And hopefully Hoke will get an armor upgrade shortly.

Oh no you don't! :sing: I just upgraded my stuff, I can't keep up :sweet:

Sandy, I know it's annoying to be asked so frequently so much about it  ; but there will inherantly be unbalanced factions in the clash. How, if at all, might they be balanced? :classic:

Again, you are making assumptions on what the event entails. It won't matter if the factions have an uneven number of heroes on their side.

But you won't have to wait for details much longer, because I'm certain I'll get the event up by this weekend.

You're better off just waiting for a good drop on a quest than upgrading that edgily named weapon. Try and buy one of the Halberds or Lances I sold to Flipz, who hasn't used them  Getting a 100% chance for an effect is pretty OP, ala Conspirator. I remember the argument over that being OP . Besides, you've had the fast track with leveling.

No argument. Normally, I would have waited for a drop, but there were reasons why I wanted to have a halberd in my inventory as soon as possible.

And...facepalm. I just realized that a Scroll of Frailty would only grant 1/2 chance of Frailty, in #135, not 100%.:blush:

Change that to "Halberd, WP:1, 1/2 chance of Frailty..."*

Bear in mind for example, that I've been doing Heroica nearly 3 times as long as you, so that may explain why, at only 2 levels higher than Lind, I have a rather OP build in comparison.:devil: Though those netherwings and that armour are pretty nice

Yeah, the armor+Plasma Shield+#122 were part of the reason I named it "Star-Breaker". Trying to go for kind of a "lone knight standing against the fell forces of...aliens" theme.

EDIT: Lind should run a secondary poll of what OP character us lower levels will follow blindly in fear. Quite a few of which are on #139 :look:

No problem, just give me a list**. :classic:

Probably NPCs - or it could be more based on strategy(e.g., puzzles), than on battles. (Although I think the first is much more likely.)

**Not that 100% wouldn't be nice, but 1/2 would be just fine...

**(Not that such a list shouldn't be easy to make, but just to make double sure I don't miss any worthy names.)

And actually, on the subject of Quest 135...not to screw y'all over entirely, but Pretzel and Thormanil are Soul Linked...shouldn't they both be puppetstring-ed, then? :look:

Posted (edited)

That was my thought at first, but the special's wording specifies that it can only control one person at a time.

Soul Link Chain (Allows the user to pair up with another party member, both of them gaining all the effects that the other has. The partner has to equip the chain as well (ie. one chain can be shared by two people); Accessory)

Monk Pretzel and His 99 Pieces, the Super Sleuth (Palathadric)

463-year-old male "hermit" Artisan

Level 34 1/4 *Immune to Magic and Healing* *Lucky* *Hastened* *Triple Exp* *Soul Linked: *Immune to Darkness, Light, Water, Fire, Wind, Earth, Lightning, and Asleep, Blinded, Bound, Confused, Fragile,Slowed, and Weakened** *DANCE MACABRE*

That's an effect. :look:

If immunities take precedence over class negatives(Black Knight Stunned SHIELD roll+Black Knight armor=no Stun), I don't see why the Soul Link Chain wouldn't over-ride the one hero clause. The Chain is supposed to transfer all effects - good and bad.

It's up to Sandy, but without further instruction, if I were QMming, I'd assume they were both Dance Macabre'd.

Hmm...

Maybe the puppetmaster gets overwhelmed by the logical contradiction and Logic Bombs himself out of existence?

It's not a "class negative", it's a simple application of existing rules. Black Knight SHIELD applies Stunned to the Black Knight, while the armor (or ANY artifact that grants immunity to Stunned) prevents the Black Knight from being Stunned. It's no different than if the enemy had a skill that said "[enemy] deals *Stunned* to anyone who successfully attacks it".

I vote for this solution.:thumbup:

Either that, or an Infinite Improbability Drive materializes out of nowhere and lands on him*.

Good explanation.

*I actually had to do something very much like this for the RP thing I asked about a few weeks back...

I opted not to have it that way. Dance Macabre is not an effect, really, it's more like a "stance" like Sentinel and Guardian Angel. I could have made the enemy hex the target of Dance Macabre, but I wanted this to work a bit differently.

Tamper with the crime scene and completely frame someone Sarge and Eric when Sarge and Eric drop off the bodies.

FTFY. :poke:

Matthias isn't following any of them. He only has eyes for the beautiful Phflynn Phflyspyrhyr!

Trying to go for kind of a "lone knight standing against the fell forces of...aliens" theme.

You know, because Heroica is a single-player game and all.:laugh:

It may not have rooms, but I imagine that some people get away with catnaps in the corner.

A fair number of Heroes do have established external living arrangements--Ellaria, Karie, and recently Arthur have at least mentioned them. Beyond that, I'm sure that a lot of Rangers are fine living off of nature outside the city, and the Rogues probably get by just fine sleeping in the streets.

Maybe that's the real reason the Arena isn't open anymore--it's where the Veterans shoved all the homeless Heroes.

Guts lives on his ship.

A lot of Heroes when not on a quest also seem to exist in a perpetually drinking state, so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of them slept in the hall, even if that's not how it's supposed to work.

Matthias has been doing that a little lately because he's been depressed through his last few outings (and because I as a player felt like that was the default); I've been wanting to explore it further. However, the Gnomes of Eubric seem to live in Zylstra, and I keep wanting to take Matthias down there, but it hasn't happened yet. Any QMs going that way soon? Homeless gnome seeks fellowship of own kind. Will fire cannons for food.

Always assumed the Hall was an inn as well. Everyone knows Hoke's spot in the Hall though.

Well, Atramor's been doing it for four years and he was the first person in the Hall, so nobody was around to tell him not to...

I like to think in the Hall nobody sleeps because everyone is anxiously waiting for new quests to be posted. Like Christmas as a kid.
