YangHao6998 Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 I think there's a lot of potential for other Helicarrier sets, since a lot of the film took place there, and if Super Heroes becomes as big as Star Wars like we're all hoping, a UCS Helicarrier seems very likely. We will probably have to wait until Avengers 2 before we see a Thanos fig though. Or maybe he will be in Thor 2 next year! Quote
K-Nut Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Or maybe he will be in Thor 2 next year! Possibly. Thanos was a recurring character throughout the marvel comics (At least Iron Man, Thor, Cap, and I think Hulk) so there could be a chance to get him in a set from any one of those movies. Quote
DarkSurgeXL Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) I haven't watched this topic so far, and could you please tell me more information about the Spiderman Doc Ock ambush? Are there any pics already? Edited May 12, 2012 by DarkSurgeXL Quote

Nope, which is quite strange. There are pictures of the figures though, but you've probably have seen those already. Quote

They probably don't want to spoil anything, and that's why they haven't released any photos of the set. I suspect it to come out the same time the City Garage comes out- late July/early August. Quote

I've been watching the cartoon and although Iron-fist is one of the main characters, Doctor Octopus hasn't fully appeared yet. They keep hinting at him and he makes some cameos, but my guess is he's got a large roll towards the end of the series. Maybe the set is based on the final two episodes. Anyway I hope they don't just base the Spider-man stuff on the new cartoon, even though I like it the changes they have made to the story are a bit strange and lacking. I hope they base some sets on the comics for Spider-man and Avengers stuff. Maybe the new Spider-man set is a Target and Tesco exculsive? Makes sense as Toys R us has a blue DC set. Faefrost Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Or maybe he will be in Thor 2 next year! There have been rumors swirling that one of the yet unnamed movies in some stage of production is a modern (abnett and Lansing) version of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Among other things that would probably put Drax the Destroyer on the board. If that is the case we may see an escalating story arch with Thanos building over several properties and movies that finally climaxes in the next Avengers one. I really hope this is the case. I so want Starlord, Rocket Racoon and Groot minifigs. Quote

Zergos Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I just got Loki's cosmic cube escape, and man I loved it! Like seriously I thought that Iron Man's helmet was gonna be too big, but it was the perfect size. I love Hawkeye's new compound bow, and I love how they made the Loki figure as well. Overall I loved all of it, can't wait to pick up some more of these sets. Quote
eldiano Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 So Marvel and DC in is pretty much a dream come true, I started collecting minifigures like crazy and I am nearly complete on DC, and I'm about to start Marvel, can't wait for the spiderman set though, instant Buy, but I have a question that's been nagging me, the batcave batman and robin and the villains are based on a cartoon or just generic colors used through out the universe? I think this year's Batcave set is more intended to capture a generic "comic book/cartoon" look than to resemble any specific media depiction of the Batcave. Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 The Avengers sets still haven't appeared around here(Mexico). Quote
Lyichir Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I think this year's Batcave set is more intended to capture a generic "comic book/cartoon" look than to resemble any specific media depiction of the Batcave. That's one of the things I've loved about the Batman license since it debuted. Unlike movie tie-in licenses, it creates a new depiction of the iconic vehicles, objects and locations that is suited to the LEGO brand. Even the tie-in sets with The Dark Knight weren't explicitly depicting events from that movie, but rather featured the vehicles from that movie in new, unique situations. I'm hoping that the Legend of Zelda Cuusoo project's final form, if it does make it as a set, can do something similar, drawing from various Zelda icons instead of resembling any one game in particular. For this reason, I'm also a little disappointed with the Marvel sets. The only sets we've seen are based specifically on The Avengers and the new Spider-Man cartoon (except for the X-Men set, which is one of my favorites of the bunch). I was hoping they'd go the D.C. route and make sets based generally on the Marvel mythology instead of on any one movie or show. Quote

I think next year that LEGO will deffinately make more sets based on comics. IMO the X-men set and Spidey set were just teasers. There's no telling what LEGO will do but I'm guessing next year we will get one or two Spidey sets, one or two X-men sets and the remaining sets spilt between Iron-man 3 and Thor 2. I can also see them doing a shop@home exclusive like they did with diagonal alley. Quote
Clone gunner comander jedi Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 New spiderman on sale here! probably stolen from the mexican factory Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I think I like him now. He looks better than in the comic. Quote
CMP Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 He looks very cartoony. I much prefer the version from the Spider-Man 2 sets, the red/dark blue combo was awesome. Quote
Omicron Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 He looks very cartoony. Cuz he is based on a cartoon? -Omi Quote
CMP Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Cuz he is based on a cartoon? Yeah. He's accurate, I suppose, but I just don't like the look. Quote
The Blue Brick Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I really like this Spiderman, but the red on the torso seems off from the head and hands. I would love him if they were exactly the same tone of red. Quote
