Waterbrick Down Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Well met Boris. May your god's ever favor you with their light upon your Path. A commotion? it is at that. Some who seem to be lovers of diversity, while others deem only themselves and their own ilk to be relevant. A common theme among men and beast is it not? How have you fared recently? Anything of note since we last spoke? "Aye, it's the same with most new comers. Can't seem to fathom a city such as this with folks from all sorts living peaceably together." The vampire pauses to secure a goblet of wine. "Nay, I can't say much has changed. I took a brief leave of absence for contemplation and fasting, but my time yielded little unraveling of my current path. The skies have not spoke to me in many months now and I wonder if they ever will again." The vampire swirls the wine in his cup contemplatively. "And you? Last I saw you were heading out on another quest, about that time we had the giant storm that blew through." Vindsvla notices Keliim's solute. Know you the Northerner? "Keliim and I have been on a few journeys together, though I must say the hound is new." Quote
Khorne Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 "Thank you! It's always important to keep equipment shiny, otherwise the people I'm trying to help might think I'm a bad guy. They never keep their equipment nice and shiny, you know? Are you a hero too?" Once the ale had been brought, Eric shoved a pint towards Petaldan and raised his glass. "Bottom's up, young one", the Nord said and drank his beer. Wiping his mouth and beard with the back of his hand, he chuckled at the young Knight's remark. "Bad guys can have shiny weapons as well, at least if they are smart enough to upkeep their equipment. The world isn't as black and white as you might think, unge" "Anyway, am I a hero? Yes, I have dabbled in the activities of a hero. I've slain many great beasts, such as a Basilisk and the Queen of Sirens. On many occasions, I also got the girl at the end. So ja I am a hero. My name is Eric, from the North. I am a Vindicator of Njordon, King of the Seas. What is your name?" Quote

Have faith, the gods deem time differently them we. Perhaps you will yet catch their eye. As far as the storm, I had the honor to be involved in its ceasing. A strange tail that. It seems to me now that it took place as much in the heads of those involved as in their hands. A very strange journey it was. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 "You mean, mind control? Scary stuff that, being forced out of ones own being. Was there really a dragon behind all of that like the rumors said?" Quote
Asphalt Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 No, Not mind control. I did not feel as if anything was being forced into my mind, more I was being drawn into the mind of another. Specifically, the memories of Ikarus, The Father of Dragons, Imortallis. It was he that caused the storms. Quote

JimBee Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 With Lind and the pale elf being unresponsive and the conflict dissipated, Jinnipher sighed disappointingly and turned away. The Nord then caught eye of Jinnipher the Moon Elf. He couldn't quite remember if he had seen her before or not. She looked alright. More pleasing to the eye than most here. Eric stroked his beard and winked at her, then motioning a kiss her way. Chuckling he continued his way to the bar. The gesture was not beyond her gaze. She scowled and strode up to the bar where the nord was joined by the small child she had met some time ago. "You, nord. I am not some doll or common whore to please your eyes. I'll show you a thing or two about what happens to people who piss me off. Just ask the dragons who tried to sink what's left of Mercution into the ocean," she bragged, resting her fingertips on the hilt of Beheader. Quote
Yzalirk Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 "Lhkasthiv are smart, but not wise. Many things in Kalma do not like when things look at them. They eat a lot of lost Lhkasthiv. If mek-an-ik-ul men come from the stars...Lhkasthiv like to look at the stars a lot, maybe mek-an-ik-ul men also do not like when things look at them?" It was the closest she could come to an explanation for the beings' behavior, but it seemed to match the behavior of the creatures of Kalma. She twirls her new dagger proudly, approving of the speed with which her new tribe was bringing her newer, stronger foes. Now all that remains, to her eyes, is the actual battle, though she knows better than to rush off in seeking it without the elders' leadership. "Maybe, I dunno. I think it's something far more... sinister." At Sorrow's quiet table, the murmurs of desert automata finally reach Arthur's ears. The Skirmisher frowns. "Here," he says, sliding his Ethereal Topaz over to Sorrow. "Thormanil dropped me a Z-Mail a while back, says he'd like to trade me a Grating Stone for it--and if he tries to give you extra Gold, tell him no, he gets the friend price, I insist. Anyway, add the stone to Guts' pile, and this too while you're at it." Arthur counts out a pouch containing 250 gold, hoping the Marauder would arrive before his next departure but not trusting his luck. "I'll be back soon, but just in case. I need to go talk to a man about an automaton." Arthur stands and approaches the knot of new and relatively new Heroes that had formed around Zannaqim, specifically directing his attention to Addok-zo. He sketches something on a parchment, relying mostly on memory of the day and the night he had fought the specific foes that had come to mind, then shows the drawing to the Ranger: "Excuse me, I couldn't help but overhear...you fought automata? In the desert? They wouldn't happen to have looked like this, would they?" The Skirmisher seems rather worried by the thought. Addok-Zo examines the drawing. "There were some that looked similar to that. I mostly remember the ones that looked like people but with alloy skin but they weren't as hostile compared to the thinner and bulkier mechanical-men. The slimmer ones were fast and agile, shot balls of fire at us. The larger ones were slow and tougher, easily crushed other warriors." "I'm interested to join a party to the fields of glory. I have learned a couple of new tricks since last time." The sorcerer smiled as pale red vines slowly grew up round the legs of the table. Small pale flowers was budding and petals with small venomous green skulls was unfurling. Quote

KotZ Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Kiray enters the Hall after a long Fields trip. She had some new weapons, and a new class. Seeing the Hall relatively pack surprises her. Most seemed to be faces she had seen before, although the new ones were interesting. She grabs a stiff drink and walks over to the quest board, seeing a new notice for a Fields run. She eventually finds Keliim and hunkers down. "I just came from the Fields. I'm willing to go back if you want to make a run." Quote

OoC: Sorry for the late response, was with family yesterday and I am sore from the tattoo I got a few days ago. "...damn it. Damn it, damn it, damn it..." --------------- Zannaqim appears alarmed by Arthur's cursing. *It must be a serious matter to provoke such worry from a tribe elder.* --------------- "...sorry, it's just...these are chimera guards. Creations of the late Lord Blackenord, a rebel in the Dastanian rebellion several years back. I knew several of them were smuggled into Eubric by Grogmas of that year, but I'd hoped the other Heroes and I had destroyed the last of them that night. Apparently, they've managed to spread further than we thought." Arthur frowns. "The other ones sound like Ji Pei tech...likely stolen, neither Jun nor the Tritech scientists like to let their combat-capable models out of their own hands. Alternatively, they might have been stolen from Xu...Monsignore Legonardo is a brilliant inventor, but he's only one person, and I'm sure Xu is still picking up the pieces after the revolution..." Arthur is interrupted suddenly, as he feels a weight drop into his bag. He looks inside, and flushes deeply. ...I don't think it's nepotism, but...it's probably nepotism. Seems more likely than my luck actually turning around. He considers for a moment, then smiles at the inexperienced Selkreeth who happens to be standing beside him. "It's your lucky day, Zanna. You could probably use some better gear than that cowl I gave you...and it just so happens I have a new piece to spare." Arthur lends Zanna the Anniversary Medal. "Feel free to hang onto this for a while--I'll want it back some day, but barring a trip to the Fields of Glory I think I'll be sticking to the Hall for a while. You'll make better use for it than I can." --------------- Zannaqim is once again surprised by Heroican generosity. As she silently accepts the medal, she notices a first-aid kit that has mysteriously appeared at her belt--likely her own prize from the Lottery she had entered. "I...thank you. The tribe of Heroica is very..." Zanna struggles with her words, ultimately gesturing helplessly when none come. "I feel I must honor this...[[sharing-of-spoils]]," she finally concludes, lapsing into her own language in frustration. Arthur waves it off. "Don't worry about it. Just use it well." Zannaqim nods, but it is clear she is formulating some sort of return gesture in the back of her mind. "I will." She turns to the Barbarian who had approached her, one whose name she had not yet heard. "Forgive me, mshnav, I do not know your...name, is the Common word? I hear you call for members of the tribe to aid you in battle, yes? I am here."
