Bricksandparts Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Johon continues his warm-ups, then goes and trains in some fighting skills. He sets up some logs in a pasture and strikes them down with quick, deadly hits from his sword. Quote
JimBee Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Hybros yawned at a table in the corner of the bar. He had his feet propped up on the table and was leaning back in his chair, tossing throwing knives into the wall. While he was thankful for a chance to rest after his most recent adventure, he craved more and there wasn't any quest sign-ups happening. He had to do something, he couldn't just sit in this hall while there was opportunities to be taken, questions to be answered. Hybros reflected on Reno and the Ji Pei. He had no way of communicating with them, but wondered if either would post a quest soon. What was worse than this feeling of being caged in is that there was no one around. Eric, Boomingham, and the woman with the Zoot weapon... Tesni, all seemed to be out and about. There also seemed to be a lack of new faces; the few present were wreaking havoc in the library. There seemed to be some excitement coming from downstairs. He had heard that an arena was now open. But he had no desire to fight any one of these heroes, even just for practice. A truly barbaric sport it seemed to be, without many advantages. Perhaps he would amuse himself by watching a match. Quote
The Legonater Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Dyric takes note of a lonely rogue-ish looking fellow at a far table. He seemed worn, but Dyric did not recal ever seeing him before. With nothing better to do, he goes to sit beside Hybros. Hey, my name's Dyric Rone. Quote
JimBee Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 For once glad for some company, Hybros sat up straight and greeted the stranger. He seemed to share some of the shady characteristics of Hybros and other rogues. "Hello, I'm Hybros. I don't recall ever seeing you in here before. Have you been on many quests?" Quote
The Legonater Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 For once glad for some company, Hybros sat up straight and greeted the stranger. He seemed to share some of the shady characteristics of Hybros and other rogues. "Hello, I'm Hybros. I don't recall ever seeing you in here before. Have you been on many quests?" Two. The first was a brief one for the Hinckwells, attempting to reclaim a forest that had been ravaged by criminals. As for the second... we were told that Wren was corrupting a city, and that rebels had sprang forth to combat these forces. Our party was called to assist these rebels, destroying Wren's factories and uniting groups together in a fragile alliance. When all was said and done, we charged our so-called enemy. It was a bloody mess, full of confusion. Hoke and Haldor's elf, Jess, had gone missing, and we had no leads. Meanwhile, the grass beneath us- at least what we could see through the bodies- was stained a sick red. To make things worse- it turned out the commander we had followed into battle had a double on the enemy's side. The two were each convinced they were the real one, and that the other was a corruption of Wren. We had to choose- go with the rebels, or the city. We went with the city. It turns out we were right, but the battles worsened still, and the sights sicken me to this very day. We ultimately won that battle, if you can have victory agaisnt chaos itself. I won't be able to forget that quest. Words can barely describe the awful scene that had been before us, the stench of rotting bodies and blood that covered the battlefield like a cloak. That's why I haven't signed up for another quest, yet. I need... I need time. My whole life I have encountered horrors, and always I've ran straight into another one. This time... no. This time I'll take the time. Quote
Sloop Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 (edited) Helm flips a coin from hand to hand and wonders if any heroes want to lose all of their money gamble a little. He sets up on a table against the wall, placing three cups upside down and places a coin on the table. Then he waits for an unfortunate fool curious character to approach. There will come a time when we will have to stop her once and for all, and I hope that you as well as any other hero willing will be there. Take as much time as you need to recover, though, I know very well that any encounter with the witch can drain you." Quote

If so, then I challenge you, name your bet and then make your move. You may play as white. Quote
