It's on of those rare cases when I like my own MOC myself. ) Reminded me of an HP Lovecraft tale, forgot which one though. Excellent job though Mr. Penguin. I can't recall any of his stories that involve a lighthouse, but it's great that you got such a feeling! Thanks! This is very nice! CorneliusMurdock Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 nice Again, your post would be much better if you expanded on why you think it's nice. And added punctuation and capitalization. Quote
commodore_legolas Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I love it! Arkam is for the Criminally Insane, though right? So why do I have to go there?! Quote
The Blue Brick Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 This is awesome. I love the gloomy setting, very Gotham like. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Great back story. Great build. It kept me interested. Keep up the great work! I can't wait to read more. Quote
friedchikenfairy Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 This is my fifth time visiting this topic and it still gives me the goosebumps Really, the MOC is beautifully built-I especially like the statue (it really is the icing on the cake )- and the presentation is flawless. The only thing that bothers me is a tidbit in the second to last photo. I have a wild temptation to reach into the computer screen and click the bricks together (unless that was intentional, in which case this post would be rather embarrassing for me ). Anyways, I really enjoyed the little story. I wonder if we'll see more of Tom... P.S. Sorry Penguin, but everyone knows chickens are cooler than penguins . Taste better too. Not that i tried penguin before ... Quote
LegoCloneFanatic Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Awesome.... nice ennding of the comic and I so want to build a Gottham city or Batcave in my life. :-) Quote
Flying Ace Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Beautiful and atmospheric. The Gotham City storyline stands on its own quite nicely, but the mood you have created also reminds me of "The Fog Horn" by Ray Bradbury, as well as a famous old story/radio drama called "Three Skeleton Key." Quote
Bricktooth Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Great story and MOC! This fits into the Batman universe nicely. The lighthouse is an excellent reimagination of the set 5770 Lighthouse Island, although in a much darker mood. The headpiece of the statue is a modified version of the Statue of Liberty minifig's hair, right? Hopefully you will continue this story, as it kept me really excited! Quote
fatfrog2596 Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I'm speechless.. truly captures the Gotham architecture. The building and the figures are beautiful! Outstanding job Quote
Sah Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 It's that greyish statue of the Mermaid that really does it for me. :) Excellent work overall. Quote
