Rider Raider Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 When your party is confused like crazy and your enemy has mockingly low health, the last thing you want is for him to be singing this at you: "Never gonna let you live, just wanna make you die. Always gonna burn your bones and then desert you!" Quote
MysticModulus Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 When your party is confused like crazy and your enemy has mockingly low health, the last thing you want is for him to be singing this at you: To be fair though, this quest has a distinct soundtrack! Quote
Flipz Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Family is visiting for the weekend, so my posting will be even more sporadic than usual. Quote
Flipz Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 OoC: The Flickr-url to my portrait seems to have chrashed. I did a quickfix and added a picture directly hosted via eurobricks in my signature. However it's slightly bigger than the 100 x 100-standards so I haven't changed it in the statistics. I hope the original url will fix itself (not likely I guess...). Sorry for all the trouble WBD! That means all of the urls for that photo have permanently changed, likely due to a change in visibility permissions. You'll have to go back to the Flickr page for your avatar photo and generate a new sharing link. Quote

dum Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 So in quest 149, it appears we will be deciding the future of who sells tonics. What does everyone else think about whether or not the Ziegfrieds should be able to sell their own tonics? Quote
CMP Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I doubt this actually affects anything outside Quest 149. It's entirely up to your party. Quote
Flipz Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I doubt this actually affects anything outside Quest 149. It's entirely up to your party. Eh, I mean, I'd be more tempted to offer cheaper Tonics in Quest stores if the Guild had known competitors who knew how to make Tonics. But that's kind of how all Quests work in general, so... Quote
CMP Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 You know, this does beg the question of why the Guild sells Tonics in the first place. Quote
Flipz Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 You know, this does beg the question of why the Guild sells Tonics in the first place. To rub it in mages' and clerics' face how much the mages and clerics need them. Nah, in all seriousness, it seems like the Guild is fine with clerics, they just have a thing against mages. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) How long do you think it will be before the Guild decides that ether users are too much of a liability?" ...The people that are paying the Guild to make the tonics are a liability? When do you think the sign of a mage will be branded on every cleric and wizard's hand? When do you think the banishments, or imprisonments, or even executions will start?" Is he supposed to be over-the-top? Because I'm pretty sure civil war would break out between the Alliance and the Union before the Union would just let the Guild start executing their members... Because I'm pretty sure civil war would break out between the Alliance and the Union before the Union would just let the Guild start executing their members... He's assuming the Union wins the war. Not an unreasonable assumption, if the Ziegfrieds are Ether-starved; the Bonapartes have a significant navy, but the Hinckwells seem to be better-geared for defense than offense whereas the Shadeaux are better-geared for offense and the Ji Pei and Guild bring with them significant resources and technology, specifically healing resources (via Potions and Chi Monks) and ignoring SP (Tritech technology). The Ziegfrieds are Sunwell's primary offense and primary means of countering Union assets, without their help the war suddenly becomes very one-sided, and so weakening them at all is a very quick way to speed up the progression towards war (since without the deterrent of "the Ziegfrieds will absolutely wreck stuff up", there's much less reason for the Guild to not push for open war).
