I'm starting late into the Kingdoms theme because my significant other has shown an interest in them. We can finally enjoy Lego together.

The only set that I cant find from the 2010 releases is the 7946 King's Castle. Amazon has them for $150++, sold out at TRU, S@H, Target, etc. However, they're still available on ebay for about $100 and $30ish shipping.

So, I'm thinking that with the Joust just release, the 7946 Castle is for sure discontinued? It's now or never unless I want to pay big bucks down the road?

All Kingdoms sets are discontinued. I'm very pleased myself to have bought the castle and the mill village raid just yesterday, before it's too late (and at 50 % off due to them being on clearance). I know down the line that I'd regret missing out on them.

Expensive LEGO month for me though, as I've already bought medieval market village, prison tower escape, blacksmith attack and prison carriage rescue (not to mention the pirate soldier's fort)... but again: I just didn't want to miss out. Who knows how long we'll be starved from proper castle sets this time? Could be years...

So, wonder how long the Joust will stick around for? Maybe it will be one of those one-off orphan sets like the Imperial Flagship?

Perhaps we can look at MMV as an indicator? That one is still around (at least for a bit longer) even though the Castle theme it was a part of stopped in what, 2009? Same with the Imperial Flagship. The exclusives seem to be around somewhat longer than the regular sets. Thankfully, as I would have never gotten MVV otherwise!

If there are any Kingdoms sets you want I would act quickly. They do seem to be discontinued. I'm surprised because the most recent wave of Kingdoms has only been out for around six months. I can't remember the last time Lego discontinued sets so soon after releasing them. It is an ominous sign that Lego don't want anything to clash with the upcoming LOTR theme.

I myself still have to get the Mill Village Raid, which is suddenly increasingly scarce around these parts. Its irritating because I've had multiple opportunities to get it a discount and always passed them up, but now I have to pay full price. I fear if I don't get it soon the price is only going to skyrocket.

I also find all of this very strange. As has been mentioned the second wave of Kingdoms sets have only been around for 6 months. I don't remember any sets in the castle line being available for so short a period of time.

I think TLG made a mistake by not making more of these sets. If LOTR doesn't show up on shelves until June then there will be no castle on the shelves until then except for the joust which is cost inhibitive to many buyers. This makes me think the LOTR line is going to show up sooner. Maybe as soon as April?

Best of luck getting the collection. I hope you find what you want.

I would buy up as many Kingdoms sets as possible if you are interested in them. They are completely sold out in every store near me as of today. Last night, one of the Wal-Marts I went to last night had a few sets on 50% clearance (that I purchased). As far as I can tell, the second wave was really short-lived. The stores need to make room for lots of new Lego inventory this next January, so everything was bare at every store I went to last night. They had less than a handful of sets of any theme that wasn't clearanced.

I would snatch the King's Castle while the prices are still relatively reasonable. It's better to spend the money now than regret not purchasing the set and pay an incredible amount of money for it. Hopefully you'll be able to score one at a Walmart while they're currently 50% off.

I'm not happy with this because i don't fell like LEGO Kingdoms releases enough castles.

I think having a full size Castle available at all times is what LEGO has tried to do. My son got LEGO Castles in consecutive years for Christmas. He got 7094 - King's Castle Seige in 2009 and 7946 King's Castle in 2010. I really hope that LEGO releases a Castle type set in the Lord of the Rings line with a high piece count.

I'm disappointed that they havn't released a proper Dragon Castle, only the Prison Tower. The theme itself is surprisingly short-lived compared to the Fantasy Era.

I'm a little disappointed that this series was cut short, would love to get MVR, and 1 or 2 more King's Castles. LotR will be great, although I'm not a huge fan of fleshies.

I agree, this is disappointing - I really wanted to get MVR to add to my little Medieval village that I'm working on. Weird how it is so soon.

I don't really want to shell out that much money at this time though... I wonder if there's any chance stores around my area will have it on clearance.

I'm a big fan of LOTR though, like many others, I don't like fleshies (or licensed set prices). :cry_sad:

I was lucky to get one of these sets for xmas from my GF - mainly because I was given a table top trebuchet for my birthday and I needed a target  I'm glad I got it when I did now that I see it coming out of stock in places.

I think TLG needs to give us proper castles on a more regular basis
