Oky Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Hm... It's hard to say how credible it is, considering its the LMB, but it doesn't sound like something someone would make up, and I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. It's not the first time something like this has happened, and there have been rumors of TDKR sets for a while. After all, we haven't even seen pics of the Ultimate Spider-Man set yet, and it's around the corner, so there could very well be some TDKR sets that we don't know about yet. But before I'll give this any serious thought, I'll say: "Pics or it didn't happen." Quote
The_Creator Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Nope. Okay, now I've read it, and I'll say that I don't know. Mostly because of where it was posted. Yea not the most reliable website but you never know there could be some truth to it. I just wish there was a picture, that would be helpful. -The_Creator Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I almost want to believe it (I'd rather have one exactly like the Comic-con one, but still TDKR sets! ), but without a picture, which I don't believe the Messageboards allow, I just can't. Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 The only thing about this I am not believing is the fact that perhaps it was just a mistake, and that it has nothing at all to do with TDKR sets. I believe this person is telling the truth about having a different looking cowl, but I think we are all just jumping to conclusions about it being a 'symbol' of TDKR sets. On another note, has anyone picked up any Marvel sets in US stores?? I really want those sets before Easter, but I just can't find them anywhere. Quote
sok117 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I think it sounds like the biggest load of **** i've ever read. Didn't that guy know April Fools was a couple days ago? Quote
hjmediastudios Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 In another note, has anyone picked up any Marvel sets in US stores?? I really want those sets before Easter, but I just can't find them anywhere. I talked to my local Target folks, and they said they had the new stuff on order. They actually had the Cosmic Cube Escape and the Avenging Cycle on hand, but couldn't release them until the 8th. I tried slipping them some cash, but they just laughed and told me to wait. Quote
Flipz Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I think adding Cyclops would be good. And I agree with you on the comic. I actually enjoyed it more then any of the DC ones (excluding the one that came with the LEGO Club Magazine). What DC set that came with the LEGO Magazine? Quote
Piranha Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I saw this on the Lego Message Boards, I wonder if its true? http://messageboards...?PostID=5365190 -The_Creator I would like to see a picture as well, it might be a production error possibly. Quote
Delta 38 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) I found the link: here. It seems to be the normal version, if I'm not wrong... Edited April 5, 2012 by Delta 38 Quote

Piranha Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 After looking at it, it does look like a new mold. It could be that TLG is just updating the old one. However it would be cool to get a production leak in a set. Quote
deskp Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Thats certainly new, and it looks soo much better than the old/regular one. and yes it looks alot like the one in the new bat movies. Quote
Big T Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 That's definitely a new mould, the emphasised brow looks straight outta the Dark Knight What gets me giddy is if they've already made (and possibly producing) a new mould, it suggests to me that there will be Dark Knight Rises (or if they are just updating, more sets) by the end of the year. Would make sense, July is still a few months away, so the superhero sets that we know of would have died down. Plus isn't the new game released around then? Be good to offer sets to buy alongside it Quote
Oky Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 What DC set that came with the LEGO Magazine? Comic, not set. I found the link: here. That does look official and indeed very TDK-ish! The fact that it sits so low proves that it cannot be a simple update for the current figs since it doesn't look good on them, and it would make sense for TDK Batman to have lower eye holes since his real eyes need to be showing. I am convinced that we will get a completely redesigned Bats if we get TDKR sets (which seems even more likely now). Quote
Ceroknight Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I'm very happy with this news. This means I can save my money to buy a better set with a black costumed Batman. Quote

Hopefully they'll add some leg printing to make it pop even more. It looks like a mix btween Nolans and Burtons Really glad theres a new mold for the cowl, the original always looked really bad from the side. quick photoshop: Edited April 5, 2012 by deskp Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I still don't know if I can believe it, it might be the photo, but it looks a little rough. Prototype maybe? I'll be an optimist and just say that it's a bad photo! Quote

I'll be an optimist and just say that it's a bad photo! It's just a little less shiny, look like a finished product to me, it might be of the rubbery plastic that Lokis helmet is made of. The molding line/seem shouldnt be there if it was a prototype. (btw the perspective in this pic is part of why new one looks way smaller.) Quote
______ Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 That mask looks fantastic, what a lucky guy! It definitely looks like the TDK one! But how did that even happen? If it was an error in the factory I'd expect a lot more to be "accidentally" packaged. Looks very nice though. Quote

Some are suggesting they are just changing out all batman cowls, but aparently not the printing to fit..... Aparently some person got a blue one of these in the funhouse but I havent seen images of it yet. On a sidenote, I'd love a picture of the lego logo on it to verify 100% Quote

Wouldn't they say "I believe that the photographer can take better photos", or something? Now, to be on topic. I really like the new mask. I'm VERY hopeful that's a sign of TDK/TDKR sets. I'd love an official TDK Joker. As long as Dark Knight sets don't interfere with our chances of getting a new Nightwing fig. Quote

Two-face, Joker, Bane, Scarecrow and Catwoman please! Ra's would be cool aswell but hes the most boring of the bunch. You can have your precious Nighwing when the movie sets are done with Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 If it is made out of rubber, it could in theory be smaller, or at least the ears could be thinner/pointier. An optimist wouldn't say it's a bad photo, would they? Wouldn't they say "I believe that the photographer can take better photos", or something? Because that would mean that it's real, the photo is just bad. (And I'm not used to being an optimist, sorry if that wasn't very positive.) Quote

The_Box Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I was wondering why the cowl I received in the new Batwing set seemed off. Now I know why. However, putting this "new" cowl on a regular head does not result in eyes showing through the eye holes. Quote
