Vindicare Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I may just get the B-Wing, I do like them and don't have any of the previous. Me neither. Let's hope it's not TOO expensive. Quote
Mr Man Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I'm hoping it will be better than my version since it is in bits at my feet waiting for the destroy or rebuild pics to be released. Please rebuild it, we don't like destroyed MOCs here . Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 On the superheroes forum they are talking about the possibility of the set to be announced being Batman, I really hope it is the B-Wing I'm way more excited about it. Quote

Bilbo Baggins Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Could the B-Wing be put on hold untill the next wave? Quote
Mr Man Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Could the B-Wing be put on hold untill the next wave? The next wave is the 2013 sets, the B-Wing was definitely listed as a 2012 release. Quote
Masked Builder Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Is the B-Wing supposed to be a UCS set? Yes it is, the first post in this thread has some very good information. Quote
DFOL Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Yes, it has been posted as set 10227 UCS B-Wing on the first page of this thread for a while now, but that is about all we know on this set. I do believe someone mentioned a piece count of around 1500 parts, but i don't know if even that bit of information has been confirmed so far. I have been waiting for pictures of this set with great anticipation. Quote
North Lego Star Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Well according to Brickipedia, the B-Wing will have integrated Power functions. To me, this means two things, one, that it will be pretty big(around 1,500-2,000 pieces) if lego wants to cover up all the Power Functions and two,the B-Wing will be minifig-scale. If it dose end up including minifigs, I hope to see a Mon Calimari Pilot, a new B-Wing Pilot and either a Lando with Rebel General Uniform or an Ackbar. Either with or without minifigs, it will mostly likely be close to the 275$-300$ range, this may seem like a high price but, if lego was to be able to make the wings move into and out of Attack Position with the power functions and make the ship minifig-scale, I would have to reconsider this set. Hopefully we'll see pictures really soon that will either disprove or prove these rumors. Quote

It also says this: A teaser for this model was shown in the Winter 2011 Catalogue, in the background of an image of the Super Star Destroyer. Anyone got a pic? The_Chosen_1 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 To me, that teaser picture points to the fact that it will be minifigure-scale. The X-Wing and TIE Fighter that were teased in the same photo both are, so it only makes sense. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 It also says this: A teaser for this model was shown in the Winter 2011 Catalogue, in the background of an image of the Super Star Destroyer. I remember there was speculation about that last year some time when there were rumors that the B-wing might come out late 2011. Whoever wrote that on Brickipedia might be taking that speculation and the rumor of a B-wing this year, and connecting the dots. It doesn't necessarily mean that that was an intentional teaser placed by TLG nor does it confirm (or disprove) an upcoming UCS B-wing set. Quote

Hopefully we'll see pictures really soon that will either disprove or prove these rumors. Well, power functions are by lego.wikia present even in sets 10199 and 7052, with light brick only. I would not expect more than just light brick in engines or so. Full power functions would be ideal for R2-D2, but it included none. Why would they now integrate them into B-Wing if not into R2? Quote
Fuppylodders Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 (edited) I hope that if it does include power functions that they don't compromise the 'complete hull structure plate covering' making it look like it is really made out of just technic sorta thing... I prefer my UCS models to look complete, not half finished with motors inside them... Especially as it is supposed to be UCS Whether it is a teaser or not, I'd say its too far fetched to be able to distinguish whether it is minifig scale or not just by seeing a tiny grayed image with no detail whatsoever apart from an outline... cavegod Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I'm not convinced on the PF but I was told that it would be cool if it had a new gyro sensor to control the cockpit rotation. Quote
Masked Builder Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Yeah, I'm not expecting PF motors either. A gyro sensor would be cool, but the gravity always worked for me. Quote
CaptainCRO Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I hope B-wing doesn't have motors. Especially if it is an UCS set. Quote

I would think a $200 B-Wing would be far larger than minifig scale, although I would love to see new minis with it (I haven't looked at the dimensions of the B-Wing recently though, so I could be wrong.) hohesC Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Hi guys! I just got back from my vacation in Denmark, and I had the oppotunity to talk to some LEGO Star Wars Designers at the LEGOLAND Billund Star Wars Days (which were rather disappointing, really). One of them told me about the B-Wing, and even tough it wasn`t much he revealed (I actually hoped for a sneek-peek or something), he told me that it is not going to be motorized and will hit the shelves in late August/early September. Cheers, C* Quote

Cheers, C* Thanks for the information! This is what I expected, it will hit U.S. Beginning of September, and will take the spot of the Imperial Shuttle which will be discontinued to make room for the B-Wing! It makes perfect sense! Also the price range will be between $200-$300 (Like the Imperial Shuttle was.) Quote
