autobrick Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Glad to see a picture of the remaining six, and I have to say they look great. Even the Flamenco dancer, with no new pieces and a somewhat disappointing interpretation of a flamenco dress, is still pretty nice. I noticed there is no 'Jungle Boy', so we will have to wait until series 7 (or later). Can't wait to get my hands on these. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 WOW! That bedhead hair is amazing! And the doctor with the hairnet and x-ray chart is simply superb! The toy robot is gonna be a HUGE hit for me, as it will add some variety in my space MOCs. The only fig I could do without is the Flamenco dancer... Any chance this fellow got pics of some of the other themes? Quote
Ardelon Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 About time we saw the whole series (a few months before we officially should, that is) ! So, 8 out the 16 are figs I guessed/hoped we’d see (though with some 70-80 tips, I was bound to get some right) ! Though I had hoped for a butcher, I was surprised TLG actually made one, I thought a cleaver-swinging guy with bits of meat would be too gory and "unconstructive" to create. Up to now, he and the highlander were my favorites, but now he’s facing stiff competition by the bandit and the legionary. The flamenco dancer should have been given a pair of castanets, something like the belville clam piece. Strange this series doesn’t have any sports figs. I’m not complaining, as I’m not a fan of those, but I wonder whether Series 7 won’t want to make up for this to the detriment of historical or sci fi figs, which wouldn’t be so great. Quote
captainsamus Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) This series is close to being my favorite yet. Every one of them is great. The Flamenco Dancer is a little meh, but all the rest make up for it. Here's hoping the surgeon has a double-sided face without his mask. I wonder whether Series 7 won’t want to make up for this It'll be a whole series of different Surfers, Snowboarders, and Skateboarders. Speaking of which, there is one skateboarder in this series, so sports isn't entirely unrepresented. Edited September 8, 2011 by captainsamus Quote
andhe Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 So it's great to finally see all the figures, but is it just me or are the ideas becoming a bit ... tired? Undoubtably I'll collect them all (as I have done for 1-5, despite the hideous snowboarders/skateboarders) but some of these just strike me as a bit freaky eg the sleepy man with the teddy. I hope the highlander has different hair and a better sword (being prelim) and the bandit and fan lady are just rehashs of previous figures. I think TLG need to slow down rather than trying to churn these out and cash in. Needless to say tho, the minotaur, leprechaun, genie and roman soldier are pure win (and the soldiers undoubtably be collected in their hundreds). But as always the ones I hate others will love and vice versa. So it's all good! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Thank you very much for the link to this picture, Bane! Series 6 looks completely amazing! Together with series 4 these are the best two minifigures series of series 1-6. I now only comment on the before not seen minifigures (and there even only the ones in which I'm interested): The Roman legionnaire and the surgeon look completely amazing! I only hope that in the final version the surgeon will have a scalpel. I really like it that TLG releases a bandit in addition to the cowboy, Indian and Indian chief! The woman's (Which job does she have?) teddy looks lovely. The flamenco dancer looks good. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Bricksan Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Series Six does look very good and there are some awesome mini figs in this series. Quote
Wardancer Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) I wonder if the roman's spear is the spear elaborate we already know from the Indian ans Spartan. It would welcome it because it would decrease their price on bricklink maybe and I need a lot for my elven army. However, a new type of spear - someone mentioned a pilum - would also excite me. Does Statue of Liberty look like she has not the usual female bottom? The angle looks different on the picture? What do you think? I hope she is still sand green. [Edit: it was just my eyes, I confused it with the thing the holds in her hand) I will get 6-8 Minotaurs, 3 Statues of Liberty to make forest spirits and that is it. I am also excited about the tower shield of the Roman. I like the shape, but the colour is not suitable for my elves. Maybe for customizing but we'll see. I have always loved the roman turtle formation, where the whole regiment is covered by shields. So maybe I'll hunt them down for spears and shields and sell the rest. 2,50 per fig is unfortunately too much if I were only interested in the spears. Edited September 8, 2011 by Wardancer Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I can't say "SQUEEE!!!" enough to convey my delight at this latest round. I must have them all!!! Quote
SpiralSJ Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Haha I think the Roman soldier is super cool. It's probably on par with the Spartan after so many series. The surgeon, teddy-guy and butcher look great as well. The surgeon could probably go well with the S1 Nurse, but a pity he's holding another syringe. IMO, the minotaur looks a little kiddish although it's definitely a novel figure to add to the current collection - the length of the axe is too short and doesn't look deadly enough. Haha just my opinion. I'd really like to see a hospital or a clinic set under the City Theme. :) And of course, more warriors and soldiers cos' they are way too cool. Quote
jonwil Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) I think the doctor/surgeon would have looked better with a scalpel or stethoscope. In fact, since these are preliminary images, things may change and we may get such a thing :) Edited September 8, 2011 by jonwil Quote
vexorian Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) I doubt it. All the other new molds are already visible and the surgeon already has a new piece in that glorious X-ray sheet. So I don't think there would be a reason for the syringe to be preliminary. But if things are so preliminary here, then I am hoping the pajamas guy turns out to have small minifig legs. Jedi master Brick Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 The Roman is awesome. I also lake the bandit, Butcher and barbarien. Too me this is the best series Quote
LandShark Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 This series looks awesome! And, it seems that the early picture we got of Lady Liberty had the dress slope the wrong way around. Weirdly, there's no sports 'figs, but a lot of country-based ones. But, all of them still look great, there's many I'll want multiples of. Quote
Peanuts Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Jesus, that's great. The Roman won't be hard to identify, so hopefully they won't be all taken by the time I get to the store. And hopefully TLG will add five per box. Since most people "cheat" anyway, it wouldn't be their problem. And the Bandid is really cool as well. I missed the Cowboy from series 1, so I can need this guy. And black revolvers! Does anyone see if he carries one or two of them? The pyjama guy is...creative. Not too good, not too bad, just something I'd never have dreamed of. I like the bear and the hair, so I'll possibly get one. Nothing too special about the Flamenco dancer, though. Roman, Bandit, Highlander and Minotaur are must-haves. Statue of Liberty, Genie, Mechanic and Leprechaun are also nice. Looks like it#s going to be an expensive series. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 May I add that I'm extremely happy to see two sci-fi figs (or one if you don't count the robot as one) in this series, after not seeing any sci-fi figs in series 5? Quote
Sandy Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Great to see the full roster finally! I have to say that this is definitely my favorite series out of them all. The genie, the minotaur, the leprechaun, the spacewoman, the pyjama boy, the statue of liberty (which I hope will be sand green in the final version), the highlander, the legionnaire, the skater girl, even the flamenco dancer... Such wonderful concepts! I just love them all! I'm glad they're taking a break from the sports figs, the previous series had way too many of them in my opinion. May I add that I'm extremely happy to see two sci-fi figs (or one if you don't count the robot as one) in this series, after not seeing any sci-fi figs in series 5? If you count the toy robot, there's actually three sci-fi figs in the series - the alien, the spacewoman and the robot. Quote
Phyre Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 It seems like the first three series were kind of tests to see which figures would work and which ones wouldn't, because since series 4 pretty much every single figure has been amazing! Here's my thoughts on the whole group... My two favorites and the ones I will try to amass the most of are the alien and the minotaur. I like the highlander, and will probably get several of him too (especially for the new sword). The butcher, leprachaun, skateboarder girl, and the genie are among my favorites as well. The mechanic, statue of liberty, and spacewoman also look good, but probably will only get one of each (maybe two mechanics) to complete the series. As for the final six figures... The Roman is somewhat disappointing for me for some reason... I'll probably only get a couple of them. I think the Series 2 Spartan was way cooler. Not that I don't like the Roman, I just think he's not as cool as he could have been. Maybe official pictures will change my mind. The surgeon is awesome, and the toy robot is cool. The bandit seems kind of boring, the flamenco dancer likewise. I wonder what the person with the bear is supposed to be. It's obviously someone in pajamas, but it's an adult because of the legs... And it's also hard to tell if it's supposed to be a male or a female. I wonder what LEGO is going to call it... All in all, a fantastic series! Quote
Roger Rabbit Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Look what I've got for you, mein lieber ;) Picture of the Collectable Minifigures Series 6! And don't forget to check out the new Lego Star Wars pictures. Greetings -Bane I can't see the photos, this is killing me!! Apparently it's a private page.. Quote

KyleJohnson11 Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Hey everyone who can't see the picture! I've got it uploaded on my blog: http://sportbricks.blogspot.com/ My thoughts on the series.... I am still itching for an American Football Player or an alternate jersey for the hockey player or baseball player. I am however very pleased with all of the other figures! Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I'm glad they're taking a break from the sports figs, the previous series had way too many of them in my opinion. I agree here 100% with you. If you count the toy robot, there's actually three sci-fi figs in the series - the alien, the spacewoman and the robot. Right! I forgot about the pink-suited lady! Although I do feel pink is kind of cheesy, and would rather have one of the Classic Space colors, this is certainly a nice addition to the collection. Interesting pattern for me, is that series with even numbers are always among my favorite. Currently, my favorite series is 4, although 6 could take that title away! Quote
Eldervampire Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) YEE GODS !!!! I haven't even gotten a single one of the CMFs yet and they are on series 6. HHHMMMM......Dear Santa..... Edited September 8, 2011 by Eldervampire Quote
