Vinyl Scratch Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 PLEASE LEGO. PLEASE make a Scarecrow figure. I would buy twenty of them just because it's Scarecrow. Quote
Omicron Squad Leader Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 PLEASE LEGO. PLEASE make a Scarecrow figure. I would buy twenty of them just because it's Scarecrow. That would be cool. P.S. Are you going to provide "shaky-cam" footage of the Savage Planet credits? Everyone is eager for it. Quote
Mesonak Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 That would be cool. P.S. Are you going to provide "shaky-cam" footage of the Savage Planet credits? Everyone is eager for it. Agreed. That would be. Make it happen, Lego. And yeah, we're all waiting for the shaky-cam footage. Not necessarily because anybody thinks you're making it up, but mainly because it would be definitive proof and would be enough to verify it. -Mesonak Quote
Dorek Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I can corroborate it, as I mentioned on BZP, so it's legit. Still no high res pics of the Marvel line? Wanna see some decent pictures of Cap. Quote
Aethersprite Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I can corroborate it, as I mentioned on BZP, so it's legit. Still no high res pics of the Marvel line? Wanna see some decent pictures of Cap. Yeah, seems odd that the Marvel ones are not finalized yet. Quote
dviddy Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Pretty sure the Marvel ones come out after the DC ones? Quote
Mesonak Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Yeah; they're sets in the summer wave, so it stands to reason we won't see finalized pictures of them... until we see finalized pictures of summer sets. Like at ToyFair. Quote
Dorek Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Oh, are they? Makes more sense that way, what with the Avengers movie and all. But we have seen the Iron Man and Hulk ones, so I kinda figured we'd have seen a few more pics by now. Ah well. Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Who said that the Marvel sets will be released in Summer? Then why are the three Marvel sets on the same page as the DC sets here? LEGO just doesn't want to show all the sets before launch. Quote
Aethersprite Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Yeah, seems odd that the Marvel ones would be summer sets, given that Lego has already shown us prototype pics. Quote
vexorian Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Yeah, seems odd that the Marvel ones would be summer sets, given that Lego has already shown us prototype pics. Probably contractual not to have Marvel and DC in the same wave, to keep the labels happy with the non-exclusive deal. Quote
Brickthing Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Probably contractual not to have Marvel and DC in the same wave, to keep the labels happy with the non-exclusive deal. I was surprised enough that LEGO got both licenses, so I agree with you that there's probably something in the contracts to keep the sets separate. The Avengers film is almost certainly the reason that Marvel sets are being released in the summer, and why we have the 3 specific characters that we have and not others instead. Along with the Marvel minifigures that were much less finished than the DC figures, the 2(/3) Marvel action figures were only shown to announce the upcoming partnership to excite retailers and probably add to the Avengers hype. Aethersprite Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 A pity, as I'm more of a Marvel fan than DC. Hope to see the finished Marvel sets in Toy Fair next year. Quote
Nightcruise Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 With Joker around, I do hope to see other foes in the line. I really hope they do a Batman Beyond set. Quote
averick Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) So, ive got one question? why is lego partnering with marvel and dc, comic book gods pretty much, and not making lego models of the biggest superheros of both companies ??? where is the superman mech and where is the spider-man mech, thats the real question. pretty much mr dc (superman) and mr marvel (spider-man) are both missing bad move lego! on a side note cant wait for these to come out!!!!!!!!!! it would be cool if spider man and supes show up, kinda have a feeling about supes since he will appear in the new lego batman sets!!!!! I think it largely has to do with which heroes are in the Hollywood spotlight at the time. Marvel is focused on their Avengers movie, and DC is using Batman (an eternal favorite, and I'd argue more popular than Superman) and Green Lantern, who recently had a movie of his own. Don't worry; if these are successful, I have no doubt that other characters will be made as sets. Quote

Sure, it's gonna suck, but it's still a Spider-Man movie to be released. Quote
CabooseBM Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Keep in mind that they both have color schemes mighty similar to Captain America's. Quote
Jouster Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Green Lantern & Batman @TRU Le Green Lantern Le Batman (nanananananana) Quote
Shakar Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Wow, they're..pricey. Of course they were going to be more expensive compared to HF sets, but come on. Quote
Nightcruise Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Then again it is TRU and the they have been bumping up the prices on many things as of late. I'm hoping this is the case, I hate to pay that much for purple parts from Joker just for a moc. Quote
Mesonak Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 (edited) That's likely TRU's usual markup, from all reports they will be $14.99 elsewhere. Honestly, I'm not too sure if I'll be picking these up. I think it would be in my best interest to bricklink the specific parts I want from all three rather than paying for the actual sets. I'll have to think it over. :/ Edited December 4, 2011 by Mesonak Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 No change for me, I still say I'll get these blokes: didn't realize till just now, that's Bruce and Bruce Still hoping to see a fixed up finalized hulk really soon though. No reason to not have fingers, green muscles, and purple pants Quote
Aanchir Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Well, the descriptions for Batman and Green Lantern mention an "all new powered-up suit" for each, which is sort of how I was expecting the variations from the typical depictions of the characters to be explained. "Power armor" is a timeless gimmick for action figures, whether it makes sense for the character or not. It's only natural that it'd be used here to explain the quirks of the HF-based build, like Green Lantern's lovely bulky shoulderpads. Quote
