Cutcobra Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 By the way, did anyone else see the new post in the Training Room? Because it was amazing. If you're talking about the one from Jimbee and Sandy then I believe just about everyone saw it. Quote
Asphalt Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I did and it was awesome. I have a lot of work to do to make one even half so readable. Quote
Asphalt Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) Not really a rules question so I will post here. Are there any examples of good solid weapon broom builds lying around? Having a hard time coming up with something other than a stick. Here is what I have so far. Nothing terribly impressive I'm afraid. Edited February 16, 2015 by Asphalt Quote
JimBee Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I'm glad people enjoyed the Training Room post. Maybe this discussion should be in R&D, but I was wondering about artifact suitability and retrofitting the suitabilities to fit new classes. For example, a lot of the artifacts that were suitable to mages, clerics and necromancers could be suitable to weather mages and scholars as well. And equipment for the tanky classes (knights, regulators, dragoons and skirmishers) could be used for the new vindicator class. Sandy has done some editing of the Marketplace artifacts to include suitability to new classes, but what about the artifacts in people's inventories? Should they see some retconning too or stay the way they are? Thoughts? Quote

I remember my Robe of the Elven Necromancer was created before the existence of the Necromancer class, so Sandy and Doc worked out its suitability here. Quote
Asphalt Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Are there that many artefacts that would need to be changed? Quote
Flipz Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Are there that many artefacts that would need to be changed? More than one might think. For example, Doc made an Artifact way back (Robe of the Pongcanis Champion) that was suitable for Mages and Barbarians; nowadays, it should probably be suitable for Necromancers and Weather Mages (and similarly, my Dastanian variation upon it should probably account for those classes as well, though only if Doc adjusts his original). We've added a *lot* of Expert Classes recently, so there's quite a bit that could do with updating. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Not really a rules question so I will post here. Are there any examples of good solid weapon broom builds lying around? Having a hard time coming up with something other than a stick. Here is what I have so far. Nothing terribly impressive I'm afraid. What about a yellow or tan 2877 on the end of the stick? There's also two official "broom" parts. The minifig sized one would probably be too small, but the larger Belville one would match your figure. Quote
KotZ Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I would say take the Belville broom and put those hollow technic tubes up the broom. Have an area that your character can grip the shaft, and then add a stick at the end and add more technic tubes to finish it off. Quote

I remember my Robe of the Elven Necromancer was created before the existence of the Necromancer class, so Sandy and Doc worked out its suitability here. I think it would be up to the player holding the artifact to discuss with Sandy/the QM who dropped it/the general public. For example, I've tried retconning a few items but they've not been fixed in the players' inventories (Sword of Decay, Flute of the Magi). Also I'm sure many QMs aren't even aware of the items they've created that could be retconned. Quote
Zepher Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I think it might be worth doing, in all honesty. There are some items I'd like to fix over-all, though, seeing other items that have since been dropped. Quote
CMP Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I'd be happy to check with Sandy and retcon any artifacts I've dropped if a player with one of them asks. Quote
Palathadric Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 ...or Monk Pretzel about the death of a certain Blue Assassin. I don't think this would be a good idea...no I just don't. ...and I'm still mad. Quote
Cutcobra Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Result of Round One of the Encore Battle: Bobby vs. Shifty - Special Damage (Chop Legs - Bobby: 7 health+3 SP-6 dmg=4 health+slowed) >Darksten (Crossbow) vs. Shifty - Special Damage (Chop Legs - Darksten: 21 health+2 SP-(6/2=3 dmg)=20 health+slowed) Leofwein vs. Sneaky - Special Damage (Mine, All Mine! - Leofwein: 6 health+1 SP-5 dmg=2 health, -30 gold) >Laureline (Fine-tuned Guitar) vs. Crafty - Shield/Cheer Up (Sound of Music - Lucky Chant: all allies lucky for the remained of the round) Which one of you guys cursed the dice? Quote
Zepher Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I think it must have been all of us. This is the worst luck I've ever had on a quest. Quote
KotZ Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 126ers, I'll have the round up later today after 2pm, my time. Quote
Flipz Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Clearly you forgot to cover them before engaging in a grapple, so they became offended by the grappling rules. Quote
Cutcobra Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) I hope each of the heroes in #124 get a Loaded Dice as an extra reward Edited February 17, 2015 by Cutcobra Quote
Sandy Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 I hope each of the heroes in #124 get a Loaded Dice as an extra reward Wouldn't do them much good since they've been rolling only 5's and 6's throughout the quest. Quote
Zepher Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I usually slay a goat before each HRPG battle, but I've not done it this quest... perhaps it's my fault. Quote
Cutcobra Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Reading up on the archdemons I think it would be cool if there were seven "archangels" who instead of the seven deadly sins represent the seven virtues.. Quote

Actually... If someone wants to feature archangels in their quest, feel free! Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 If someone wants to feature archangels in their quest, feel free! Angels/Demons, Virtues/Vices? Think we just laid the framework for the first quest featuring the Vindicator's Seal for the Vindicator class. Quote
