I will probably have the first part of my Challenge VI up soon (hopefully today) plus a free build. Also sorry for disappearing rather abruptly, we moved which meant no internet for two weeks (oh the horror! ), but I've still manged to build quite a bit! Will get SSchmidt added the the character list ASAP.

Hello Kaliphliners! Sorry I've been away from EB and GoH for about a month. Real life has intruded, and we had a short vacation too. I definitely miss you all and the forum, although I'm not thrilled about the vast amount of posts to catch up on! I have a lot of reading to do... I probably will not enter the challenge  ; not enough time at this point. If I get a chance, I will try to whip together a few small builds, but it's not looking good at this point. I have the story outlined and the builds planned, but nothing more than that.

The only good LEGO news coming out of our household recently is that we hit Legoland California over the vacation. My son of course had a fabulous time. The park seems a bit better maintained than it was a year and a half ago when we were last there. We also managed to pick up some Series 10 minifigs there -- a Roman Commander, some Warrior Women, some Tomahawk Warriors, a Sea Captain, a Revolutionary Soldier, a Trendsetter, a Baseball Player, and a Bumblebee Girl. Can't wait to use some of them in upcoming builds.

Welcome to Kaliphlin, SSchmidt!

Great to have you back, and I am glad you got to vacation! I don't think there will be a challenge VI from me either, as I still have all of Queenscross to settle, and it takes up 80% of my collection and all of my building space.

I am looking forward to those CM 10s, but I am also sad that I did not get enough of the 9s.... I feel Lego may have scaled back their runs to similar size as the 1st - 3rd runs... I only saw 9 in stores for a few weeks.

I've been seeing 9 like crazy. 8 was the hard one for me. My Lego store ran out of 8 well before 7, and I never got enough conquistadors:(

I am pretty pumped about s10 though. Best...series...ever.

Somewhat ironically my store still has S8 (at least as of the last time I went a few weeks ago); and quite a few at that!

I totally missed series 7 and 8, and honestly didn't buy so much CMFs in store before that either... So I'm pretty much stuck with buying overpriced CMF:s over BL, just paid around $10 each for a bunch of romans. Not a good deal at all, but I figured that it was now or never :(

Having no lego store even in the country and no good supply in any other toy store either (the toy store in the town 1 hour away always has wrinkled bags from some other local AFOLs getting there before me )

Enough whining, now at least I found a few boxes of unsqueezed series 9 a while back while on a ferry over the Baltic sea, which got me a bunch of forest maidens, cyclops and some other assorted figs :classic:

Series 10 has me totally worked up, not too excited by the distribution so far I've seen though...

They had plenty of S9s in the store at Legoland. I thought about trying to find some more Forest Maidens, but didn't have the time.

You can never have enough conquistadors! Those are some really nice minifigs!

Not sure if they're the best ever, but I'm very happy with all the ones we got; they're very nicely done. Definitely looking forward to getting more Revolutionary Soldiers, Warrior Women, Tomahawk Warriors, and Romans. I forgot to mention that we got two Medusas. Want to also get a Librarian, a Grandpa, and a Decorator.

Cannot have enough of those Forest Maidens and Cyclops!

Heck, I made count during my posts to the BoQ!!! Yay!!!!

Also wondering what this "winter" is that you speak of, is that the time of year it gets down to 80 degrees Fahrenheit? (27 degrees Celsius)?

I don't think it gets very cold in Kaliphlin.

Oh Ecc, what torment are you conceiving?

:classic:

Fahrenheit? Really? Really?!

Aren't you guys feeling the cold breeze yet?

In 'merica we don't believe in logical scientific measurement systems.

oh boy, how I was annoyed by that when I lived in the US ...

I wish I had time to give Mitgardia some serious competition and cover Historica with the southern sands. Unfortunately I don't so its just Challenge VI for now, but Barqa will eventually have a fortress that every guild will be talking about... as well as a few ships. :smug: My conceptual design library is filling up nicely, so it shouldn't be too long.

Visiting Herbologists and RL issues force me to miss the deadline for Ch VI, but I will try to have a story and some small builds up this coming week.

I have decided my characters actually don't know what Victor Revolword looks like, so they will be destroying a body that may or may not be him. As far as I can tell, no one has killed Victor's brother in their Ch VI stories. He will be included in my story. Also, one of the dwarves from Petraea will be driven mad by an ancient weapon he hopes to use to destroy Victor's helmet.

I'm considering calling it Anticlimax: What By Goddess Were We Thinking?

I've been intending for a long while to post a MOC or two explaining Masa's origin. I'm not sure now when I would be able to get around to it as I have a ton of other builds in the works. So I decided to just post a brief explanation to bring everyone up to date on Masa and his relation to Mikel.

"In his exploration of the many tunnels below Historica, he came across a fire elemental. As the two fought, the ground below them gave way and they both fell into an ancient sacred pool fusing the elemental into Mikel's body. He immediately traveled to a remote fishing village in Kaliphlin and sent Fleh, one the four slaves that DaMaximus had given him, to consult with Yesil the Grelf concerning his condition.

Yesil returned with Fleh and after many months taught Mikel how to control the elemental that had been fused into him. Once he was satisfied that Mikel's training was complete, Yesil returned to his business travels. Mikel who now had taken the name of Masa however remained in the remote village until Yesil summoned him to the Black Pyramid where an army had gathered to wage war against Victor Revolword."

Haha nice story Masa, but Fleh was a slave (but also an excellent soldier) if I remember right

So he is not really an Alleenridder (who is most times a knight of noble origin) :classic:

However, by serving you a lot, showing excellent fighting skills and doing some great deeds (making him a hero for some people), you can give him the title of Alleenridder (as you are one) :classic:

Ah yes I confused the IAMS members with the Alleeridders and now that I looked back there were actually 4 that you gave me.

IF we make something similar to Mitgardia's blizzard... lets agree NOT to call it a sandstorm. hahahaha. But really, I know we have Kai and Gideon the building machines, but can we match this onslaught by the end of June?

As a joke I was going to post a guide to all the best taverns of Queenscross... since I made 6 of them for the battle...
