well i'm mostly surprised about the poor result of the "200-jet"...

Well, I'm a younger afol, so my 200-Jet is actually the Blacktron2 Aeriel Intruder.

Are they designed by the same guy btw? or is it just a tribute to the old one?

don't know, but i remember that when I saw the blacktron 2 ship, I thought it was more or less a copy of the first

Although everyone voted on this a couple of months ago this is the first time I've ventured down here to the Space Docking Bay, so I thought I'd share my feelings.

A lot of people rave about the 924 which was the very first medium ship released. I'll admit that has a very cool cargo-loading system, and the way the design and colours match it's smaller and larger siblings is nice, but for me it lacks a little something in the looks department.

I much prefer the look of it's immediate successor the 6929. I'm surprised that it didn't get more votes. It's by far and away the best design in both it's sleek looks and it's awesome cargo capacity. My younger brother had this one as a child and it was one of the most played-with sets in our household, both by him, and by me when he wasn't looking! X-D That's the one that gets my vote.

I do have a soft spot for the UFO ship too, mainly because it's the only one of this bunch that I actually own. I keep wondering if I could turn the saucer parts into the bridge of a Starship Enterprise style MOC. Maybe one day I'll get around to it.

Ok, since the thread was brought back to life, I had to vote for 6929 Star Fleet Voyager. I had the set as a kit and somehow it got broken up and eventually tossed out by my mom. :'-( I will own this set again one day.

The Futuron 6932! Absolutely, positively, definitely. In Australia it was called the "Tri-Sec 200 Satellite Carrier", despite a glaring lack of satellites, and incidentally this set was how I learned at age 5 that "tri" means "three" :-$

THE defining Lego set of my childhood. (Of course, it helps that I never owned anything bigger than this until Ice Planet came along.) With other great sets, I'd happily buy multiples, but for the 6932, I don't think I'll ever own more than one. I mean, that would be like having a Star Wars movie with more than one Millennium Falcon in it. ;-)

Incidentally, from a jaded adult perspective I'd probably vote for the 6781 SP-Striker. But the child in me has a fit of jealous rage every time I see it... (bit of a rant coming...)

...see, Lego was REALLY expensive here in Australia back in those days, so almost all my sets were tiny little buggies and one-man skimmers. Anyway, one day, the year Space Police came out, my aunt came to visit. She took me to the Lego aisle of the supermarket and offered to buy me any Space set on the shelf. ANY SET. I remember staring longingly at the 6781, but in a fit of unchildlike thoughtfulness, I decided that it wasn't fair to ask her to buy something that expensive, so I asked for the smaller 6886 instead. I remember her giving me a strange look and saying "Are you sure?" and like a fool I nodded :'-( Kicked myself for YEARS after that. If only my parents hadn't taught me to be considerate of others, dammit! X-D

...thinking back, it's probably a good thing the Mission Commander and the Futuron Monorail weren't on the shelf that day, or I'd feel even worse :-)

I did the 200 jet from Futuron but it may not be fair.

You see, its more about how I first saw it and I how I felt. You see, I was in high school, working at a movie theatre for a few extra bucks.

Years earlier I had written Susan Williams (fake US Customer service woman) and asked about sets that I had seen pictures of in catalogues but were never sold. And what did she tell me but that they were only available in Europe! The scandal! The horror! The urge to collect! She even gave me a store to contact if I wanted to buy from Europe. Magasin Du Nord. So, after some confusing phone calls and a trip to get an international money order I placed an order and got a high speed train and some other sets that were Europe only at the time but the majority ended up available in the US for half the cost I ended up paying.

But it also came with a catalog! And as I eagerly flipped through looking for other Europe only sets, I finally got to space. And the first page had Alien Moon Stalker and a bunch of other available sets. Disheartened I turned the page and there was Futuron! With 6932 (Stardefender 200 in the US) right in the middle. And all these space men in NEW uniforms! with Visors! (that in the US we had just seen on Blacktron). New Uniforms really for the first time ever in Space. And a monorail! And a uniform color scheme! and it looked so different than what came before! And *brain explodey*.

Thankfully, I had no money left and by the time I could scrape enough together for another European package Futuron had landed in the US. And the cool set with the weapon pods on the side was mine!

plus the classic space one was overshadowed by Galaxy Explorer

SP Striker. It's my single favorite space set of any kind.

I didn't even know it existed until 2000 or so (I think it only appeared in the 1989 catalog in the US) but I promptly picked up two copies on ebay at that point. I made some slight modifications to them to allow a second guy to sit in the back, under the canopy extender.

This is a tough choice. I will choose Blacktron however as I love the colour scheme the minifigures and the parts, even if I don't own it.

I really like the SP striker too, the light and sound looks good!
