Dorek Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I have to say though, as nice as the new Thornax launcher pieces are, it means that we only get one of the recoloured standard versions per set. There's a lot of asymmetry in the Heroes, but with the amount of nice pieces it might be worth getting doubles of each set. True, but there's doubles in three of the villain sets, even those colors aren't as exciting. Hopefully they show up in PAB, which they theoretically should; the one I'm most interested in is Rocka's, obviously =P And March here in Italy. Luckily there's Ebay/S@H.. I should probably be able to buy a few of them for Christmas, if that German Ebay seller shows up like last year. eBay tends to be awesome for things like that. There's usually something to be found, even if you have to pay a wee bit extra. Quote

I might wait until the sets are reduced later on in the year, or a special offer at a store, so I can buy two of the same set for roughly the price of one. Quote

He sold the Heroes at 8 Euro, the Villains at 11 Euro and Fire Lord (should've bought him at that time!) at 16,90 Euro. Awesome prices! That's why I'm looking forward to buy some 2012 sets from him in particular. Quote
Front Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 There are no re-colours of the 2009 Thornax launcher. Quote
Antrozek Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 There are no re-colours of the 2009 Thornax launcher. the gunmetal piece that looks like a part of the tornax launcher is a new piece right? it looks a little bit different from the 2009 thornax launcher, like adapted to the 2006 zamor spheres rather than the thornax middle black part Quote
ZORK64 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Hmmm... I wonder when the new sets will show up here in Germany... Quote
Omicron Squad Leader Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Hmmm... I wonder when the new sets will show up here in Germany... I don't think you'll get them first this year. Probably late December, with most of Europe. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 There are no re-colours of the 2009 Thornax launcher. Could this mean that the piece we see on the Heroes is a new piece entirely? I think that one of the launchers is a recolor,(Breez's red one), but I'm not sure if the Thornax launcher has been in that color before. Quote

We already knew that, in the cgi you can take sometime to see the scale and note that the thornax launcher-like piece is actually shorter than usual and has different insertion points. Front also commented on that a some time ago. Edited November 22, 2011 by vexorian Quote

Rocketbilly Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I don't know if I'll like the new piece, since it won't fit in with the older sets. I know what you mean, I'm like that at times too. I'm just looking at this new piece as a sort of pistol or carbine version of the older piece. I think I prefer this one, anyway; I always considered the original piece to look a little too long - though that may have something to do with the sets the part debuted in having quite long arms to begin with. Quote
Dorek Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Eh, I think people will be receptive to it; there was far less of an uproar about the new joints in 2008 than I expected, so this shouldn't be too different. Quote
King of Nynrah Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Looks like I won't be buying any after all then. I'll just wait until some of the new-colour Glatorian heads appear on Bricklink... unless those aren't what they seem too. Quote
Mesonak Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I sincerely hope I'm misunderstanding your post, because it sure sounds like you just swore off from buying any Hero Factory 1H 2012 sets because of a one pin hole altered Thornax Launcher that looks almost exactly the same as the Thornax Launcher and functions identically. Please tell me I'm wrong? Quote
vexorian Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) That's great, more sets for me. Edited November 23, 2011 by vexorian Quote
Front Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 A launcher can be made with an old and a new piece. Asymmetrical that is. That should also be possible with the new special top part launcher and an old 2009 launcher piece. Although that combination wont be able to fire a spike ball, similar to the configuration of the 2012 standard sets. Quote

If so, meh. Would've liked a shorter version. Quote
vexorian Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I am pretty sure that the new ones are shorter (due to reviewing the scale in the CGI shots) and that that's what front means by asymmetrical. Quote

I would think they'd need to be the same length to work properly, and the asymmetry was that one of them would have an extra pin hole. But I hope you're right. Quote

Kalhiki Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Let's see so there's the '09 Launcher, Short Launcher, and the top half of the gun that the Heroes have. (I'll call that Big Gun) That means the pairs are: '09 Launcher & '09 Launcher '09 Launcher & Short Launcher '09 Launcher & Big Gun Short Launcher & Big Gun Short Launcher & Short Launcher Judging by the pictures, it seems as though two Big Gun pieces can't form a launcer on their own. Also, it seems that the pairs with the Big Gun would not be able to fire a Spike Ball mainly due to how that gun half is designed. Kalhiki Quote

Kalhiki That's what I was wondering,I think they could connect (it is lego) but old the Zamor ball fit? when someone get the sets please try out these variations. Speaking of the set I'm surprise its so close to December and we haven't seen a model pic of one hero. Guess Dec, is the month to see it all Quote
Shakar Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Last year we got pics of out-box sets in early December, I guess this year it will be the same- we got finalized pics already, not to mention those pics of Jawblade and Reapa (ironically the sets I'm less interested about, oh well). Hopefully they will hit stores in a few weeks. Speaking of which, does anyone know when Winter 2011 sets begun popping up on Ebay? Quote
dviddy Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 The winter sets were available on Toys R Us' website the second week of December last year. They didn't hit stores proper until the very end of December, I think post-Christmas even. Reviewers for the main sites probably have them already (I don't know, I missed out on the message because I was at work). Quote
