Octan Tank Cars from Truck Parts

Has anyone ever used the Octan tank truck to make a tanker car?

Exactly like that! What extra pieces/parts did you have to order to make this work?

I'm getting the yellow cargo train in the next few weeks and wanted to have 4-5 tank cars for my layout...

Edit: Anyone have a picture of one like this next to the tanker in the yellow train set? I'm curious how the two look together.

Although for my layout I will take out one of the sections to make it closer to the tanker in the yellow cargo set. I see how it's all done, but can't really tell how he did the wheel base on each end.

Probably the 4x6 plate with knob directly into one of the empty technic holes in the bottom of the inverted cylinder slopes....

I just like the way it's layed out and not because it's "bigger"...

I think I'm going to use Roams design and put a ladder at each end or something. Not sure if the under parts will be grey or black yet either.

I started designing one last night that is 2 sections wide. I like the look of the dual rail tires on both ends, but not sure if I will keep it like that since I want to put some stuff under it for unloading purposes. Only problem I'm having is finding the gauge piece in LDD that is on the octan truck...Anyone know how to find that piece in LDD?

After playing around with different ideas Roams was the best looking that I liked. So that's the design I will be using for mine.

In case anyone wanted; I decided to realise some $$ for other bricklink purchases (the project will surface here in March)... so decided to liquidate the Octan tankers on ebay.
