Scubacarrot Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 "We did, he ain't undead, thats for sure, so no vampire. Dyric there, managed to hurt him with a normal, non-magic weapon. He did summon bats out of nowhere, which he somehow used to fly away on. He seemed bothered by the garlic spray, it's not tested on humans, I think, but his coughing was over what me or you, uh, not you, you know what I mean, would do." Guts held up the bag, and said: "We ran into one of your competitors in the park, a seller of cheap, but dangerous, drugs. We figured you might like to see this."

Could you perhapth return to the park one more time, and thallenge the count to a battle? There mutht be a reathon vhy he thunth daylight... Here, take thethe holy bombth and tetht them on the count. You thould altho have thome of the diluted potion levt, right? Pleathe uthe it on him athvell." Dr. Cula hands the party three bombs. 3x Holy Bomb- Causes 5 points of light-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to light. "We ran into one of your competitors in the park, a seller of cheap, but dangerous, drugs. We figured you might like to see this." "That ith a pleathure to hear. Does the party have anything else they wish to say to the doctor?
Scubacarrot Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 "I trust you take the extra work we will be doing into consideration, when the matter of payment is discussed, as the initial job -and reward- was for simply finding out wether or not the Count was a vampire, or not." Guts took the bombs, and dished one out to each Dak and Dyric, before turning back to the doctor. "I'll leave my companions to finish up anything they want to say, I would like to get some rest before the evening, if at all possible. I'm not getting any younger."
Sandy Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 "I trust you take the extra work we will be doing into consideration, when the matter of payment is discussed, as the initial job -and reward- was for simply finding out wether or not the Count was a vampire, or not." Jutht becauthe I've lotht, it doethn't mean U'lalah hath von yet." QM Note: The party will automatically rest for the day, returning to the park fully replenished.
Scubacarrot Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 "Greedy? No. But I don't like the sound of something you suspect gets hurt by blessed bombs, to a simple man like me that sounds like you half expect the man to be a demon of sorts. Now, he could very well be a wizard with a skin-disease, but I don't know if that is exactly better. The job description mentioned vampires, not demons or wizards, so we came prepared and equipped for vampires... "
The Legonater Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 So, we're going for one more strike? Would anyone care to lend me another potion? It would be best for me to be at full strength, if we're going after this guy again. If you want, I can always pay your back when we get back to the Hall.

Sandy Posted June 9, 2012 Author Posted June 9, 2012 "Alright, we are rested, let's go the places we know for sure he is not at, we might find something useful, be it information or otherwise. Let's go to the Grove of the Forsaken." As the rogues were leaving the guildhouse, they were once more stopped by Madame Ladybug. "Hmmm, there you are. Alphonse told me about your findings. I would consider the wager solved, myself, but I will let Alphonse keep the last of his pride, hmmm. I am actually interested to know the true nature of Count Shadeaux, too. I wish you the best luck on your endeavour. Hmm hmm..." Thanking the herbalist, the party continued their way back to Triad Park. There was something special in the air that night. The three rogues felt confident that this halfwitted quest would reach its conclusion soon. As they approached the Grove of the Forsaken, they heard muted voices arguing. Peeking from the bushes, they saw a bearded man with a strange gadget on his back and another man with ginger hair and an eyepatch. "-- not have part in your schemes anymore", the older man finished his sentence. "But I'm so close to our goal!" said the man with the eye-patch desperately. "My brother does not suspect a thing, but I fear it is just a matter of time before he finds out about my involvement in the Jolly Roger ploy. And if I go down, you are going down with me!" "Harrumph, your empty threats do not intimidate me! My patrons already have a plan of their own, and you, my misguided friend, are not included. You would do well to leave this city for good, before your brother hangs you for your crimes." "They were our crimes, don't you forget that!" "How could I forget the biggest mistake I ever made. The Tritech Company lost a fortune in that debacle. You are not going to get me involved in another one. Farewell!" The old man pulled a lever on his gadget, and much to the rogues surprise rose into the air and flew away. "I'll show you, one day soon. I'll show everyone!" murmured the ginger-haired man as he walked away. There was nothing else to be found in the grove.
Scubacarrot Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 "Hmm, I get the feeling I knew the man with the eyepatch from somewhere, and that kind of technology can come from only one place... Anyway, it's not important, let's head to the Luminous Passage."
Sandy Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 Anyway, it's not important, let's head to the Luminous Passage." At the Luminous Passage, the rogues see two youngsters dashing towards them. "Ly, wait!" said the bespectacled youth running after the other boy. "Why are we running?" "I think I saw your old man over there! He mustn't see us together, or we'll both be goners for sure! Just run, Nute!" Looking back, the blue-haired youth did not see the three rogues standing in the way, so he bumped head-first into Guts's broad chest and fell to the ground. The boy gazed up and let out a gulp. "Don't you dare to hurt him!" the boy with glasses shouted, shaking his fist to the rogues. What will the rogues answer?
Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 "Lycan Hinckwell, and... Nuitan Shadeaux, I presume?." Guts lets out a cold chuckle: "We won't hurt you, don't be afraid. You might be able to help us, actually..."
Sandy Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 "Lycan Hinckwell, and... Nuitan Shadeaux, I presume?." Guts lets out a cold chuckle: "We won't hurt you, don't be afraid. You might be able to help us, actually..." "Who's Lycan? I'm Lyren! Oops, probably shouldn't've confessed that..." "How come everyone recognizes us wherever we go? But if you think you can hold us for ransom, well... you probably could. Just don't tie me up too tightly, please. I have a sensitive skin that bruises easily." "Don't worry, Nute! I'll knock these ruffians silly. Just... help me up first..." The boy with glasses helps his friend up. They both glare at the three rogues defiantly.
Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 "Uhm... We have no intention of hurting, kidnapping, or otherwise harming you kids, got it? I know your names, since I believe you ran into some of my fellow 'heroes' a while back, am I right?"
Darth Nihilus Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 "Hullo, Nuitan, Lyren," Dak says, hoping someone of similar age talking to them will calm both down. "We have no intention of hurting you; we're looking for your father, Nuitan. We're helping the Guild of Invision to talk to him, as they seem too cowardly to approach him, we will instead. Is that alright with you two?"
Sandy Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 "I know your names, since I believe you ran into some of my fellow 'heroes' a while back, am I right?" "I remember, but it was ages ago, at our school. Back when Isabeau died..." "We have no intention of hurting you; we're looking for your father, Nuitan. We're helping the Guild of Invision to talk to him, as they seem too cowardly to approach him, we will instead. Is that alright with you two?" "Whoa! If you want to talk to Nute's old man, be my guest but leave me out of it! The man is scary as hell!" "Didn't you just saw him, Ly? Where was that?" "Oh yeah, he was heading to the Stone Garden. And we're heading to the exact opposite direction. Come on, Nute!" The two boys ran off.
Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 "Hmpf, Nuitan might have known what's up with his father, oh well..." Guts eyes Dak suspiciously, wasn't that his nephew just then? "We go to the Fountain."
The Legonater Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Hmm. It would appear the two house's fury with each other doesn't continue on through the generations. Perhaps there's hope for peace in Eubric yet.
Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 "Yes... Perhaps. If this fragile balance holds until those two take up their places of power, I imagine Eubric would be better off, providing their friendship lasts."
The Legonater Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 "Yes... Perhaps. If this fragile balance holds until those two take up their places of power, I imagine Eubric would be better off, providing their friendship lasts." Well that's why we're here, isn't it? To... hold... this fragile balance, as you say. It's all a stall. We just need to make sure it works.
Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 "Hmm, Maybe. I fail to see how us harassing Count Shadeaux helps keeping the balance intact, but you are right. If it were up to me, Heroica would make order. You know, despite the crankiness and the grudges, you are alright, casanova."
The Legonater Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 (edited) "Hmm, Maybe. I fail to see how us harassing Count Shadeaux helps keeping the balance intact, but you are right. Despite the quick-temper and quick to judge stuff, you're alright too, boss. Edited June 10, 2012 by The Legonater
Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Yeah. Despite the quick-temper and quick to judge stuff, you're alright too, boss. "Hah, I'll take it."
Sandy Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 "We go to the Fountain." Returning to the Fountain of Three Gods, it was not a horde of orcs the rogues encounter this time, but three shady fellows with a wolfhead emblem on their tunics. The Wolfgang thugs gave measuring looks at the rogues. Then one of them approached the party. "Hunting on the same turf as us, eh? You three look like a worthy bunch of thieves, I must say. Will you accept the Challenge, then? Or do we just fight until death?" Seeing the big question mark on the rogues' faces, the goons explain the rules of the proposed challenge.
Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 "Hmmm, what do the others think? I won't decide on my own."
