Palathadric Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Just wanted to remind y'all that Sarge's weapon is dual strike which means that he can target two enemies per turn, and since he's hastened... I think it just means that two enemies take damage not that two enemies are actually targetted. We will still get free hits, I believe, from those who just take secondary damage. Quote
Palathadric Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 "Sarge, I don't know what you want to do. I would almost deem it less safe for you to attack four enemies than just two, and we absorb the free hit, but it's up to you. Alternatively, you could use your first turn to apply deadly venom to your blade. And then attack Adam and the Crab with your second action." How does "Confused" work, does the confused enemy attack a random opponent, or the one next in the battle order, or a specified one, or what? Quote

How does "Confused" work, does the confused enemy attack a random opponent, or the one next in the battle order, or a specified one, or what? A confused enemy - The enemy has a 1/2 chance of hitting a random ally instead of the target with every DAMAGE or SPECIAL DAMAGE rolled for it or with Free Hits for three rounds. Quote
Palathadric Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 So how is the "random ally" chosen? Quote
Palathadric Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 "Erdy, care to give new instructions to Sarge with the latest information, or Sarge, care to state your new actions." "Not too dumbfounded by our enemies, are you? I personally had a sneaky suspicion something like this would happen when I saw the kinds of items we were gathering, and even from what Almite Bob said, but I was looking forward to getting our reward and being gone from here, that I failed to take my caution too seriously." Pyrovisionary Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I attack the Piggish pig (Normal damage), and Adam (Double damage) From the back row! Quote
Palathadric Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I attack the Piggish pig (Normal damage), and Adam (Double damage) From the back row! "The pig will be taken out by Erdy's bomb and apparently you can target two people each turn, plus you are hastened, so..." Sarge take Adam and the Ape on one strike, your scissors will do double damage to the monkey, and we want to prevent the free hit from Adam. The scissors are also effective against the plant, but I would suggest holding out on it until we have a few of thse other fellows down. You could, possibly, use your first turn to apply deadly venom or regular venom to your blades or just go on a kamikaze mission (whatever that is ) and target two more of the enemies, but I don't know if I would advise that. In the worst case scenario, we have plenty of smoke bombs. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) OOC: Let's say That I target the pig. If I rolled Hit, Shield or Critical hit, then I damage the Pig and ostrich (Next on list) With my attack. If I roll damage / special damage then it's normal. The pig attacks me with damage equal to it's level / it's special attack. By rights I only target one enemy per move. But Dual strike damages the enemy after the targeted one in the list. I do believe that this enemy cannot (Unless hastened) Have free hits when I target the enemy before it on the list. I just only take damage from the enemy before it when I roll damage / Special damage. /Dual strike explained I attack Adam (double) And the Possesed gorilla from the back row (By 'Double' I mean that I choose to attack with both my scissors ,Therefore doing double damage, instead of attacking the targetted enemy and the one next in the enemy list.) Palathadric Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Apparently, our QM has different plans, but I'm not one to argue. Let's get this over with. "Make your scissors hit both Adam and the Deadly Viper, perhaps. That way we can try to trim down the free hits a bit earlier by taking out some of those with less health, but it's your call." Quote

The_Customizer Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) Alright Sarge, looks like that will work! Let's get this battle started. Edited January 16, 2013 by The_Customizer Quote
Palathadric Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Just to recapitulate: Battle Order: Erdy: Fire Bomb Erdy: Staff of Life (Back Row) Sarge: Adam (Back Row)-Attack hits Adam and Deadly Viper Pretzel: Heal Dr. Trice (Back Row) Sarge: Gorilla (Back Row)-Attack Hits Gorilla Twice Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 No Palthadric! the other way around for sarge! Battle Order: Erdy: Fire Bomb Erdy: Staff of Life (Back Row) Sarge: Adam (Back Row)-Attack hits Adam twice. Pretzel: Heal Dr. Trice (Back Row) Sarge: Gorilla (Back Row)-Attack Hits Gorilla and Orange crab This is correct! Quote
Palathadric Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 "Ummm. If you hit the Gorilla twice you actually have a chance of finishing him off. For now we're just trying to cut down the free hits as far as I'm concerned, you could make both attacks hit two people." Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Battle Order: Erdy: Fire Bomb Erdy: Staff of Life (Back Row) Sarge: Adam (Back Row)-Attack hits Adam and the deadly viper. Pretzel: Heal Dr. Trice (Back Row) Sarge: Gorilla (Back Row)-Attack Hits Gorilla and Orange crab Quote
Flare Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 Final Battle Round One: >Erdy throws Fire Bomb >Erdy vs. Staff of Life - Damage / Special Guard >Sarge vs. Adam (& Deadly Viper) - Hit >Pretzel heals Dr. Trice - No Healing >Sarge vs. Gorilla (& Orange Crab) - Miss Free Hits: Erdy - Deadly Viper, Batty Bat, Peckish Ostrich - (12+8+12/2 = 16 damage) Sarge - Enchanted Rose, Piggish Pig - (5+1/2 = 3 damage) Pretzel - Orange Crab - (22/2 = 11-5 = 6 damage) Erdy chucks a fire bomb into the room. It damages all enemies with 5 damage, except for the Enchanted Rose and Possessed Gorilla with 10 damage, and Dr. Trice and the Piggish Pig which weren't damaged at all. Erdy next attempts to damage the Staff, but she is not seriously damaged. Sarge snips violently at his previous friend Adam and the Deadly Viper, causing 25 damage to each of them. Pretzel doesn't manage to heal Dr. Trice, which is probably for the better as they seem to not be on best of terms at the moment. Sarge misses out on causing any more damage to the enemies. The party is pomelled with free hits from the untargeted enemies. Dr. Trice cannot be damaged until the staff is defeated. Drops: nothing Note: Dr. Trice cannot be damaged until the staff is defeated. Special I occurs until Dr. Trice is out of ether, and afterwards Special II will occur. Palathadric Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Erdy, it may be a good idea to give me a Smelling Salts so I can take an extra free hit, being the only one among us who has armour. We've got to think of something to do though, because, to a certain extent, we could consider ourselves fairly lucky last round, but clearly we cannot continue in the same vein or we'll be overrun before we know it. Dr. Trice, the Staff of Life, and Adam cannot get free hits. I heal Dr. Trice Again. "Or Erdy, here's a thought, try applying Paralyzing Venom to Sarge's blade since he can hit several enemies at once. That may actually be the best option. Quote
The_Customizer Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 That would probably work best Monk, I'll apply paralyzing Venom to Sarge's scissors, then Sarge needs to just target as many enemies as possible. Battle Order Erdathcath Applies Paralyzing Venom to Sarge's Scissors Erdathcath attacks the Staff of Life Monk Sarge (First time attack Adam, and Deadly Viper) Sarge (Now attack Orange Crab, and Pig) Quote

Palathadric Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 "Sarge, make sure that your actual target is the Pig, not the Crab, and you may want to note that you are fighting from the back row, just so that God doesn't take your lack of specification with any contempt. Furthermore, I would advise you to just repeat your previous attack and try which hit both the Gorilla and the Crab, but it's up to you. "Erdy, you may want to put me fourth in the Battle Order again, so I can take the free hit from the crab, that is if Sarge doesn't target it. Of course, it will be difficult to balance the free hits as we can't be sure how many enemies Sarge will be able to paralyze. Quote
Palathadric Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 "Well, that bomb was less than effective. To think that we could already have both Adam and the Deadly Viper paralyzed. Ah well!" Quote
