Worked fine for me. As usual, an excellent blog and brought back many happy memories as this is probably the era my interest was at a peak with lego (as a kid). I remember spending hours looking at the Lego catalogue waiting for the UK release-spending an afternoon in Edinburgh hoping to find the skeleton surprise set! Can remember being so happy to see all the castle sets on display in a department store!

I still have the baseplate from 6090-the castle is long since demolished though!

Thats so strange about it not working, I have checked it all (logged off and found it through google) and its all fine, it could possibly be that I had lots of people viewing it in the first few hours whcih might have slowed the load time down, but I really don't know.

If your still interested, I urge you to try again as its a fairly good read and I am sure it should work now.

Sorry for the inconvience

Cheers all

I have had both the Kings Carriage and the Royal Knights Castle since I was a kid. I have to say that it is one of Lego's best castles. The thing is huge and it also has a lot of features for playability and detail like the early dragon heads on the roof. Great design and a wonderful castle. Thank you for doing this theme overview; it has given me a lot of memories. :classic:

It's still not working for me. :sceptic: Which is sad because this is the theme I grew up with.

It works in Firefox, but the CSS seems to be broken in at least IE9.

Yeah its not working through explorer for some reason but I have taken it off for now and am installing some updates for my blog and then I will put it back again, give me a few hours and it should be working

Once again Steve you pull out a great job! Just love to read about all the classic factions! :classic: The Royal Knights is not one of my favourites but they have a pretty good color scheme!

Great review!!

Just to let you all know that it is now working in all formats, explore, google chrome, firefox and so on.

Sorry about the problems before.

Thanks for the adjustments SirSven7, it works now, from my end (using Internet Explorer).

Though not my favorite theme, I did have a lot of fun with the sets I owned from it – though the Royals’main role in my play was to have their Megablocks kicked by the Dragon Masters!

The King’s Carriage is actually my favorite carriage/vehicle of the whole castle line – considering how compact it is (a good thing), it comfortably seats a whopping 4 figs and treasure chest. And it had a king!

Themes like this are the backbone of the Castle line, I guess.

Keep up the great work!

I still have some issues with saving the page, but otherwise it's good. I think it's probably just a problem with my internet connection, it's been acting up recently. Nice review. This faction was one of my favourites.

Thanks to your article I have now a better knowledge about the Royal Knights, I used to confused them with the guys who also have the lion printed on their shields and fight the bulls but really lack of carisma. :cry_sad: It will not happen again.

As usual I enjoyed reading you. :classic:

Your welcome Ardelon I am sorry it took so long for the site to work properly (thanks for not giving up) I was a fan of he carriage set but just not so pleased with the build of it now I am a jaded AFOL rather than a youngester.

palathadric / Artifex thanks both for the lovly comments its nice to know the reviews are apericated.

Niku the sets your thinking of are fro Knights Kingdom 1 and yest they have the same shields printing (though in blue) so I can understand your confusion, that theme in general lacked something but it was when LEGO was going bankruped so they can be forgiven I guess (I will be reviewing those sets later too).

Cheers again everyone, next up is Dark Forest and as there are only three sets for those guys, it will be up hopefully by Monday

Steve - Wanted to drop a note to let you know that I'm enjoying your blog. After looking at the pictures of the Castle series, I began to notice a lot of familiar looking pieces in my spare parts bin. Most of these parts were found dumped in a pile in a parking lot many years ago (including minifigures :sweet:). I think now I'll try and resurrect some of these sets. Thanks and keep up the good work.

BTW, Your blog works great w/Chrome

you found LEGO in a parking lot *oh2* thats amazing I was never that lucky, me best find was sabre island at a car boot sale for £2 (back when I was about 8)

I wish you the best luck resurecting those sets
