I found this picture of a roof built with cheese slopes, which is exactly what I would like to accomplish, but for the life of me, I can not figure out how this was done. Could someone perhaps enlighten me?

I am hoping that this can be done without the left-right offset, but with the less than one plate thick offset (that is what I can not figure out...)

this is snot, studs not on top, but on the sides. It is basically a stair of plates covered with slopes.

The offset is made with jumperplates.

Could someone please help me? I'm building a Piaggio Ape in Model Team style (remote controlled). I've finished everything for many months now, except 1 thing.... the front wheel cover.

Take a look at this picture, it's the black thing covering the front wheel. The cover attachment should be 2 upward studs. But I can modify if needed. My main problem is getting the shape right, while keeping it thin (cause the wheel is under it). Any ideas?

Nice, but the masonry bricks actually are on LDD. They're in the modified brick category, listed as Part# 98283 Profile brick 1x2 single gro. If they're not there for you, you might be using an outdated version of LDD.

Sorry for quoting that old post, but that brick is not present in my LDD although I have 4.3.6. version. It is in Extended mode, but I don't like Extended too much. Any ideas what's wrong with my ldd?

Nothing's wrong with it. That part is only in Extended Mode. Extended Mode updates every time there's an update in the brick palette, but regular LDD mode does not, in part because it demands more information than just the render. In LDD Mode, an Element ID is saved for each brick, and these can be seen when you click File>Export BOM. Because of this, LDD Mode can basically only use parts that actually have Element IDs: namely, ones that have existed physically either in sets or as test molds.

In LDD Extended Mode, only the Design IDs are used to identify each brick. This means that as soon as the render and connectivity for a brick are programmed, it can be added to LDD Extended Mode. Since most builders are not particular about how their bricks are made available, adding new bricks to this mode seems to take priority over adding the information that is needed to include those bricks in LDD Mode.

Note that you can switch modes at any time (View->New Themes) so if you prefer building in the standard LDD mode you can just switch temporarily to Extended Mode and put the brick in, then switch back and carry on building in the simpler mode.

Have a project going which is a two level. I'd like to have a few lights on the lower level... A cave-like structure. I think I would like to put them behind some trans pieces to make a torch glow. None of that's what I'm asking about.

What elements does Lego have for small lights? I assume there is a battery block of some sort. I'd like to do two or three lights... And the kicker is... I'm hoping to have them lit up for a week or so, essentially nonstop.

Ideas would be appreciated.

The elite jr. signature kit has "fire" modes for a flickering effect; I last used one for flickering "barrel" fires in my Christmas layout. I did not leave it on for that long at a time, though, it takes watch type batteries, I don't think it'd last that long, but I don't know... LEDs don't take much, after all.
