After going over the different cups, it's also interesting to note that all the players with Beginner's Decks were quickly eliminated. Not exactly surprising, but still worth noting.

I get why it wouldn't be entirely fair to match NPC and PC deck strengths(and it would take a significant additional effort on the QM's end), but on the other hand, it begs the question of why exactly even offer Beginner's Decks, if the player is almost certain to lose...

Ah, well - the more glory to the person someday who wins with nothing but a Beginner's Deck, I suppose.

Do you ever stop complaining/begging/acting slighted?

You spent 5 fake gold for cards. If you lose every single round, you wind up losing 5 fake gold. If you win at least 1 round you have 2 cards, at minimum power 1 & 1, you can trade in for 2 potions = 10 fake gold.

You got to participate, and you got some neat prizes at a very low cost. Isn't that something, at least?

You still have years until you can even reach the Expert Job Classes, so you shouldn't feel bad for missing the main prize - you get other chances in the future, I'm sure of it!

Something I've been stewing on and Sandy just pointed it out, everyone does realize that if the Decamon Tournament becomes an annual event there will be more opportunities in the future to participate, no? I wouldn't expect a lower level hero to win the tournament, they'd get access to the class but at the rate this game moves, they're not going to actually use it for another 1-2 years. Higher level heroes have a greater chance of winning because they have the greater chance of utilizing the class, plain and simple. :shrug_confused:

I was not trying to complain, I was pointing out that all the players with Beginners Decks were knocked out of the tournament quite quickly. It was a more than fair game, and I have no complaints. Heck, not balancing Decks was probably one of the most real-to-life moments the game's had.

Again, I apologize if my comment came off as complaining. After several comments in the past I've tried very hard to not do/sound like that - clearly I need to try even harder.

It was a very enjoyable(if brief) game, and I thoroughly appreciate having been allowed to participate. Again, my sincerest apologies if I gave off a different impression. I enjoy this game immensely, and extremely appreciate all the effort that goes into running it.

I wonder how someone could possibly win against a 10 Ethereal to win the mystery prize...

It doesn't seem to me like it is possible, it's the ultimate card. Nothing can beat it.

Actually, you're right: The ethereal 10 prize is unobtainable. No one who acquires that card can ever lose it, and no hero has it... No matter what it'll be locked into the hands of an NPC.

Unless it's forfeited as the grand prize for winning the match, sort of how the Decamon Drafter is given to those who won their own cups.

Which is why I think a "first card wins ties" rule would be a good addition to Decamon after the first cup; it fixes both major problems with the Ethereal type: the Ethereal 1 being useless, and the Ethereal 10 being unbeatable.

Is there a way I can just choose which five cards to hand Atramor for the sake of convenience and expediency? He literally auto - wins three rounds in the hand regardless of what I pick. (I'm just joking, of course--getting a decent pick-off or two via Rounds I can win would be a more than fair consolation prize, and I wouldn't want to give up on that. )

I'm in favor!

...Unless someone hides it as a drop in a quest. *Gets ideas* *

Not seriously, my almost-finished quest** already has too many over-powered drops. I'll have to probably make some severe edits to the loot lists before it can be approved.

**As in, literally almost finished. The only reason I haven't finished and submitted it for approval/disapproval is because of my schedule.

You can decamodify a certain enemy to get it...

Is trading of cards allowed between games?

Absolutely not! You had a chance to buy cards and trade them before the Tournament, but now that it is on, you have to go with what you got. What you do with your cards after the Tournament (or after your participation in it) is your business.

I repeat, the players still in the Tournament cannot trade cards or buy more of them.

Now I've been eliminated, I can reveal that my nefarious plan was to get paired against someone with all power:8 cards, and even though I'd have a low chance of winning, I'd be statistically likely to trump at least one card, which I'd exchange for a gem, and so make a 95 gold profit.

Unfortunately I was not lucky enough to trump a power: 8 card, but I still gained a card Erik can exchange for a Health Core, from a 5 gold deck of cards. Still good profit, and besides Decamon Drafter wouldn't really fit with Erik anyway.

Trumping an an 8 was my dream play ...

I actually bought the Rock hand specifically to be able to trump an Icy 8 and walk out with an Opal, but no luck. Oh well hahahaha.

Oh, man, picking the party for my quest was honestly a huge pain. I was struggling between two parties (One with levels 28-33 and one with levels 10-23), but in the end I went with the one that I thought was going to be easier on me. The mechanics might be a pain, but balancing should work out better.

I just want everyone to know that I would've taken all of you along if I could've.

Topic will be up later! Going to have a busy afternoon, but after that I'll have time to get on and put it up. Expect it within the next couple of hours! Excited to get underway.
