Bricksonwheels Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 For this months Lugnuts Challenge: Rubber Side Down, Shiny Side Up, I have build this Harley Davidson Fatboy in 1:10. It was exactly a year ago that i finished my last bike, so it was time for something fresh. This Harley is based on a traditional scaled Fatboy frame, but fitted with an oldskool 100ci engine, Heritage steps, custom exhaust, charger and a very wide rear tire. I also pictured it with my Streetglide i build a year ago. Hope you like it. Quote
DLuders Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Nice -- your model is a great representation of the real Fatboy! Quote
Bricksonwheels Posted May 20, 2012 Author Posted May 20, 2012 Thanks, though only the frame up to the rear wheel and front suspension are truly traditional. To support the rear tire the frame is custom at the rear, and the exhausts curve different to support the charger. Quote
gotoAndLego Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 This is great. Nice job with all he detailing. Quote
timslegos Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Wow, thats BEAUTIFUL! Nice work as usual! tim Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Love it. All that chrome looks really good! Quote
Surly Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Looks great and nicely detailed. Big Twin Harley's have the chain on the other side and the disk with the exhausts. I love the other bike too but it is a Road King not a Street Glide...I own a Road King Quote
88high Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Now, I would have to say this is the BEST Lego Bike I have ever seen! Quote
Bricksonwheels Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 (edited) Thanks all. I agree with the comment above, but there are so many variants that custom ones that differ in setup are easy to find. I modeled the Fatboy from pictures from a custom Fatboy with wide rear tire, and it had a right chain, like most choppers from that same builder. The Streetglide i modeled from a bike on the Baggers site. It was a (FLH 1340) Streetglide but without some body parts and modified cases. All in all confusing these Harley's Edited May 21, 2012 by Bricksonwheels Quote
Saberwing40k Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Duuuudddde. That's some bike. You should totally put this on Cuusoo, a lot of people would love it! Quote
dario73 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 hi, when you create a model frome the reality, you must create exactly like the real thing, otherwise say I did a harley or whatever, but an object of your interpretation, always have the harley transmission and disc brakes on the left, in fact I'll tell you, the models that you do not have the chain but the drive belt, is that since 1913 the harley does not use the chain, so for the future, if you really want to imitate a real object, you must do the same and documentaries about what you're doing, because as far as the models can be well facts, have no value because they do not reflect reality, and then, share your models with the community, not all, but someone ... or just use them to make the races and show "how good you are?" not so much because you fail to copy Quote
Polo-Freak Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 @dario73 don't Forget, it is a CUSTOM model Quote

dario73 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 That's a statement with your first post and i hope also your last one you leave out of reality!! Couldn't have said it better myself. Couldn't have said it better myself. I do not want to offend anyone but the bike looks like a harley or want to be a harley? if you WANT to be a Harley even if custom should have the basic features of a harley, otherwise it is only a bike whatsoever! right? Junpei Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 ಠ_ಠ I do not want to offend anyone Very convincing. If you think this is a piece of garbage, why don't you just build your own goddamn Harley, huh? I don't see a MOC expert tag on your profile.... You really joined Eurobricks just to make that post.... TLH Quote
z3_2drive Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 If I make an excellent model but give it my own style rather than copying down to the tiniest detail, I can still say what it is based off of. You do realize that you can't re-create an exact replica of a Harley due to parts available, do you? There are no Technic drive belts with teeth, and the fact that it is custom literally means it's not supposed to look like everything else out there. And because his model does not include some features, his credibility flies out the window and his work is of no value? Sounds like jealousy or a bit of a hard-core enthusiast. Quote
