"That I did, slew a dragon and a rebel leader. Good times." Tesni waved farewell to Namyrra as the necromancer left for her newest quest. it was vexing that this meeting had been so short.

Hoke strikes a pensive pose and scratches his chin.

"Not bad, not bad. We took out a Kraken and a Titan, among other things," he says with a wink.

"Sister? No, no, you must be mistaken. I was speaking to the dwarf there." I point out Stigveladi. "As far as the Robe is concerned, I bought it for 300 coin and have not even had a chance to use it as you hoarded it the whole quest. To sell it for a price under that would be unthinkable. However, as a Cleric to a Cleric and Party Leader to Senior Adviser, I will let it go for 270."

Bet you didn't see that coming.

The Druid breathed in deeply, irritated by the Monk. "I'm afraid that my coffers weren't quite filled by our recent quest, Party Leader. I intend to make other purchases, so let me be clear: I cannot afford to purchase the robe at that price. I will not purchase it unless you lower the price to 230 gold. I allowed you your reign over coin distribution, just as I allowed you the chance to give orders and make your own mistakes once I saw that you were capable, but that doesn't change the fact that most of the other party members got more out of the quest than myself. I am not one to complain over such a petty non-issue, however, in money-based transactions, I have no qualms bringing such items to bare. 230 gold... for a... friend." The last word fell from his mouth with surprising genuineness. The voice sounded tired, old-even. Older even than Monk Pretzel's.

"Exciting. I wonder if I will get to face something as big in battle."

"Interesting thing is that, because of the abilities of the party, there didn't seem to be much of a challenge. You should have seen the treasures in the Fields, but I am guessing there was plenty of loot after all the bandits were vanquished. Have anything of interest aside from the wonderful blade you now carry?"

"Aye, an axe and a dress I have already traded off and then this." Tesni dropped the Samurai Helmet (WP:4, suitable to knights, dragoons, regulators, winged warriors) to the table. "Not much use to me."

"Interesting....." Hoke said as he inspected the helmet, "What would an item such as this be worth to you?"

"Ack! You can't complain. There was little suitable for you and I gave you what I could. The demon stole all the best loot. It was also not really your place to question me over my distribution of the loot..."

I stare long and hard at the druid.

Friend? What an unusual character. I don't even know his face and yet he calls me a friend.

I sigh. Why did my conscience always burn a hole in my heart whenever I overcharge someone.

"Look, I can't operate on my expenses surpassing my sales, but I will do what I can. You have served well and are deserving of this cloak. How would..." my mind travels quickly, trying to recall how much I originally bought the robe for, "...250 gold sound?"

The Druid paused. "...I can go no higher than 230 and still purchase all that I need to... But I suppose I could go without an additional tonic... like the one I gave you... if I conserve my ether reserves, and wear this robe consistently. I will pay you 240 gold for the robe, but that is it. If you cannot sell it to me for that much, then I will find a better item/deal on my next quest to be sure. Money is a sickening thing, and I assure you I am not attempting to rob you of your hard earned coin. I do not horde these so-called "rewards," and I possess no anterior motives for attempting to lower that robe's price. I am a rich Druid, but my wealth is not determined by possession of valuables." The Druid sighed, his voice soft and tired.

"I have to say, I dislike shopping immensely, which is one reason why I did not want to sell it, because it will force me to go to the marketplace and look for something else to replace it with. Furthermore, I would really have liked to try this robe out in a quest, as it's a comfortable fit and has a certain vitality to it, but you clearly have more need of it than I. I dislike speaking on money issues as well. It tiresome at best and, in some circles, has the tendency to turn friends into enemies, but it is unfortunately necessary sometimes. May this robe serve you well, druid. 240 gold it is."

I hand Sylph the Robe of the Archmagi in exchange for 240 gold.

A bald barbarian looking fellow with a crafty eye enters the hall. I tend to recall him being an unpleasant chap.

Fresh from a quest, possibly with a coin or two to spend, I muse.

I remove Conspirator from its sheath and prepare to sharpen its surface with the grating stone.

Where did that grating stone get to?

I dig through my cart, before pulling it out proudly.

"Deal." Stated the Druid, pleased. He handed the monk his 240 coins and gently, slowly took the Robe, draping it across his back.

"A good deal." Tesni grinned and handed over the helmet. "Keep's your bonce safe anyway."

"Here, take this instead."

Hoke gives Tesni 30 gold and accepts the Samurai Helmet.

"Hope to put it to good use soon. Mayhaps you have heard of a quest with the Shadeaux family? I seek their patronage."

"Fine. 250 gold. For the stone. Not that sword, I got tired of seeing that damn thing already."

I am somewhat startled as the big, bald raider is suddenly at my table demanding gold from me, but then...

He wants to buy this stone for 250 gold? What kind of...?

My first thoughts are to smack the man across the face with my steak for his insolence. What was he talking about the sword for anyone, but suddenly I realize what he's offering me...

"250 for the stone? Done!" I exclaim, handing the stone to him quickly lest he remove his offer whilst the stone was still in my possession.
