Scubacarrot Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I just realised something, Nagure the yeti, got a yeti-coat. Is that a coat for yeti's or a coat made out of yeti's? Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Is Nagure wearing a relative as a coat? That's hardcore! And thanks again WBD for the Swashbuckler class, from which I have incorporated some of your ideas. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I'd hoped Hlin had the shield he had earlier, but I guess he's an adventurer now, and no longer a guardsman! Quote
Rumble Strike Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 You mean the 50% health removal Shield roll? For a minute I thought you meant an actual shield, and went back to the first pic of him from the Darkstar Quest to see if he had one! I thought that special was too powerful in use for an NPC, and wanted to try out some of WBD's Swashbuckler ideas. Quote
Flipz Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) Holy heck, Thormy, you're like a front-row Sorcerer with that sword! And you do damage on a SHIELD and gain Gold on a Miss! ...nice stat build! In other news, I know it's a pain waiting, but I really, really, really want to wait for that item switcheroo I mentioned in 53. Now that permadeath is about to happen, we need to have our builds optimized; after Hoke and Arthur are both Level 20, I'll ask Alexis for the Lens back and let Hoke use the Counterstrike Gloves, which will make him a Free Hit champion (has SP AND Counterstrikes AND has a 1/6 chance of dodging Free Hits). swils Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) Yeah, I only had to give Doc the Armor Sundering Scroll, a couple hundred gold, and my soul. Pretty solid combo though. Now I just need a pair of Lucky Dice or similar... E: To clarify: I feel as though, by giving Doc the scroll, I have contributed to the making of a min-maxing monster. Mixed feelings, heh. Pyrovisionary Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) I just realised something, Nagure the yeti, got a yeti-coat. Is that a coat for yeti's or a coat made out of yeti's? I think it is a coat for yetis, pretty pointless seeing as they already have fur! But it was for the sake of it!! Edited January 5, 2013 by Skyrimguy Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I don't see 12 SP as pretty pointless. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Also, Talking of optimizing builds, What do you mean by that? I know you want to get to max efficiency but.. How would you plan to do that? Ok, Gimme an example on how to optimize Sarge? Quote
Flare Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Everyone pick an artist to steal lyrics from. Can do Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I think people just mean to be the most powerful for the class they are, the way to optimize that is through items, for example: A druid should get items that enhance their healing and make sure they aren't stopped healing. A spellcaster that focusses on scrolls (Flipz), should get items that help that, Skrall, having a 20WP weapon that is also slowed, optimized that weapon by getting an item that stopped him from being slowed. Sarge is already pretty powerful, he got an extremely powerful artifact and a very cool weapon, he can always attack four enemies now. What I would do is try to figure out ways how to enlarge the usefulness of that. With the items that you have now, Witch would be a great advanced class for Sarge, Get a Witch's amulet, and you are able to deadly poison four enemies in one turn. Quote
Scorpiox Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Scorpiox, I think we just out-Flipzed Flipz. Flawless victory! One knows one's done well when Flipz can't wall of text one's wall of text. Quote

Alternatively, you could go Assassin and have a shot at Assassinating up to four enemies per turn. It's all in where you want to go: Witch can self-heal, and is great if you want to inflict a lot of Effects (Witch works well with Scrolls and weapons that deal effects), but that's going to come at something of a cost as you buy artifacts and items you'll need. On the other hand, Assassin wouldn't really need much investment (since you'd obviously not care too much about using a bow since your scissors have that useful dual-strike effect), but it comes at the cost of less assured damage and a SHIELD that does no direct damage at all. As yet another alternative, you could even stick with Rogue past Level 15 and build your strategy around super-powerful Mugs, coupled with the Nostrum-Mead strategy; it's all in how you want to play your cards. Flawless victory! One knows one's done well when Flipz can't wall of text one's wall of text. Also, nice touch, WBD--those two cadets don't have uniforms because Arthur stole them. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I think it was decided for Hybros that weapons that hit multiple enemies on a hit or crit only give the assassination chance on the main target, I'm assuming it'd would work the same for dual weapons, so that's why I did not say assassin. Wedge09 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I saw that you were talking about optimizing builds; can I ask you, as Skyrimguy, an exemple of strategy to optimize my character?? Quote

Oh, that's right. But the weapons that hit all enemies still have the Assassination chance on all (at least, that's how Sandy seems to have been running it in Q50 ). Quote

Yeah, Rouge is the perfect class for sarge, but I wouldn't get any health bonuses. I've weighed up the pros and cons and losing the chance to get gold doesn't really matter when I have other pros such as increased health and the ability to heal and poison or whatever. And Mirror AND Hex. The Witch class is awesome, dude. Look through Quest 40 and you see Atramor is really spicing up the battles, very fun to QM, as well. Angry Seaweed allies, they might be the best thing. Quote

Hex is one of the the most underpowered Shields out there, but like you say it pales in comparison to the other features anyway, namely Special Mirror. And yes, spawning new allies is fun. Most of them put elemental summons to shame. Quote
Zepher Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) Oh? I must admit that I can't find it in Quest 50 when I just looked. The Bladearang had a chance to assassinate all enemies when it hit them in Q39, as per Sandy's ruling. EDIT: I also can't remember, but I'm pretty sure, ALL weapon's effects are only used if it's a physical attack, spells disregard them, right? So the explosive staff and book, when used by Nyx, would only have the ability to do it's 1/2 to everyone or summon when she physically attacks? Edited January 5, 2013 by Zepher Quote
