Hoke needs Guts to cameo in the last quest and gift him the Mail of the Renegade Commander. :D

For all these years, you didn't dream about Heroica, and just now you do. :hmpf_bad:

Good to see you around, Scuba! :sweet: We could always use an OP arm on our side.

Dang. I just started reading the final quest, and I can’t possibly be the only one who noticed the entire quest’s uncanny resemblance to the story and tone of this, right?

Is @Cutcobra (Heckz) going to make an appearance to? It seemed like he might show up at some point (from what I read earlier).

Maybe, but his last visit was on Feb. 17. Unless he and WBD have something scheduled for later on, I fear we've seen the last of HEROICA's resident flamboyant sorcerer...

Good to see you, Flare! By the way, Monk Pretzel is still holding onto that Steak that he got in Quest 42. Though I have yet to run into another vampire.

Welcome back, Flare! Great to see more old players checking back!

If you do join up again, I wonder which party you'll wind up with?

Good to see you too. Ahh, that's great, too bad the steak hasn't gotten more action

Very cool to be doing a final tour of Eubric - bringing the Original Veterans back is such a smart choice for how to end this thing! Making me pretty sad I never got to bring my story to an end - I’ll have to write up what the final quest would have been soon. Regardless, very excited about the direction the quest is going in.

So is the Quest 159 the finale? After that everythings locked up and done?

Well, I guess the game had a good long run.

Well their was talk about a version two, but if it comes to a reality is anyone's guess.

That is the intention, things were getting a little slow around here and with a lack of participation and people to run quests, I figured it'd be better to give the game a fitting end. There's been talk of a second game, but I think it'd be best to wait a little bit after things wrap up. I've got more thoughts, but I'd rather hold off on having that discussion now.

Yeah, makes sense. Version two would be interesting but as the current version has lost momentum I wonder how much interest would be put in just a new RPG. I dunno, as you said it'll be best to wait to discuss until after things are wrapped up.

I have also been following the finale from the sidelines, and I've got to say it makes me so happy that the community is all coming together to finish what we started, even though I ran out of steam personally. :cry_happy: I love seeing what you all are doing with the world and characters I created for this game, and looking back I think I held onto them a little too tightly back when I hosted quests. Of course it would've affected my plans, but so much of them changed over the years it wouldn't have mattered much. But yeah, I'll be definitely looking forward to the big finish.

I still don't have time for building LEGO even though I keep collecting them in the hopes that one day I'll be able to return to my creations. I also miss creating games for this forum, and I hope I get to return to that too. I do have an unfinished document for a revised version of Heroica's battle system, but of course if a sequel was to be published one day, it would have to be more than a one-man-show.  I still think that a message forum is a great place to host an RPG if the mechanics are honed towards the challenges presented by players participating from different sides of the globe and all that. The battles need to be faster, the calculations simpler and the level scaling taken well into account. But it definitely can be done, and Heroica is still a living proof of that, despite the fallacies.

Well, I'll just slink back to the shadows for now...

Message from the returned Founder...*oh2*

Seeing what you wrote brightened my day. :sweet: Thanks once again for all of you have done here, Sandy!

And thanks to WBD too for putting together what has been a very intriguing finale.
