LMB10 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Potential Lego sets? (speculation on my part) Marvel is currently developing two new Animated TV Series - 'Avengers Assemble' and 'Hulk: Agents of S.M.A.S.H.'. SMASH will be similar to Ultimate Spider-Man. The series includes Hulk, Skaar, Red Hulk and She-Hulk. Considering it'll be similar to USM, can we assume Lego will produce sets based on that? It would open up an oppourtuninty for many characters. Hulk and Red Hulk would be easy. Avengers Assemble will be similar in tone to The Avengers movie. And Avengers was a mega hit - Lego should instantly think about making sets, surley? It includes the movie lineup + Falcon, so wouldn't be hard to make. Ant-Man, Black Panther and Ms. Marvel might be added later. This, with the minifigs alone, has potential. I'd love a Falcon figure. Ant-Man also. Do we think Lego will make sets for these series, or will it just be one or two, like with Ultimate Spider-Man? Oh, and if anyone's interested, the information came from THIS site. Oh, and if anyone's interested, the information came from the-bean-on-the-future-of-marvel-animation-and-did-he-just-mention-a-new-x-men-tv-series/'>THIS site. I think Lego will most likely keep the Avengers and Hulk sets based on previous and future films. It might be a bit confusing to kids otherwise. The ultimate Spiderman show isn't too bad and Lego will have enough potential sets on there plate with the second series of USM, Iron-man 3, Thor 2 and X-men. It would be very cool to get Red Hulk and She Hulk plus Ant man but I dont think it will happen. Hope I'm wrong though. Quote

The reason why LEGO has made the Ultimate Spiderman set is because LEGO knows that they wont have a liscense for a Spiderman Movie for a long time, as The Amazing Spiderman is planned to be a trilogy. Since LEGO has rights to the Marvel Cinematic Trilogy, it would be stupid to make sets based of the TV series when they could just use the movies as source material. On the other hand, the new X-Men show (which wont be out for at least a year) should have sets, as LEGO doesn't have rights to the films. Quote

Hopefully the new X-men show would look at lot like the comics. Other wise the X-men minifigs will all of a sudden change appearance. I personally think they should keep em based on the comics, and as much as I like USM they should have based the sets on the comics as well. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter what universe the Spider man set is based on. As long as there's an interest in the character at the time ( New movie and TV show) kids will want it. Vindicare Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Are you sure we'd see sets based of the X-Men cartoon, with comic ones out/coming out? I suppose they could add it to their stable of possibilities. Quote

super curry max Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I think we will probably see Nightwing and Killercroc next year and most likely Scarecrow too. Alfred however I'm not sure about as I would have thought he would have been included in the Batcave. Unless Lego release a Wayne Manor there's not many places they could put him unless they just throw him in a set randomly. I think we'll see a new robin(damian) before we see a new nightwing. Im hoping for red robin and batgirl and batwoman(cassandra) figs myself. Quote

has a differing opinion Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Do you think LEGO would use this piece as Ant-Man? I don't think so, since it's so small, but they might use a microfigure. I hope lego releases Ant-Man in both minifigure and microfigure form. Quote
305Bats Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I'm hoping to see comic versions of Captain America and Thor, don't like the movie versions. Quote

That's a great idea to use the microfigure for Ant-Man! I'm sure we'll see some Ant-Man sets if the movie from Edgar Wright ever sees release. Quote
Stryker Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 This one? Thats awesome, I hope they come out with that Nick Fury. Quote
Sam892 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I think our best chance of getting a Fury fig is in a visual dictionary. It would be another great reason to buy a dictionary of Lego Marvel Superheroes. Also it would be a great way to tie all the characters together as Nick Fury brings them together in the film and has close links to all superheroes in the comics. Quote

I don't think we would get one after only one wave, though. It could be a couple of years before we see something like that. Maybe they could include it in a bluray release exclusive to Lego S@H. Lothos Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I know this is a long shot, but has anyone heard about the bat-family coming into existance? Not just Robin and Batman, but every hero in Gotham? Cop or Mask? Quote

Vindice Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Comic con should be interesting this year. I think we will more likely see another wave of Batman sets than other DC material. At the end of the day any set that might include characters like the Penguin, Nightwing, Killer Croc and probably another Riddler set would almost certainly outsell anything else produced off DC. I would be surprised to see another Avengers set at this point. If they did one i think i'd rather see one based off the current Earth's mightiest heroes show that includes Black Panther, Wasp and Ant-man. I think X-Men will be the most likely with some Spiderman. They have to have another couple of villains in the wave. My guess would be that we will see Mystique, Sabretooth and possibly a Sentinel. I think it will be sometime before we saw more ambitious sets featuring characters like Apocalypse or Mr Sinister unfortunately. Quote

I reckon we'll get a couple more Bat-sets, but I don't think it'll be the DC domination we saw in the first wave. There'll probably be another Superman set (I know I read there were talks of a Daily Planet set) and either Green Lantern or Flash or something I reckon. And probably 2-3 Batman sets. I'm hoping for a new/revised Scarecrow minifig personally. Quote

Agreed Lego will most likely focus on the brotherhood before apocalypse. It would be cool if after all possible X-men vs Brotherhood sets that X-men line be changed to X-men apocalypse. This way it would be less confusing for young kids when they see the X- men and Brotherhood team up. Kind of the same way Star wars sets have Clone wars and Old republic on the boxes. Quote
TenorPenny Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Thus far, Lego and Marvel have worked on sets which are pretty much based on everything but the comics, directly. The Avengers sets were clearly based from the films, the Spiderman set is based off of the new cartoon, the X-Men set is based off generic themes, primarily - seems to me - the Wolverine film (Chopper VS Bike) and two characters more who are now ubiquitous through Marvel. Thus, I would say to people waiting for Mr Sinister, etc, could be waiting a long, long time. Quote
legofreak86 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Has anyone heard any more about the dark knight rises lego set, that lego said would be released in july to coincide with the film? Brickipedia says that lego announced it a while ago and there is likely to be at least one set.It is almost july now and i was simply wondering if any details have been revealed. Quote

The were available at other stores too! POTC 4 special Cars 2 DVD speical Also, does anyone know if the POTC one is still available ?
