torso) That's indeed the same reason why I like his minifig so much. But according to your comic, it seemed you rather liked the fleshies as well. Anyway, I tend to disagree with you because outside of the fleshies and some misprintings, this theme offers a huge variety of new parts and minifigs. I doubt if a new Classic-Pirates line would be possible to have so many new parts (and with so much detail). But I'm not saying the PotC line is better. Quote
Captain BeerBeard Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 That little comic is ridonkulossa. I love the pirate drinking from the wine glass. It looks like he's laughing his megablocks off at the fleshie. Quote
