CMP Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Damn it. Well, that was an awesome fight, anyway... Quote
Wedge09 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Screw the stats, being k.o. Is boooring! Unfortunately, it happens Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Love the image of Alexander, Wedge. Quote
Wedge09 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Thanks TheBoyWonder , I don't like my first image completely and I decided to do it again. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 It looks really good, especially with the cape and the bow. Quote
Wedge09 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 My idea was to recreat the moment where Alexander is seeing where the arrow go after he had fired with his bow. Thanks Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) I double that! It's awesome! Edited January 14, 2013 by Skyrimguy Quote
Scorpiox Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Sorry if I don't seem particularly active in Quest #53, comrades, I just can't think of anything to say... Quote
Flipz Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Could try to extract info from Arthur. I'm not saying it'd be easy, but now'd probably be the best time to try. Quote
Zepher Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 That's okay, Scorpiox! We are sort of stalling for the other parties (imparting important information while doing it, but stalling all the same). Roleplay with who is around, or be silent, I never doubt you are all following along and will speak when you need to! Speaking of role playing - Atramor sacrificed himself. It didn't work, exactly, but he still tried it, and it was still awesome and a great moment. I hope everyone is happy to see some old faces again. It's nice writing for people who are already established, it makes the whole story more stream-lined when you don't need to explain who people are. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 You're doing a good job Zeph! I just wish we could go help out in the other fight!!! Quote
Endgame Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Amazing RP, 48ers. 2 princes down, 1 to go... you are officially on the last leg of the quest! Quote
CMP Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Wasn't much of a sacrifice, then. Actually, my first plan was for me to use Bomb XX to finish off the undead since we were pretty much screwed anyway, but figured we could withstand having to get rid of one more of them next round if we survived. So close, though. Oh well. It was easily one of the most intense battles since the Dastan Palace fight. "Paid? So is that what this is about?" "Of course, isn't that why you joined Heroica?" +10 Rogue Points. Edited January 14, 2013 by CallMePie Quote
Endgame Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Well then, can't start a quest's climax without a little bit of party distrust, can we? Romulus... it has a nice ring to it. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Bonus points to whoever knows why I chose it. Quote
Palathadric Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 "Are these bonus points as mythological as the name?" Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Yes, and Palathadaric, well done on the origin of the name. Myths. But what myth? I feel a Flipz like question coming on. Why is you character named what its named? Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 So close, though. Oh well. It was easily one of the most intense battles since the Dastan Palace fight. I hink you guys could've pulled it off if there had been even one less minion or if Zee had started with less ether. Great effort. Quote
Palathadric Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Monk Tetzel/Monk Pretzel that's the closest I get, I don't know exactly... I really don't know exactly. Quote
Endgame Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Romulus twins: the two kings who had to decide who to name their city after, right? Excellent RP, TBW: best I've seen from you yet. Sorrow was named, because, well, he was struggling with depression for a good part of his 400+ years. More will be developed on that... Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Thanks Endgame and well done on Romulus and Remus, mythological founders of rome, who were raised by Wolves. So not regretting making Leo leave Heroica. Romulus is more like me, sadistic and slightly twisted. Quote
Flipz Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 if Zee had started with less ether. Yeah, that bugged me from the start of the fight, too. Zeph, were you originally planning on having 16 undead minions for that fight? Normally I hate to criticize your battles, but I get a bit of a bad taste in my mouth anytime a Special Damage roll is required to win a fight. (Or, actually, relying on any specific roll--dice tend to be fickle and prevent things like that.) I really didn't like it when it happened in the Quest 38 battle, either. Don't get me wrong, Atters, Nyx, and the rest of the party did an amazing job and may have even had a chance for a minute there, but it just feels like the odds of success were a bit too thin. In my mind, both SHIELDs and Special Damages are both "turnabout" rolls that are real game-changers whenever they show up; like a plot twist in a story, rolling either one should be both exciting and unexpected because it's not a normal thing. Both rolls force the other side to really re-evaluate their strategy; in function, Special Damage is (or at least, should be) the main way to end the potential of auto-rolling, whereas a Hero's SHIELD would be the same thing for the enemies if their mechanics were just like the Heroes'. I'm not sure if my words are making sense here, so if anyone can think of a better way to re-state what I'm trying to say here, feel free. Quote
CMP Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Running her out of ether wasn't much of an option. We would've gotten killed even faster. I'm starting to really dislike Hex, too. I want to heal, damn it, heal. But it'll help push Atramor towards his choice in Expert Class. Quote
Flipz Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Well, also, Hex was doing nothing useful that fight, since there were lots of valid targets...that were already at 0 HP. Quote
Zepher Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 You can criticize all you like! I'll tell you why you're wrong when the quest is over. Just imagine if a different team had gone. Cronk with his angel, for example, or Hoke who could have plowed through those Undead and gotten to Zee easy-peasy, or Alexis and a hastened Summon, or if you had (again) done what was suggested by the NPCs and not split your forces too much. You would have taken practically no damage with those free hits. And no, I did not intend 16. I did take out 2 Apprentices though, because I'm not sadistic. Quote
