And Wife of Darth, You keep making the WRONG assumption, you keep saying that only a scum would want to know other's people's role, why would a towny not want to know if he or she can trust others? Basically what you are going for trying to make me suspicious is me wanting to find out your role, but me being scum could not be the reason for that, think about it. Also I would like to point attention that all out accusations like this are probably more in favor of scum, if those accusations have no real base.

How is mine the wrong assuption? Besides, I wasn't accusing you because of your interest in my role. That's perfectly acceptable, because you could be the Investigator wanting to know if I could be trusted, or if you had to investigate me. I'm accusing you because of your insisting that you are a normal Townie. That just rings off bells in my head. You're my biggest suspicion, but I can be proved wrong.

And isn't it funny how your name reminds me of an evil tyrant in folklore called Darth Vader?

Who? Dark Rater? Is he someone who gives plays bad reviews?

You shouldn't be referring to Star Wars in this topic. Remember, we're roleplaying here. The idea is that we are in the time of knights and crusaders, not our own time.

All of you, just let me live 1 more night, and whoever the Investigator is, Investigate me. Then I'll be proven in the face of God and the Town. (I'll also probably be dead tomorrow Night, by the hand of the Scum, but I'm willing to take one for the town.)

How is stating that you are a normal towny suspicious? It would be the least dangerous role to reveal, as scum would probably go for an investigator or whatever.

Also I would like to point the attention to the fact that if the Wife of Darth is investigated and turned out town, there is a possibility she is the scum godfather(mother?).

I confess that I have no piece. Given that, I think it's possible that not all the pieces have been found to this point.

You are correct on the second possibility. Being investigated as town early would certainly be of aid to her if she is indeed the godmother.

As for your other comments, it is clear that you are not denying the accusation Darth has made against you, namely that you inquired of her role and presented yours willingly as "vanilla townie". While I'm not accusing you yet, that is certainly the most logical thing for a scum to claim. Right now, the two of you are probably the top of my list given the strange behavior of today. The fact remains, we have very little other information to go on aside from the puzzle pieces, and I don't think we'll solve that riddle so quickly.

Very good point. She may be the Scum Boss, and if the investigator looks into her case, she would be "innocent" because she is the Boss. Therefore, I think she may be one of the Scum, with Sir Carrot being another one. Just a possibility.

I had been planning to keep this to myself a while longer, but as it seems to be the done thing right now here it is:

I hope everyone else will reveal theirs as well. Scubacarrot's piece looks something like "end," so hopefully when pieced together it will give us some clue as to how to end this.

My feeling is that either WifeofDarth is telling the truth OR SirCarrot is.

One or the other.

It would seem like such a complicated plan to no only have the Godmother go out hard, but to also immediately throw blame on a fellow witchbreed.

Of course the good thing about early finger pointing is that it generates leads for the town to follow...

What do you think of the conversation so far Master Hale?

Who sounds the fishiest?

Hmm, good point. Though remember the the Scum don't know who each other are...I think it may just be our luck that they have found each other, and now it is our job to remove them from the premises, or at least let the Boy King do it himself...

Ehm, sorry to disappoint you, but it's kind of in the nature of the scum to know who each other are. Therefore I highly doubt that both the Wife of Darth and Sir Carrots are scum. It would be an insane plan from their part to put themselves both out there like that on day 1. So I doubt that's the case. They could both be townies though, Wife of Darth could be a townie who's overly eager to try to catch the scum, while Sir Carrots could be a confused townie who was a little to trusting a little too early.

But it's our only leads so far, so we should try to pursue them.

Sir Carrots: why did you try to ask for the Wife of Darth's role? She is right that it's very scummy to inquire about roles early on.

Wife of Darth: why did you jump on accusing Sir Carrots? If you really want people to contact you so you can coordinate the town (as you claimed to begin with), you need to give us a reason to trust you, not just out the first person to contact you, unless you have taken the time to gauge their behaviour properly.

Ok here is the deal, at the moment before I contacted Wife of Darth, she seemed innocent to me, so I contacted her, if she really wanted TOWN to contact her (which I am not sure about). I did because I wanted to get some insight in who I can trust and who not. I assumed she has some kind of role that she needs help with from other townies with roles OR she is scum. This is strengthened by her insistence of being investigated by the investigator. I ask, why? It is suspicious to say the least that you want to be investigated so badly. Think about it. A townie would not mind being investigated, sure, for he or she will be found innocent, heck, investigate me if you want, I do not care. But it is not helpful to investigate a person that you know is town, wasting one uncovering of a potential scum. Unless of course Wife of Darth has some kind of role and she needs help of the investigator. The other possibility is that she is the scum godfather and wants to put a false sense of trust in the town.

As for the puzzle pieces, I think it is not unlikely to think that someone may have been given the objective to make a complete puzzle, in hindsight revealing my puzzle piece may not have been too smart.

Sternly facing them, he coldly says, "Okay, you may vote."

Voting is now open, you have 48 hours to place a vote. You may unvote as you please, but if everybody (16 of 17) reaches a unanimous consensus, the thread may close early. Ideally, there won't be a consensus. Have at it!

Cecily Seas words are as wise as a fox on an autumn day.

Since we must vote now, I believe we should point our attention even on the characters that have added nothing to the research.

Mister Hale, Flannagan the whipping boy...they are not the first name on my Scum list, but still they haven't helped.

I believe that Evil forces will try to blend in, adding nothing.

I'm gonna really think about this point, and be ready to vote in a while, hoping that the witch wouldn't do anything to my commerce!

Noob Question: Where do we vote?

"Alas that you suspsect me, I am just a meek whipping boy, abused all my life... why I would want to hurt anyone besides the man with the whip is beyond me!" :cry_sad:

I didn't. I am simply stating that he has been acting very Scummy, and that he was the first person my trap caught. That doesn't mean anything at all. I am simply saying that he is one possible lead. Since I have noticed a lot of people think I'm the Godmother, I have the answer for you, spoken in simple terms so everyone can understand:

The Godmother, as you say, would turn up Town on an investigation. So they would try to draw attention to themselves, establishing them as a helpful member of the Town. But, when no one else speaks up, they would quiet down, not wanting to draw attention to themselves any more than they have to. But I have continued speaking, and I won't quiet down any time soon. By the way, I have laid another, simple and effective trap/brainteaser for the Scum. Want to hear what it is?

Also, why are us women the only sensible ones here? :hmpf:

It's in the rules (And you should have read through another mafia game as an example  ). Simply write in thread, in bold (so I can see it at a glance), vote: character (user name), ie:

vote: The Boy King (def)

Good sir, how do you know those scummy Witchbreed don;t know each other .... are you privy to some information we don't know .... Do YOU know who is scummy? Highly suspicious that you would make such a statement ...

"Hmm... Anyone else have these little slips of paper? I'm attempting to assemble the ones that people have shown so far so that we can figure out what it says."

My, oh my! All the eclairs are gone! I must say that I'm quite pleased you enjoyed them as they're a special family recipe that my mother used to say reminded her of "Holmes sweet Holmes". ... sorry inside joke, I guess. Anyway, you'll see that I was up early today preparing a nice selection of assorted croissants filled with cheese, eggs, berries, and even chocolate. Bon appetit!

As for the puzzle pieces, I think it is not unlikely to think that someone may have been given the objective to make a complete puzzle, in hindsight revealing my puzzle piece may not have been too smart.

I hadn't thought of that. Probably something to be a little more wary of. It's possible that it gives insight to who the Witchbreed are. Is it also possible that it provides information to the Witchbreed we don't want revealed?

I think this is possible, but until we have more evidence, I'm inclined to think that one of them is scum and the other is not. I agree it's unlikely that both are, but strange things are afoot!

By the way, I have laid another, simple and effective trap/brainteaser for the Scum. Want to hear what it is?

And this type of attitude is why I think you ought to be the first to go. All your great ideas so far have only raised suspicion among a large number of us. You wasted no time in outing a person who put their trust in you. While I think it's possible you're not scum, if you are a townie, your behavior seems counterproductive. Instead of working to build up trust in the townie community, you're sabotaging it. At least, I know that I'm going to need some serious evidence to trust you in the future if you do survive beyond today. For that, you're my initial vote. If you really are town, please find a way to convince me.

Counterproductivity is exactly what I was going for. I first accused Sir Carrot, to see who defended him and who was with me. Then I stopped accusing him, again seeing who agreed with me and who didn't. I never even suspected him at all. He's simply a confused Townie. I've been lying to you. As you say, stirring the pot to see what bubbles up. And you, my perhaps-enemy, bubbled up. You said this, none of which was helpful:

Inconceivable! Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.

It seems that the Wife of Darth is the only one of us who has said anything other than "let's catch these Witchbreed", so we really have nothing to go on. Most of us have checked in to this point, and it seems that beyond randomly throwing out accusations, we've got nothing else really to go on. There's still quite a bit of time before any votes need to be cast, but that doesn't mean we can't go ahead and start seeing how people react to accusations.

There's two ways to go about it. We've got a handful of folks who've yet to show up and then there's the rest of us. The ones who haven't checked in may not yield anything early. Those who have checked in, if they're regularly here, will hopefully be able to respond.

Darth might be a person to target because she's already encouraging people to contact her (I'm not quite ready to trust you on this one), but I also think it'd be a bit strange for scum to put themselves out there that blatantly this early. So I'll give you a pass for now.

Instead, I'll just pick someone at "random" and see what happens. Wully Tintin, you're offering to sell us some fine furs, but are you really seeking our comfort or is that just so you can get close enough to skin us?

For the rest of you, please enjoy a nice eclair from the table to the left.

Thus, I don't trust you at all. Nothing you have said is productive, and you seem hellbent on getting rid of me. Thus, I will Vote: Franklin Holmes (Fhomess)

Sorry if you're Town, but you're just acting too Scummy to trust.
