Ecclesiastes Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 (edited) When the viking-theme was released, I fell in love with it! This was a nice welcome in variation of the sets, because now I could make an army to plunder the knights who thought they were safe in there castles. With the sets also a lot of new torso's and heads came to the lego scene! Thank you lego! But unfortunately, the theme stopped far too soon! So hereby my version of the vikingship! I viking-pimped the ship and now the whole medieval-lego-scene tremble because this ship sails the seas! Watch out the vikings are coming to middle Europe! They are looking for villages to plunder and they fear no one! They have everything with them what they need: Lots of weapons to fight. Pigs to eat. Horses for battle and transportation of treasures. Dogs to hunt down pigs or other animals for food. You name it, all what is needed for a quest is on the ship! Overview / Side The bow of the boat / The ships ballista What's for dinner? Pig! / They landed The whole folder Edited June 29, 2011 by mcdenbesten Quote
Duke Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Very nice ship, I love your little commentary and the idea of a ship of angry vikings bearing down on the assorted lego castle knights. As you say, this theme was over to quickly and I sadly missed out on it. Quote
Hoboman Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Wow, this is a great ship. I think you did a good job in adding to it. I can see why "the whole medieval-lego-scene trembles". Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I love it! The dragon head is realy nicely detailed. Only thing I can sugest is to make diferent shields on backs. Quote
ED-209 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Very nicely done. It really makes me wish there had been more sets in the Viking series, and perhaps more varieties of helmet too! Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 Very nicely done. It really makes me wish there had been more sets in the Viking series, and perhaps more varieties of helmet too! Yes, and helmets that would fit properly, because when you turn a viking upside down most times the helmet will fall off! I love it! The dragon head is realy nicely detailed. Only thing I can sugest is to make diferent shields on backs. I thought of putting different shields on the ship, but when I did it, my conslusion was: Al the same look better! It also represents a tribe, I have two others viking-ships who also have different simular shields! Quote
brickmack Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Nice Viking ship. Are the sails custom made or official LEGO ones? Nice ballista design also. It's kinda bugging me though that the ends of the ship are dark bley, I think it would look better if it was brown like the rest of it. Quote
Ralph Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Well done on the ship, the pig is a nice touch! Ralph Quote
Stormbringer Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 The vikings didn't have lunch boxes back then, so they brought with them bacon and porkchops! Hehehe... Btw great work on the ship. Those guys sure look fierce. Quote
Gabe Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 (edited) Nice mod! Your ballista sure looks better than the odd technic missiles that were in the original 7018. Edited July 4, 2011 by gabe Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted July 4, 2011 Author Posted July 4, 2011 (edited) Thanks everyone for their comments! Nice Viking ship. Are the sails custom made or official LEGO ones? Nice ballista design also. It's kinda bugging me though that the ends of the ship are dark bley, I think it would look better if it was brown like the rest of it. I tried it but, then it would be to much brown, now it's.. not that much brown but maybe it would have been more historicly correct! Nice mod! Your ballista sure looks better than the odd technic missiles that were in the original 7018. That's why I wanted a ballista on the ship instead of the also odd "automatic viking canon"!
