Ignited_Impulse Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Just got an email from Legoland Florida for setting up an interview time. Anyone else on here apply or going to interview? Quote
fred67 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Just got an email from Legoland Florida for setting up an interview time. Anyone else on here apply or going to interview? Unfortunately, there is no suitable jobs there for me to apply to that wouldn't be a huge step down. Not only would I really love to work there, but I'd love to move away from where I live right now. Ignited_Impulse Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 Unfortunately, there is no suitable jobs there for me to apply to that wouldn't be a huge step down. Not only would I really love to work there, but I'd love to move away from where I live right now. I live only about 40 minutes away. It would be a pay cut for me as well but I'm looking for something more flexible to allow me to finish college. Not to mention I kinda hate my current job (The House of Mouse is not built on magic and dreams, but rather despair and misery). Even if I'm offered the job not sure I'll take it but anything is possible. Quote
fred67 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I applied for an IT job anyway. I'm doubting they can even come close to my current salary, but then there is no state income tax in FL, and I would probably enjoy the job more than my current one. Quote
Hoboman Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 The House of Mouse is not built on magic and dreams, but rather despair and misery. Kind of funny. Why would anyone go to work for a major corporation and then expect it was going to be fun and dreams? Work is work. The "Majic and Dreams" are for the paying customers, not the paid help. Quote

Lego Otaku Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I'd go but it's a rather long commute from Michigan to Florida Quote

I've worked for several Fortune500 Companies running the Gamut from McDonald's to Texas Instruments and some companies do a pretty good job of keeping the worker bees satisfied. Quote

Yup... some do, some don't. I consider myself lucky at the moment, although a nice change of pace (moving to Florida and working in some capacity in the hobby I love) would be nice. Plus FL has no state income tax. And... I hate living in GA, although I don't know how much better FL would be. Quote

Normally I'd say anything but Florida is nice but I don't think I'd want to be in GA either. Have family there and it's where my Dad grew up so I've been on several occassions. Any state that can get hotter than Florida is someplace I'd prefer not to be :P Quote
