lightningtiger Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 Thanks for those kind words 'TDG', keeps the old tiger going....positive feedback does. I should have another baseplate set up in the next two days.....hopefully, to use that picnic area and council office I built the other week......then pub work starts. Keep watching as always. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 Just a quick overall shot of some of the main street's buildings. More tomorrow......so you know keep doing that thing with your eyes ! Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Em that guy with the jack hammer has no ear defenders on. Also why is darth vader pinching bananas? Quote
monsinjor Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Excellent. It looks so nice. Go on... Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 Okay, so that's a good question on OHS......Lego do something about it.....a modified construction helmet or something....worse if you are working in the mine ! Now that's a young lady with a flower in her hair that works at the supermarket.....look back carefully and you'll see her in earlier shots. Keep watching tomorrow....more to come.....dam, I always say that ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) Finally found a shop with a 48x48 in stock.....paid more for it, but I would have had to wait until next year with everyone else ! More tomorrow......a little bit more trimming plus moving that lamp to a more central position and then I can start on the final set of buildings......I think it will be the final set but with the old tiger you never know ? Keep watching......and waiting ! Edited November 14, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 A w-i-p tractor now.......more to be done to this tomorrow - I think it looks like a Case tractor. Of course I'll correct the colours tomorrow. Quote
PsyKater Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I recognized it as CASE at the first glance! Very well done! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 I recognized it as CASE at the first glance! Very well done! Thanks, like I said the front will be all the right coloured parts tomorrow......another trip to Toy Corner ! It looks fantastic in the small yard next to the Holden dealer showroom......fresh pictures tomorrow. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 New tractor is definitely a Case Looking good Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Judging by those white net curtains in the background I know were the money goes........... Your Lego city is coming on well,I think the picnic benches need to be replaced by buildings, could you make some sort of promenade for those benches? Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Thanks 'soccerkid6' for your kind words and 'Alasdair' for your cheeky ones (those curtains are 15 years old......they are as tired as the rest of my marriage is at the moment ). Wow, it's no city just a humble country town of say only a thousand or so people.....such picnic areas are common in many old Aussie country towns. Don't worry a pub is coming up next, than a train station and a cold storage depot to store produce from local farmers in. Keep watching everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 Finally got the tractor finished, but I need fresh sticker sheets......hopefully Monday I will buy a fresh packet of them. More to come soon.....keep watching ! Quote
tomdobs55 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 like the tractor a lot the grill looks great! I really like the the inverted antenna for some reason. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 like the tractor a lot the grill looks great! I really like the the inverted antenna for some reason. Thanks, it was a spur of the moment idea the inverted antenna to act as the exhaust stack. Like I always say......keep watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 Oh, I forgot to add......I received my invite to Railshow 2013 this morning.......I have to now work out my entire layout, etc., and do all the paperwork......more to come that's for sure now ! Quote
michaelozzie Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Really looking forward to seeing a pub added to the town. Seems to be the only thing missing from an Australian main street. That picnic area is a neat addition, could also be a driver reviver stop for the tourists Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 17, 2012 Author Posted November 17, 2012 Thanks 'michael', I'll be starting work on the pub Monday.....fingers crossed.....well I have built a set of beer taps....there's a start, what's a pub without beer ! Keep watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 Another question......should the train station (which comes after the pub) be similar in design period (late 19th century - Victorian era) ? Quote
LegoCityMann Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Beautiful Tractor LT. Your town keeps getting better and better. I an going to be working on an addition to LT Hardware soon and it gives me an idea. Brick On. ~LCM Quote

I an going to be working on an addition to LT Hardware soon and it gives me an idea. Brick On. ~LCM Thanks for the positive vibes 'LCM'......I'll look forward to seeing your hardware store.....take what inspiration you like from any of my present or past designs. Anyway, a spanner might be thrown into my plans as 'greg3' garage has given the tiger an idea........dam, my plans for Lego world domination screwed up again ! Keep watching for updates ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 I got a start on the pub today and more to come tomorrow....... Keep watching ! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I like the log brick/round effect Looking forward to seeing the building finished Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 I like the log brick/round effect Looking forward to seeing the building finished Thanks, it's still a huge w-i-p, but I have added a chalkboard for advertising 'counter meals' on the far wall.....I hope two beer taps will be enough ! Tomorrow I'll have that blank window space fixed as well the holes in the floor....then I can think about roof/ceiling.....keep watching ! Quote
