Masked Builder Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Alexis arrives in the arena right behind Atramor, and readies herself for battle. "Alright Atramor, let's do this." First I shall try an ice spell then I will use my flute from the back row!
K-Nut Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 (edited) "Pleasure was mine Arthur, you won't be able to seal every enemy you face and have such an easy battle, I'll teach you that later." Althior was about to leave the arena as he saw the next battle taking place. He looked down and saw Atramor, who drew out their dagger. The opponent, no, it couldn't be. It was Alexis. He turned and watched the battle intently. Prepare for Battle! Alexis summons Ocven to aid her in battle. she also tries to put Atramor to sleep, but fails at doing so. CMP Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 (edited) Alexis should have 5 health left due to the poisoning. Atramor frowns at Ocven as he bursts into existence. Wonderful...his face lightened as he saw her face turn an ugly purple poisoned pallor, though, and he stabbed at her again, this time from the back row. Edited April 15, 2012 by CallMePieOrDie
K-Nut Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Alexis should have 5 health left due to the poisoning. GM Note: That Happens already? Jeez that talisman is way OP.
Masked Builder Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 "Don't you know better than to hit a woman Atramor?! Just kidding, I will attack with my bow this time, from the back row, then take a potion, Ocven hit him full on!"
K-Nut Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Alexis vs. Atramor: Critical Hit Alexis drinks a potion Ocven vs. Atramor: Hit Atramor vs. Alexis: Shield Althior watches as Alexis fires an arrow straight into the chest of Atramor, dealing 10 damage and KOing him. Alexis is Victorious! Both combatants are restored to full health and ether, consumables not replaced, no XP gained, etc. ~~~~~~~~~~ Althior watched as Atramor got up from Alexis' arrow. Finnegan had also returned with his wand all shiny and new. Althior didn't even bother to take the stairs. He jumped the rail and landed with a thud on the arena floor. What had the witch done to Alexis? He didn't care, he was going to pay for it. "Don't go anywhere, Witch! I Althior Emorith (K-nut) challenge Atramor Gibbin (CallMePieOrDie) to a duel!"
CMP Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 What the hell...? Atramor has 34 health, and 2 defense...
K-Nut Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 What the hell...? Atramor has 34 health, and 2 defense... GM Note: I forgot from the first round that Alexis dealed 30 damage along with her summon. Even with the 2 defense, you were still knocked out.
Masked Builder Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 "Well fought Atramor, I had some good luck this time with getting Ocven so early. Good job my friend." As she pats Ocven on the side. She watches as Althior jumps into the arena. "Now Althior, I wasn't hurt at all there, is that any reason to get so worked up over it?"
CMP Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Sorry, I didn't know Evokers dealt damage with their Shield in the Arena... If that was the case, I probably would've healed, but you marked me up as having full health. Don't mean to be a sore loser, just a little lost. Atramor gets to his feet, rubbing his head. Apparently he'd somehow taken damage without realizing... "I accept your challenge, Althior."

GM Note: I did go back and changed it before, just forgot to speak up. Sorry 'bout that, maybe you'll just beat Althior instead.
CMP Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 (edited) You changed the initial battle stats, I thought it was just a typo that you corrected after the first round. This arena is so rigged. Atramor circles Althior, wiping Alexis' blood off of Ratsbane and preparing to stab at him from the front row. Edited April 15, 2012 by CallMePieOrDie
K-Nut Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Althior steps into the back row and fires a bolt of darkness at Atramor.

Also mention if you want to try to flee, move, heal, or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking.
CMP Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Atramor smirks as both his and Althior's eyes glow an unearthly orange. He stabs at Althior from the front row, while, with a wave of the Witch's hand, Althior attacks himself with darkness from the front row as well. I'm assuming that's how Hexed works.
Masked Builder Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I'm assuming that's how Hexed works. GM Note: Not quite sure, he might get to choose his own actions but again, not sure.
CMP Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 The definition of Hexed is 'acts against itself', but it is a pretty vague description, and I don't think it's occurred before.
Masked Builder Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 The definition of Hexed is 'acts against itself', but it is a pretty vague description, and I don't think it's occurred before. GM Note: I would think it's more like he does his own action against himself but that's basically what you said. Let's see what K-nut/Doc has to say about this.
K-Nut Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Althior heals Atramor from the back row. Okay, if I act against myself instead of an opponent, it should work that if I heal an opponent, it should heal me instead, correct?
Brickdoctor Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Other GM's Note: The definition of the Hexed effect is, "The target acts against an ally instead of an opponent for a Turn," with no mention of being able to choose actions. In a quest, obviously, that's because enemies can't choose actions. In the Arena, I would say that the Hexed hero still gets to choose his action, because the definition of the effect implies that the effect takes place while the target is acting, not while a target is deciding how to act. It's not mind control.
CMP Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Perhaps, but I'd rather my Shield not be completely useless in the Arena while others get enhanced. Why not, for fairness, the hexed person just deals damage to themselves equal to their WP?

Why not, for fairness, the hexed person just deals damage to themselves equal to their WP? GM Note: Before Doc came, I was thinking of having him just repeat his last action against himself. But that doesn't sound to bad.
CMP Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 GM Note: Before Doc came, I was thinking of having him just repeat his last action against himself. But that doesn't sound to bad. Is that what we're doing, then?
Brickdoctor Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 GM Note: Actually, thinking about this, even though enemies in quests don't choose their own actions, they always attempt to do as much Damage as possible to heroes. With that in mind, a Hexed hero in the Arena should act as if he were not Hexed, and be forced to perform whichever action the GM thinks would be most beneficial to him were he not Hexed. In this case, that would mean that Althior would attempt to cast a Darkness Spell at Atramor using Dragoro from the Back Row.
