It has been a while since I build a 1:22 scaled truck, and it has been even longer since I build a classic American cabover truck.

The owner of the Bricks4all chromeshop (www.bricks4all.nl) showed me these experimental Technic panels in chromed version, and then the inspiration for this combo was there.

It is a classic milk trailer (late 80's - early 90's) with a Kenworth K100 cabover to it. The Kenworth is a custom ride, long wheel base, lowered and fully tricked out. It has full functionality and a nice chromed Detroit Diesel 8V92 engine.

I hope you like it!

I don't what you mean Efferman, the fenders at the trailer are very big in real life. The only thing I have not added yet are the actual mudflaps themselves.

They will be on at Fanwelt in Koln. Then you can come and see it :classic:

Here is the truck I inspired myself with:

I think that what effermans mean that they are blue and not chrome

Indeed Efferman, they are plain ugly.  And especially for Europeans they look odd, as we don't know them. I think the story is like this: Back in the 70's and 80's, the era of this trailer, semi tractors ran without true rear fenders like we sometimes see nowadays. The trailers were polished though, and i can imagine the dirt hitting the tank all the time, making it a pain in the as$ to clean :classic:

I think this is how these odd fenders came to live. As i used the 6060's for the trailers rear axles, it was the most homogeneous solution to also use them at the front. It is not a pretty feature, but they resemble the truth.

Do you have any close-ups of the engine? It looks really beautiful but I can't get a good look at it with the current pictures. I also looked at the all the photos on your flickr account as well.

Only criticism I have about this model is that the wheels on the front axle look a little too small. Everything else looks really great though, and the milk tank is beautiful.

Where do you get your parts chromed?

This truck looks fantastic! Love your models. Great pictures too. How did you make the transparent picture?

Are you guys talking about the fenders on the front of the trailer? Every tanker truck I've ever seen in the States has those fenders. Most of the time, the tractors don't have rear fenders, unless it's a show truck. That's why they put fenders on the front of the trailers. Looks good and realistic to me.

Thnx all.

I like all the detailed looks you put into this one. The truck is adapted to the trailer with the chromed Technic panels at fixed size.

To build then in 1:22 created some mild scale errors, but that is also normal with bricks in smaller scale builds. To me this was the best mix.
