Hello all, I'm a massive fan of marvel and have been since i was a small boy so naturally I've recently bought a few of the new marvel superhero sets. I have Captain America's avenging cycle X 2, Loki's cosmic cube escape and Hulks helicarrier breakout. Up untill now I've always quite happily bought lego sets made them up and be done with it but marvel is awesome and i wan't to make an epic MOC showing the avengers battling Loki's army (i know who or what they really are but don't want to spoil it for anyone) in the middle of Manhatten, the only idea I have for any basics is i would like it to be on three 32X32 tiles and have a row of buildings in variouse states of ruin, pavement (sidewalk) and a road. Plus if possible the Quinjet flying through the street so any advice, ideas, or opinions are welcome and greatly appreaciated, thank you.

Welcome to Eurobricks! And as a fellow big fan of Marvel I think that MOC sounds awesome! It sounds like you have it all planned out and just need the bricks and time! Good luck with this project and I look forward to seeing it in the future!

The best advice I can give you is to just build something, anything at all. take your idea and put it to work, go buy some bricks at a pick-a-brick wall, go buy some baseplates, start something, then post a photo and people can help you out. No one can give you a formula to make your moc, that would be cheating

The best advice I would give is to buy a couple more of Likud cosmic cube escape. Keep the trucks and sell the figs on eBay or bricklink to get your money back. My second tip is look to the modular buildings for inspiration they have some wonderful techniques that may be helpful like the fire brigade as a good example. I would also look at the architecture series as they have a couple of new York buildings. It would be cool if you could use a couple of these sets to make up the back ground of you mock which would add depth and distance. There's a great video on YouTube called Lego spiderman the peril of doc ock. Some of the buildings there are fantastic and are great ideas for mocs. Another idea is to add LEDs to your MOC to add colour and brighten certain areas with certain moods. Lastly think about what other things you would come across in new York like subway entrances, traffic lights, taxes and road works. Good luck with your MOC.

Wow, lots of positive feedback, I like the idea of adding LEDs and subway entrances, I'm hopefully going to my local Lego store over the weekend and they have an instore pick-a-brick service, I have 1 slightly warped 32x32 plate so I'm gonna make a mock MOC, using studded tiles untill I get flats, pictures will be up by the weekend,

I too love Marvel and your ideas sound great... but like others have said it really is not fair to help you... but I do think it would be best to have each hero do something involving their character, like have Captain America and Black Widow help civilians, Thor and Iron man directly fight Loki and Hulk throw cars. that would add some character to the piece. Oh and good luck! :classic:

I love the idea of them all having a role to play especially hulk throwing cars, I'm gonna add lokis army to that bit and have a few crushed underneath cars he's thrown I've already got the perfect car models in mind I'm going to adapt the instructions for set 7236.

Are you talking about the Quinjet set or one that you will build yourself? Because the set is quite big and will be impossible to fit on a 32x32 baseplate (not tile).

AFAIK, the Quinjet crashes at some point in the movie, so it would be much better if you would just include part of the wreckage of the jet lying in the streets.

Sorry. I put it in tags now, so please remove the quote from your post as well. Quoting the post right above yours is kinda pointless anyway.

Thats okay, but tit for tat remarks are kinda pointless no?

Hope you enjoy and gain some inspiration! I will be waiting with the rest of America to see it next weekend! I have heard good things so far though!

All I can say is Wow what a movie, I'm even going to see it again tomorrow, but it has given me the insight I need to build my MOC I now know everyones role and I placed a massive order on pick-a-brick this morning, one thing I do need are lots more of Loki's army.....lots lots more.

If you haven't already got an idea, I'd suggest making the massive worm drop ship thing (I like calling it the Midgard Serpent ) I too have had loads of ideas after watching the film.

Hello, everyone those of you who read my last post about my Avengers MOC will be pleased to know I haven't given up on it as I haven't posted in a while. In fact I was in hospital after my appendix almost burst (bummer huh) so naturally I haven't really felt like making anything. Anyway let's get back on track I've completed the road and Hulk is nicely positioned throwing a police car at the advancing skrull forces, now on to Ironman he's the only guy I can't think of a role for so here's my thinking I would like to make one of the warp whales that are a prominent feature of the alien forces, I have at home the pharaohs snake the Lego Atlantis shark and a whole load of bionicle, so if anyone out there can think of a way i could make one please share, Thankyou.

There's no need to make a new topic to update everyone on a MOC. I've merged this with your other topic.

Next time you make an update, I expect to see pictures. It's hard to discuss something that none of us have ever seen.

Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I was just curious what stage the MOC got to.

Then send him a friendly PM. Your post didn't convey yourself in a good light at all. Sounded more like you were harassing him rather than curious about progress. Remember that on the internet, tone is non-existant. It's very easy to misinterpret things.

You would need some police too, and a lot of those aliens (maybe buy some more Captain America's avenging cycles) This seems to be a sort of hard-to-build MOC, but I'm sure that when you're done it will look quite awesome :sweet:
