Pretzel, seal the death Progg, and heal me, and I'll use a potion on Daxus, as neither of us can take a hit from the Death Progg.

Round Four of the Final Showdown

>Monk Pretzel seals the Death Progg: Failure!

>Erik uses a potion on Daxus: 10 health restored!

>Daxus VS Death Progg (front): Hit Critical hit (10x2=20+10=30-17=13x2=26 damage)...

>Proggsbane infection = -5 HP, -3 SP Death Progg

Pretzel's luck with the scrolls has been all or nothing lately, and it's been leaning towards the "nothing" side this entire battle. Erik tosses Daxus a potion, who eagerly drinks it before landing a Critical hit on the Death Progg. The beast rears backwards and his eyes dim, when he booms...

u4RZo.png

"I shall take this IMPUDENCE no longer! I am the leader of this clan! I am the Patriarch! I am the son of the fabled Mythrogg! I AM THE DEATH PROGG!!"

With that, his eyes are lit ablaze once again, burning with anger and insanity. His mask of composure has slipped off, revealing the true savage beneath. Suddenly, he inhales deeply... and suddenly bellows out a light blue cloud - expelling Proggsbane from his system!

u4RZo.png

"That wretched poison will pester me no longer. Now, learn how it feels to be poisoned back!"

The Death Progg rears up and bellows out a second cloud of gas, this one purple. it is putrid and stining, and the party is forced to close their watery eyes. When they open them again, they see THREE Death Proggs! Feeling their luck turn sour, the entire party is Jinxed! Mizuki's and Daxus's nostrum counteract the effects, however, nullifying their "Lucky" status in the process. The Jinxed effect can be remedied or removed for 3 ether per person.

u4RZo.png

"It is my own personal blend - hallucinogenic airborne venom. I do hope you enjoy it!"

Punii, who was rendered unconcious, staggers up.

Perhaps a hint to which is the real one?

Punii's mishmash wouldn't stop the free hit anyway.

Okay, I don't get it. Are we only supposed to attack the correct death progg, and if so will we receive free hits from the others? Also, can I use three ether to remove the "jinxed" effect from Mizuki and Daxus, thus giving them the "lucky" effect again, or not?

"Just so you fellows know, I believe Death Progg B is the correct one as he is the only one who is still at Level 12, while the others are at Level 13."

QM Note: being as there is one real death progg, you can only get 1 free hit per round - and that is only possible if you all attack a hallucination instead of the real guy. The lucky effect cannot be given back - there was a discussion a few motnhs previous that a nostrum would negate the Jinxed effect and vice-versa.

Yes, only attack the correct Death Progg. Attacking the fake hallucinations is always a roll of "Miss" and results in 7 damage regardless of row.

Hope that cleared matters up.

Daxus: Death Progg B (Front Row)

"You guys don't look so fit anymore so I don't know if you want to try to hit him twice or not. The call is yours.

Erik, it is also your choice whether to hit him or not, or wait for me to heal you next round. Hopefully, this scroll will work this time around. Remember to focus your attacks on Death Progg B. Also, if you think now would be a good time for Punii to throw his bombs, that would be great. I don't think there will be a better time for him, frankly speaking. Alternatively, you could lob your cannonball at him, as well, Mizuki."

Posted

You realize that the Death Progg's hide would prevent the cannonball from doing any damage.

Also, Miukzi and Daxus are still hastened: just not lucky.

"Oops, I just realized how heavy these cannonballs are. If you try lobbing them at him it will fly much too slowly and he will block it with grace. No, just hold onto it for now. This is not the final battle order. You can change it if you like. If you want to try hitting him twice, that is up to you. Otherwise, one of you could heal Erik with a potion in one turn and he could also attack."

I hope you've been keeping Daxus' sword's extra power into mind.

>Pretzel removes "Jinxed" effect from Erik: Jinxed effect removed, -3 ether

>Daxus uses potion on Erik: 10 health restored!

>Erik VS Death Progg (front): Hit (10+10=20-14=6x2=12 damage)

>Daxus VS Death Progg B (front): Special Damage (Jab Massacre)

-Pretzel: Safe

-Erik: Blind!

-Daxus: Safe

-Mizuki: Safe

(Blind effect lasts 3 rounds. Can be removed by a remedy or cleric for one ether.)

The battle against the Death Progg recommences. Pretzel's jinxing forbids him from using the scroll. he can, however, remove the Jinxed effect from Erik, allwoing him to hit Death Progg B - who is the correct one! He startles back, and lets his guard down for a split second, allowing Mizuki to mug him. he quickly regains his composure, and just in time - Daxus was running straight at him! Tired of these games, the death Progg goes berserk, unleashing a Jab Massacre. His tail strikes Erik right between the eyes, blinding him.

The Death Progg roars, unleashing a tiny bit more hallucinogenic gas from his maw. The party closes their eyes... And when they open them, they realize that the Death progg had moved. He may not B anymore!

You'd have to spend a turn removing the blind effect for one ether. Considering you are hastened, you could unjinx yourself and unblind Erik.

"The only hint I can see as to who the real Death Progg is, is that "A" drops one item less than the others, and one item less than the Death Progg is supposed to drop. I don't know whether that rules him out of being the Death Progg or if it guarantees, instead, that it is him. Can any of you see any other signs?"

I believe Mizuki should be at full health, correct?

Battle Order:

Pretzel: Remove "Blinded" effect from Erik

Mizuki: Death Progg (Presumably "A" unless you can see any other hints that would lead you to believe it is one of the others, Front Row)

Pretzel: Heal Erik

"Don't know if you, Mizuki, want to attack again, or whether you, Erik, want to attack at all. In some ways, we can hold back, since your hits will affect Daxus, and just let the poison do the work, while preventing Free Hits, but it's up to you. Also, scan thoroughly if you can see any other clues as to who the real Death Progg is. I don't see why he would lose one of the items he was supposed to drop."

"Where are all these bizzare letters coming from?"

The Death Progg snatches Daxus's letter and inspects it. He jots down a response and sends it.

"Dear Veterans:

I hate you all and hope you burn. Your organization will be down 4 people in a matter of minutes, by-the-by.

Love,

Death Progg"

He breathes in the envelope before quickly sealing it shut, obviously trying to seal in some hallucinogenic gas in the letter. Noting Pretzel,s blunder, says:

"I've got Z-mail!"

"I can take a second hit, so I'll attack a Death Progg from the back. He isn't poisoned anymore, by the way, Sir, though I think the real one is not a. I think we will have to chose between A and B. No point just taking the free hits, as if we don't figure out which one he is, I doubt he'll change, though perhaps we should all attack from the back row."
