Amset-Rah Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Alas, my first actual contribution to the thread! I have his chains, but I was too lazy to get them for the picture, and yes I embellished a bit in Photoshop for his flames. :P Quote

Please excuse the god awful quality of some of the pictures, my phone's focus wouldn't do crap for me. I don't think so. Maybe. They don't fall under my personal definition of superhero, but that doesn't apply here. Any admin like to answer that? Quote

Emmet: Of course, you can't have Emmet without the Piece of Resistance! Hard Hat Emmet: Benny (SPACESHIP!): Batman: Bad Cop: Good Cop: Group Shot: Interesting idea making purist TLM minifigs, but except for Batman (who needs one of these in black on his head IMO), none of them belong under "Super Heroes". Also, looks like Benny is working for the Dark Side a.k.a. Octan now. Quote
Amset-Rah Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 TLM doesn't really scream superhero to me. Sure there are some in the film like Batman and Green Lantern, but a lot of them have already been made in some form. It'd work for a separate thread I feel, but interesting idea nonetheless. Quote
LuxorV Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Please, let's not start a debate on the TLM figs. If you want my opinion as a Mod, though, as someone seems to have asked for it, I think they should not be included in this topic for two reasons: most of them are not Super Heroes (just a handful of DC ones in the movie) and all of them already exist as purist (i.e., original) LEGO figures (even the uber-rare SDCC film version GL), so no need to make them 'custom'. I would invite Cheatster9000x to open a new thread where to share his 'Custom made TLM characters' and move the discussion about them in that place. Hope this solves the controversy and we can get back to the normal programming now. Quote
autorazr Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I'm not the mod, but I've got enough balls to say, No. This is not a place I come to to see Lego Movie stuff, thats already everywhere else. Quote
LuxorV Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Please, autorazr, refrain from posting further comments like this, as they do not add a thing to the topic and only provoke friction. I already stepped in and, as you said yourself, you're not a mod. Thank you. Quote
autorazr Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I figured with all the content I provide, I was entitled to an opinion, oh well, have more content. Jack Kirby's New Gods. Barda and Oberon Mr. Miracle and Granny Goodness Quote

Barda and Oberon Mr. Miracle and Granny Goodness Those are so great! I'll probably have to copy your Barda into flesh tone! Quote
Repeter Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Nice, autorazr--the New Gods are some my favorite comic characters, visually. I made these same customs, many pages back, including an Orion. Quote
autorazr Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) yeah Repeter they are similar to yours, but I thought my concept for Barda's breast plate was worth sharing, and using that tile from UFO as mother box. I was bummed the egyptian queen hair would not fit with that body wear on Barda, but whatever, still thinking about better hair for her someday. Edited March 5, 2014 by autorazr Quote
Repeter Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about how that breastplate turned out--might have to alter my Barda to match. Also, I really, really dig your Oberon...like, alot. Quote
autorazr Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Do you know of a yellow head with gray sideburns? I wish he had more of his mutton chops thing going on, you used wolverines head right? I gotta have yellow so I can still use that hair piece. Quote

Repeter Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I used Joshamee Gibbs (might have the name wrong) from Pirates of Carribean. Fairly close to the head Cult_of_Skaro linked. Quote

Repeter Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 That one's good, but he wanted a yellow one. Oh I know...autorazr and I go back more than a few pages. He is our resident 'yellow guy'. :) I was just letting him know which head I used on my Oberon, many pages back. Quote
autorazr Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I gotta bricklink that head, its prob as perfect as i'll get. Quote
Amset-Rah Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Okay, so I was working on some purist figures, and I'm wanting to make a good Agent Coulson. So far I have Bilbo's head and Lex Luthor's body, but I'm stuck on the hair. I want to use Emmet's but I want him to look similar to his Lego Marvel appearance. Any ideas on a better head or hairpiece? Maybe some ideas on his gun? Quote

Amset-Rah Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I have the Obi-Wan hair, but it's black instead of brown (Though doesn't the doctor in the Flying Flusher Lego Movie set have it in brown?) and that gun might be a bit hard to get a hold of, since I haven't seen it since the 2008 Batman sets. I haven't seen the POTC cook head, so I can't judge him, but I'm liking how Bilbo or even Pippen's head looks on him. Not a complete custom, but has anyone else used the CMF graduate robe on Nick Fury as a purist trenchcoat? Quote

You can always BL it and the gun. You can get Obi-wan's hair in the new Grievous Wheelbike. Quote
ReZourceman Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Autorazr, mad props for highlighting this idea, I think it looks awesome. I got the whole set in the end - there are actually some other good pieces, such as the hair piece for (Andrea?) will make a good Misty Knight hair piece. I've got a few more to upload too, but for now; Quote
