ACPin Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Not into completing the set, just got the all the ladies for my wife and just Centurions for myself! Still ways off from building my legion. AC Quote
fred67 Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 For those of you who do not live near a LEGO brand store, where do you buy your sealed boxes? I would love to just buy a box and be done with it but don't have a source (besides bricklink, of course). TIA The same place people who live near LEGO brand stores buy their sealed boxes... because The LEGO store will not sell you a whole box. Ebay and various resellers online will sell complete boxes, sometimes you can find people on bricklink with them. I bought from an ebay seller (MSRP) and a toy store I found online (can't remember the place), also for MSRP (that is, MSRP for 60 packs). Quote
Perry the Platypus Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 My store got 3 boxes of S6. I got all of them. Quote
IAmWillGibson Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 My store got 3 boxes of S6. I got all of them. I can't see a compelling reason for that but... good? Quote
GeluNumber1 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 (edited) I was at Toys 'R' Us the other dayu, and a box of S6 was there. I only got one- butcher- and I can honestly say he's one of the best to get. Hopefully, they'll still have some Thursday... Edited January 26, 2012 by GeluNumber1 Quote
Clanure Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 (edited) Picked up 19 random at local Target. Thought for sure they were going to be picked over. Was pleasantly surprised to get 3 centurions, 2 aliens, 2 highlanders, and 2 Minotaurs. Rounded it out with 2 skater girls, 2 mechanics, 2 butchers, 2 leprechauns, a flamenco dancer and a lady spacer. Have one complete set now, working on number 2. Skater girl and leprechaun are the losers of the bunch, imho. Edited January 26, 2012 by Clanure Quote
Tytus Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 (edited) Went to my Target yesterday, and approached the endcap where the Minifig pegs are located. From behind, I could see that they were filled with white bags! Hooray! But then I look from the front, and see that they are only Halo/Marvel/Hello Kitty impostors. And the tags still say LEGO. A-hole employees... Edited January 26, 2012 by Tytus Quote
Ogre Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 The complaint at our local LEGO store was that the Flamenco Dancer and Statue of Liberty were hard to tell apart. It's the fact that both have the same slope for legs, whereas in the past if you found that big slope you knew you had the one female in the set with it. It really does not seem to be that much of a problem though - just feel for the statue's torch or the dancer's fan. Easiest way to locate Lady Liberty is actually via her 1x2 tile. It slides down into the corner of the pouch very easily and she's the only figure with one. In addition, she has the soft rubber hair/spiked tiara. Quote
autobrick Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I picked up a random 37 and managed to get 15/16 figures (I will return the ones I don't want duplicates of). The only one I'm missing is the Roman Soldier. I hope that I missed it because I was unlucky, and not because somebody else went through and bought them all. So far, since Series 3, I have only made one mistake using the feel method (S3 Alien). That's more then a 98.4% success rate! Quote
Homer_S Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 TRU in Kitchener On Canada has them now as well, got 2 more robots, and alien and a genie as well as 2 of the new large display cases, they were on an end by the checkout not in the isles with the other lego. Quote

I think the problem is a lot of people are army building with this one, but I think in a couple weeks or so it should be easier to find (I hope...) Quote
Canada_7 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I got a bunch and after a while of feeling around, I got 15/16. Can't find a single Celtic/Highland Warrior though. I got my bunch from the Fairview Lego Store and a St. Catharines Walmart. Somewhat odd considering from the past few posts it seems its the Roman that people are struggling to find but can't say I'm surprised I guess. Quote
Artizan Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 purchased some bags, turned out they were all female figures:\ I was hoping for a legionerre... Quote
GeluNumber1 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 My mom got me two collectable figs today. One minotaur, and another butcher. >.< Why me? Sure, I like the butcher, but he's too common. BTW, does anyone have a bumpcode of S6? Quote
dark1san Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 From what I've gathered from reading other posts/boards. Lego decided to randomize the bumps so they'll never be the same. Like they got rid of the barcode hint, now they've gone away with the bumps as well. The people who've said this could be wrong, but that's what I've read. Quote

Then how does Lego keep the ratio of figures in check? (as in, two aliens per box, five minotaurs per box...) That wouldn't be too profitable. Quote

Wellllll, maybe the fig bags just are in separate containers in the manufacturing plant, stored in diffirent containers etc. thus, a machine/person takes the certain amount of bag from certain containers to the 60 fig box? gasior1 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 this has been the easiest series to collect the whole set for me. 2 trips to Walmart. First trip bought 30 bags, felt through them at home. Opened 13, kept one unopened Roman. Returned 16 (I don't want to hoard them) and felt through their remaining packs in store to get the last 3 missing from the set. Awesome!! If only the Robot had more of a square box head instead of a rectangular box. If that was the case it would've been my favourite. Quote
just2good Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 (edited) I just picked one up from the Learning Express store. I pulled the skater girl. All I have to say is the hair reminds me of somepony. "Dear Princess Celestia..." Video of them at my Learning Express! Edited January 28, 2012 by just2good Quote

Darth Caedus Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Home from college this weekend and Series 6 had hit town so the army building begins :) Cherrypicked 4 cases in Toys R Us and about the same amount's worth in the Natick Lego store. Bought out every single one of their Roman Legionnaires (There were only about 1 or 2 left per case so I probably wasn't first to the plate, but I made sure to leave absolutely none behind) and a dozen of the Braveheart warriors. A good start to the army, but I'll be keeping an eye out in case it hits my local walmart as well, can't get enough of those Romans. Quote
Shroffy123 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Hey all, any one having difficulty finding the Roman soldier? I've been feeling for the spear, without success. I went through 3 boxes today, didn't feel a single one. Any suggestions? Maybe I should feel for the shield? I've found the minotaur (very easy) and the William Wallace minifig very easy. Maybe the Roman is the least among the set? Quote

LEGOman273 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 The boxes I went through were hidden behind other packs - they looked untouched. Nevertheless, feeling for the spear, not an effective way to find that fig? Try for the helmet. The pole of the spear could be anything, and the bases might feel like the shield. Tip 1: Dig your fingernail (gently) into the piece to get the shape. I found my S5 Gangster by feeling the indentation on the top of the hat. Tip 2: Call the store and ask them when they usually get shipments, so you can have the first shot at them. I hope this helps. Quote
