SilentMode Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Army building: nerd (with the C:\ prompt mug!), rabbit/bunny suit, red riding hood. Wouldn't say no: female guitarist, bride, valkyrie(?), space warrior-type-thing, hippie, jungle guy, swimming athlete, male tennis player. Take or leave: bagpipe player, black knight. Just one for the collection: aztec warrior, merman (apart from the torso), stuntman. This series is looking so badass it steals the crown from S4 - and it isn't even out yet. Quote
______ Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I can't believe how good both series 6 and 7 are! I can't believe that LEGO has made a Space Marine! But what I am really excited for is Poseidon! Quote
Rogue Angel Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Although there are some cool things in series 7, I am kind of disappointed, because there is no "really exciting" figure like the previous sets have had: Series 1: Zombie Series 2: Spartan Series 3: Elf (Woot!) Series 4: Musketeer/Hazmat guy Series 5: Gladiator/Dwarf (even though I know we've had other dwarves, I'm big on the fantasy theme) Series 6: Legionnaire/Minotaur/Highlander Series 7: ...... As I said, there are some kind of cool things, but not like the previous series have had in my opinion - no multi-buy figs. Quote
Aanchir Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Looks like LEGO's getting funky with this one. -Typical office nerd with sweatervest, mug with (:/ printed on it, and CW Obi's hair in black -70s punk rocker girl with a giant new pink hairdo, white/pink guitar, teal dress -Wedding bride, silver tiara hair accessory, new hair with veil -AZTEC WARRIOR with golden eagle helm, golden spear, printed golden shield -Stunt daredevil with red/white/blue printing on white suit, new hair, printed motorcycle helmet -Scottish bagpiper, new hat, cloth dress, new bagpipe -Female viking with hair under helmet, silver Gladius? -Space marine, VERY bulky dark blue armor, targetting eyepiece, ADU gun -Uh...shipwreck survivor? Bone necklace, rag pants, monkey, new knife? -70s hippie, hair similar to Jack Sparrow's, tie dye shirt, puple pants -Guy in a bunny suit with carrot -Black knight with red eyes, ovoid shield, highlander longsword? -Female swimmer, black swimsuit, swimming cap, medal (not printed, accessory) -Little red riding hood, new basket mold, red hood, mini red cape -Male tennis player, new tan spiky hair, dark blue racket -Poseidon, new golden crown, Sensei Wu's beard, mermaid tail One of the best so far. I think the "office nerd" is a computer programmer, hence his "C:\" mug. The "shipwreck survivor" is also probably our Jungle Boy we were promised in the S5 blurb at shop.LEGO.com. Hard to say which fig is my favorite, but useful parts abound. For example, the Swimmer's medal, the new flower stem piece used by the hippie and bride figs, and Red Riding Hood's basket (which also appears in the Friends theme in some more unusual color I can't remember off the top of my head). Cutty Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) Can't wait to see the Donnie Darko MOCs that are going to pop up. In my crystal ball I foresee many a customiser to modify those bunny cowls into these ;-)). Edited October 15, 2011 by Cutty Quote
Haltiamieli Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 - Was a new flower piece really necessary? Maybe it hasn't been in the direst need, but it will certainly has it's uses. Other than fitting better into minifigs hands it will also make more compact and better looking vases of cut flowers (or potted plants) when combined with a 1x1 round brick, for example. Quote
Angeli Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 finally :) for all of us Baldur's Gate lovers - red hood, for Edwin :) Quote
TheLegoDr Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) Can't wait to see the Donnie Darko MOCs that are going to pop up. Or if you wanted a more classic feel, do a Harvey MOC. But that isn't as well known or as dark as Donnie Darko. Wait a minute..now we have the rabbit suit and we have a Jake Gyllenhaal look alike Dastan piece. Weird. They were planning something. I want at least 10 of this series, which is more than I've wanted out of any of the series. I was super excited for series 5 when it came out, got those in a hurry, then saw pictures of series 6, super pumped! But now that these are out already I've already forgotten about series 6. In my eyes, they released the picture too soon. But I can see the business side of it and wanting to get more people interested earlier. The problem is we will be waiting until May? someone said, which is still 7 months away. Edited October 15, 2011 by TheLegoDr Quote
Sid Sidious Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I think the Aztec warrior might steal the crown of coolest minifig from the current holder. I was just thinking about an Aztec warrior a few days ago, so this is really cool. Poseidon, bagpiper, and the guy with the sword look cool. The hippie is my dad from the '70s. ;) Quote
UsernameMDM Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I would like the hippy more if he had an acoustic guitar instead of flowers. Quote
Thego Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Really exciting figures. It seems that TLG are trying to make male/female pairs for a lot of themes in the Collectable Minifigures series. Quote
GiantDinosaur Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I believe this to be fake. As you can see, it lacks a skateboarder or a person doing snow sports. Quote
Thego Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Or if you wanted a more classic feel, do a Harvey MOC. But that isn't as well known or as dark as Donnie Darko. I was thinking more of that scene at the end of the book, 'Of Mice and Men', where Lennie sees a giant rabbit pop up and tell him off! Quote
Cutty Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I believe this to be fake. As you can see, it lacks a skateboarder or a person doing snow sports. Whoa dude! Readings went through the roof on my irony-meter upon that post! Go use some appropriate smilies next time! Seriously, you can't mean that as you wrote, or do you? Quote
mo123567 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I would like the hippy more if he had an acoustic guitar instead of flowers. I like the hippy a lot but you are right about an acoustic guitar. The only guitar from Lego that we have is not very versitile considering the dated flying V design which only fits limited uses well. I want a more standard shaped guitar. It doesn't matter too much though, thanks to Brickforge. I believe this to be fake. As you can see, it lacks a skateboarder or a person doing snow sports. Oops, you're right. Maybe someone messed up or maybe these are... MEGABLOCKS... Reading through the posts in this thread thus far it seems like this series has very broad appeal. Some many different oppinions on what the best one is means that there aren't many duds in this series. For me, all 16 are really good this time. Nothing stands out as being boring. Quote
Sid Sidious Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) Since the daggers come on a sprue with two daggers, does this mean the castaway will have two daggers? Or will they abandon the sprue? Same thing with the flower petals. Edited October 15, 2011 by Sid Sidious Quote
Peanuts Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Since the daggers come on a sprue with two daggers, does this mean the castaway will have two daggers? Or will they abandon the sprue? Same thing with the flower petals. They abandoned the sprue of the plumes already at the Series 1 Forestman, so I'm rather sure we won't get two knifes, as there appear to be no more extras in CMFs. Not sure about the flowers, though. Quote
Suspsy Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Would people please stop referring to Tarzan as "the castaway"? Quote
Niku Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) I think it's the highlander sword from Series 6, though the dark knight's sword is probably of a darker colour. Yeah I also think is the highlander sword, but Im not sure about the shield if it is the normal shield as we know it or if it is a new mold. I would have liked that instead of the helmet given to him, a visor helmet or one like frogstudio helmet on his avatar. Nonetheless I`ll try to get some of those. Walter Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Crazy wow! ALOT of people are going to go nuts over those marines. Quote

vexorian Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) All right, so beyond the first reaction. Best figure in all seven series * The space marine. Finally! I hope that in a later series we get a variation with a different color so that we can have space wars. Love them * Bag pipes, kilt, non-teeth-plagued neutral face. This minifigure is win. * New flower, nice t-shirt, nice hair. Non-teeth-plagued mustached face! The hippie is going to be great in my collection. * Mayincatek warrior looks great. Remember when I said this figure was definitely going to come in a later series? Of course you don't, but I do. * Valkyrie: Of course I needed a Valkyrie, I just didn't know till now. * Will be nice to find once in a random bag, but don't look forward to get * The bunnie, Poseidon, the little red hood, the black knight and Tarzan are all great concepts implemented well. But I am not really planning to try to get them. * The new rocker is ok for the new guitar and the hair may look good on exo-force MoCs, but otherwise, the punk is better. Absolute hatred * I have a big problem with the geek. I would love the minifig if the clever computer mug wasn't MS-encumbered, but it is. Hope TLG doesn't make any more "windows-only" figure later. Anti-climatic * The other figs look underwhelming to me. The bride is ok but has teeth-plague ( boo), now if it had two faces including an angry expression , that would be lovely. The tennis player and the swimmer are the best proof I could find that TLG need to stop including sport figures in these series. The other guy, I really don't know what he is supposed to be. So I will call it generic civilian. He is uninteresting, but there is something cool about him. And it is that his head could really work for Ron Swanson MoCs.
